Ultimate Fallout pt. 7

"Johnny quiet..." Rachael mumbles holding a camera out in front of her as they hide behind some of the rumble left over from the Queensborough bridge incident.

A bunch of Shield agents were walking around as Nick Fury approached them barking out orders. One of the agents spotted their camera peeking out over some debris.

"Hey! You!" The agents yelled as they both turned and bolted. "Hey! Stop! Stop right there!"

Agents quickly surrounded them, trapping them. "This is a closed off area! This is a crime scene. What are your names, little kid?" Another agent asked, as Rachael ran weaving through them until one of them grabbed her from behind.

"Hey! Hey! Someone grab the camera!" An agent shouted.

"Johnny! Agh!" Rachael kicked as they pried the camera from her hands and someone grabbed Johnny pinning him to the ground. "Give it back! Give it back!"

"Just settle down-" The agent holding her said.

"Help! Help! I'm-" Rachael yells getting interrupted by Fury approaching them.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" Fury asked.

"They snuck onto secured grounds and were taking pictures. We need to confisc-" The agent holding her said as he let her go.

"Take the camera and send them home." Fury sighs.

"Why? Who is she?" An agent asked as Johnny was released too.

"I know exactly who she is. Kid, just this once I'm looking the other way. Go home. We'll discuss this more with Rogers and your father at a later date." Fury says with authority.

"You killed him! I know you killed him! It wasn't you who pulled the trigger but it was you who had him killed! I'm going to prove it and I'm going to make sure everyone knows!" Rachael shouted at him, Nick inhaled sharply in shock taking a step back.

"Go home. Don't come back." Nick sighs turning away. The agents let the two go and they started to walk away.

"That was close." Johnny sighs.

"Did you really think we'd get in trouble? My dad's an Avenger." Rachael sighs, as they head back to the compound to get ready for the funeral.

"Mrs. Parker. Just so you don't have to worry. I'm picking up the tab for the funeral and all that entails. It's not a big deal for me and well...I just didn't want you to worry." Tony says softly breaking the silence that had fallen over the limo. Rachael shifted in her seat sadly, adjusting the skirt of her dress.

"I-I-I don't want a big thing. I just want to-" May says overwhelmed by the whole situation.

"Well... You might not have much say in the matter." Tony says looking out the window as they pull up to the church. Where thousands of people were gathered around the walkway inside.

"Oh my God..." Rachael gasps looking outside.

"I...I don't want this." May says on the verge of breaking down.

"Ma'am... if you want me to take you home I will." Tony says softly.

"I-I have no-I have no home." May says resting her head in her hands.

"The hotel. I- wherever you need to go. I'll take you, but if I may...This wasn't planned. This gathering. This just happened. If you have it in you...I think you should let it happen. The city needs to mourn too. This- right now- this is about more than just the people who actually knew him. That'll have to be-...that'll have to be for later. But that's not my call...it's yours. Do you...Do you have it in you?" Tony asked, May was silent. "I'll take you home."

"No. No." May sighs. Tony nods opening the door stepping out before helping May out as well. He went to grab Rachael's hand to help her but she ignored him and got out on her own.

Everyone in the crowd turned to them as they walked towards the church. May held Rachael's hand tightly as Tony kept a hand on her shoulder.

"Excuse me..." Came a small voice from the crowd. "Are you Spider-Man's mommy?"

They all stopped on the pathway turning to look at the small girl with burn scars on her face. "Yes, I am." May says without hesitation.

Rachael smiled slightly at that. "When I was little, Spider-Man saved me from a fire so I didn't die." The little girl smiles.

May put a hand over her mouth starting to cry.

"Do you need a hug?" The girl asked extending her arms out towards her, reaching over her mother's arms, who was holding her.

May nodded reaching over the barricade hugging the small child. She released her after a minute and continued to walk into the church.

They walked inside and Rachael got stopped by Flash who jumped out of his seat to greet her and apologize.

Tony continued to walk May towards their seats in the front. Steve walked over stopping in front of them. "Excuse me, ma'am...my name is Captain Steve Rogers. I knew Peter. I just wanted to say that- that- it's my fault. It's my fault your boy is dead." Steve says somberly.
