Crossing Paths with a Black Cat

(This is really shitty I'm sorry)

Bad Luck pt. 1

All the police scanners where going off like crazy. The Metropolitan Museum of Art recently got a new addition to its collection that seemed to have been broken into. Calls about multiple silent alarms being tripped came flooding through Peter's suit, while he was out on patrol. Pete being the good vigilante that he is decided to investigate since there weren't many police in the area at the moment and he happened to only be right down the block.

He easily got inside by just using the front door, figuring the alarms were already going off who cares about one more. Peter wondered around the museum trying to figure out where the criminal could be and barely found any evidence of anyone even being there in the first place.

"If I was gonna steal a priceless artifact where would I be hiding?" Peter says out loud to himself, while he snuck around the museum. He found the security center outside the artifact room tampered with. "Camera five is turned off. And it's right in front of the target. Looks like someone really doesn't want to get caught."

He turned the camera back on and headed into the room looking around. The thick, bulletproof glass surrounding the artifact, a large, historical, porcelain, gold vase, was luckily still in tact. "There is no way anyone is getting in there tonig-"

Before he could even finish his thought the ceiling inside the casing fell through and a very familiar white haired woman in skintight black spandex flipped down with ease.

"You look good, spider. Been working out?" Black Cat says, seductively from inside of the glass, moving towards where he was on the other side.

"I-I um...I mean, you know...a little." Peter stutters, he was never very good at reconvening with exes.

"So...you swinging solo now? Or are you back with your redhead?" Felicia asks tapping the glass with her cat like steel claws and dragging a single one across the glass.

"That's-Uh...a lot of questions." Peter says nervously, since he wasn't quite sure what the answer was himself.

"I'm just curious-" Felicia smiles.

"Yeah, I hear that's bad for cats." Peter says cutting her off quickly, in an attempt to have authority. "How 'bout you tell me why you're really here?"

"I was just waiting for the right moment. Look behind you." Felicia says tapping the glass as a few two-bit criminals come racing into the room, giving her a distraction to grab the artifact and get out. She persuaded the men to break in after her so they would be blamed and she, herself would never even be suspected. Those rookie mistakes the police love to laugh about were made purposefully to frame them to the best of her abilities. She had a job to do and letting the police know she was back in action wasn't going to help her situation in the slightest.

He quickly turned to them, webbing the arms of one of them and landing a firm kick to the chest knocking him back into a display. The other criminal shot a ray like weapon at him before getting clocked quickly as Peter used his taser webs to fry it's circuits. Then used the guns momentum to knock the man in the head with it and webbing him to the floor when he fell. Once they were all down for the count and webbed up, he turned around to find her lifting up the vase like artifact.

"I like your new tricks." Felicia says holding the vase up.

"And I'm tired of your old ones." Peter scoffs. "Weren't you gonna stop stealing art?"

"Who said I'm here for the art?" Felicia asks, dropping the vase on the ground and letting it shatter into millions of pieces around her feet.

"What are you doing?!" Peter shouts, as she picks up a small flash drive like device from within the shards of porcelain.

"I think you have lives to save." Felicia says as the art piece hanging above where he had webbed down the criminals fell.

"This was all apart of your plan wasn't it?" Peter scoffs, webbing the large sculpture to the walls stopping it mid fall. When he turned back she was gone. "Typical."

As he walked closer he could make out scratches she made in the glass with her claws: "Missed you."accentuated with a little heart drawn next to it.

"Oh, Felicia..." Pete sighs.

Peter followed her trail around the city cleaning up her messes and getting intentionally mislead by her distractions before finally giving up and stopping to rest on the side of a building.

"I like watching you. Reminds me of old times." Felicia says, appearing above him on the roof.

"What's on that drive?" Peter asks, only slightly surprised since his powers alerted him she was there even before she announced herself.

"Not entirely sure to be honest..." She says peering down at him from the roof.

"Then why are you stealing it?" Peter asks, as she flips onto the building roof below the one she was on.

"If I don't...They'll kill my son." Felicia says, turning to look at him.
