It's Cute That You're Trying, But Stop It

"You sure there's time for this? What about your daily patrol?" Rachael asks, from across the table in the diner they often attended.

"Taken care of." Otto answers with his signature hair raising smirk.

"You're lying-" Peter huffs, standing invisibly beside him as Ock sat down in his chair.

"I've deployed digital Spider-Eyes along my usual routes. Now with a simple swipe of my patrol app... Thwip thwip thwip. City: patrolled." Otto says tapping his phone a few times before putting it away.

"That's... actually kinda clever..." Peter mumbles, watching him over his shoulder.

"That's actually kinda clever." Rachael admits, leaning her head on her hand.

"Just said that." Peter sighs, knowing she can't hear him.

"Clever, but not you." Rachael continues, her eyes narrowing at him as she observed him carefully. Something was different and she was going to figure out what.

"Ha! She's onto you, Otto!" Peter smiles, with amusement and hope.

"Like calling press conferences or not going after the Sinister Six when you knew where they were." Rachael adds, watching his reaction.

"Good press helps. Gathering tactical data. Creating this app, that's me being a smarter Spider-Man. A more efficient Spider-Man. One who has more time to spend with you. So Rachael Stark, what do you say? Do you want to spend more time with me?" Otto asks.

"C'mon kid! It's not me! Don't do it! Don't do it!" Peter shouts, swiping his hand in front of his throat aggressively.

"You act like we don't live together." Rachael laughs, a bit running her hand through her long red curls.

"Ha! Fuck you Ock!" Peter laughs, rejoicingly, but it came to a stop as quickly as it had got going.

"But sure. I think I'd like that." Rachael smiles at him, something was wrong, but she was still hopeful.

"What?!" Peter yells, his face falling, as he turned his ghost like body to look at her to see if she was serious or not.

"This is so lame, Ock. You're not even talking you're just sitting by a lake in a random part of New York." Peter groans.

Otto and Rachael were just citing on a park bench staring out onto the water. He pretended to yawn a bit and then put his arm around her shoulder, making Peter grimace at how stupid that move was.

"This is a little old school can I liven the moment up a bit?" Rachael asks, looking over at him.

"Of course, darling. If it's what I think it is." Otto smiles, assuming he's finally going to get what he's been trying for. Hoping it was a kiss or more...

"Well then you might be a little disappointed." Rachael smiles standing up and holding her hands out towards him. "Come here."

Otto takes them confused and stands up following after her as she starts to walk backwards towards the lake. "Woah, what are you doing?"

"She's going skating." Peter laughs from beside him.

As her foot touches the water it freezes spreading out from where her foot touched till the whole lake was frozen over. She led him onto the ice before letting go of his hands and skating away from him, making a graceful figure eight.

"Now this is more our speed, isn't it?" Rachael smiles, laughing a bit as he tries to get over to her, but just slips around on the ice. "And here I thought you could stick to anything."

"I can, he's just wearing thick shoes." Peter says, transparent beside her as he watches her beauty shine in the sunlight. She was practically glowing and it pained him to no end that he couldn't sweep her up in his arms and tell her how radiant he thought she was. No, instead he was trapped inside his own head, screaming to get out, watching a sycophant go after his girl.

"And here I thought you couldn't give me any more surprises." Otto smiles, struggling to get towards her.

"Well, I might just surprise you yet." Rachael smiles skating over to him, grabbing his arms to help hold him up.

"Are you always this chill to the touch?" Otto smirks, as his hands grip onto her bare skin, glancing down at her breasts before, staring at her lips. He leaned down towards her and she pecked his cheek sweetly and abruptly.

"Now, we should head back into the city it's getting close to my call time." Rachael smiles, pulling away from him and skating back to the lakeside.

"That's my girl." Peter smiles, at Ock mockingly.

"What a tease." Otto scoffs rolling his eyes as he attempts to get back to where the bench is, but continuously slips.
