Chaos
"Peter..." Rachael yells to the other room. "Peter! Come get your daughter!"
Annie-May was sitting on the ceiling refusing to come down.
"Come on, tiger. You have to go to Grandmama's." Rachael sighs trying to reach up and grab her but can't without injuring both of them.
"No. I don't wanna..." The three year old whines crossing her arms her brown braided pigtails hanging down from being pulled by gravity.
"Why not sweetie, you love May's." Rachael sighs putting her hands on her hips.
"I️ wanna stay with you and Daddy." Annie huffs.
"I know tiger, but I have a show tonight and you're father has to go on a business trip. It's just easier if you stay at grandmama's tonight." Rachael explains. "I'm sorry, just come down please..."
"No." Annie protests.
"Peter!" Rachael shouts towards the door out of the nursery.
Peter came barreling down the hallway sliding into the room with Melody in his arms. "What?"
"She's refusing to come down." Rachael sighs taking the one year old from him who was looking at her with big blue eyes, sucking on a spoonful of marmalade and making soft babbling noises.
Peter sighed slipping his shoes off and climbing up the wall anchoring himself to the wall and reaching out to the toddler in the middle pulling her to him, much to her dismay.
"Careful, tiger..." Rachael says nervously, bouncing Melody up and down on her hip.
Peter held Annie walking down the wall, stepping onto the floor again, with a sigh. "How many times have we told you, you can't do that?"
"About sixty five billion trillion." Annie huffs.
"And yet, you never listen..." Peter mumbles setting her on the floor, and slipping his shoes back on.
"Come on, we need to leave or you'll miss your flight." Rachael says as they all walk towards the front door. Peter grabbed their bags.
"Pete, do you have Mel's bear?" Rachael asks, grabbing Annie's coat from the wall.
"No?....was I supposed to?" Peter asks setting the bags down next the penthouse door.
"Yes." Rachael sighs. "Do you know where it is?"
"No." Peter says shaking his head.
"Oh my God, you're fucking useless..." Rachael mumbles, handing Melody to him and walking back towards the bedroom. "Don't worry I'll get it...I have to do everything around here don't I!"
Peter looked down at the toddler, while simultaneously trying to keep Annie in the room. "Can I have this?" Peter asked pulling on the spoon in Melody's mouth lightly.
She grumbled tightening her little grip on the spoon to stop him.
"There isn't anything even on it anymore, you're just chewing on it now." Peter says, tugging on it again.
Melody opened her mouth letting him pull it out, only to pout, her eyes to start watering.
"Hey, hey, it's okay don't cry..." Peter says looking down at her softly, walking over to the counter setting her down on it carefully. He opened the jar of marmalade, dipping the spoon into it and letting Melody shovel it back in her mouth. She let out a content noise smiling up at him, the trickle of tears drying up within seconds.
Peter smiled down at her, scooping the toddler back into his arms, bouncing her around while making cooing noises.
Rachael walked back into the room already exhausted and the day had barely begun, she would have smiled at the sight in the kitchen but she really just wanted to slap him in the face at the moment. "Annie-May, Stop harassing the turtle, we're leaving." Rachael sighs at her three year old who was tapping the turtle tank. She slipped Annie's jacket on.
She set the bear on one of the bags picking them up. "Peter me, let's go..." Peter walked with Melody, wrapping her in a coat, opening the door with his foot allowing Annie and Rachael to go out first, before following.
They were about halfway out the building before Annie decided to make things more complicated. "I have to potty."
"Jesus, Fucking, Christ..." Rachael mumbles. "This one's all You, Spider-Dad." She says switching all the bags to one arm and taking Melody from Peter, continuing to walk out to the car.
