Bad Luck pt. 5

Peter's phone rang in his boot and he wired the call through his suit before answering. "Felicia?"

"Hey, I need your help I'll send you the location." She says, quickly.

"What? What's going-" Peter says, barely getting his words out before she hung up.

"So what? She calls and expects me to rush right over, after everything..." Peter scoffs, starting to swing towards her location. "And here I am rushing over..."

Peter landed on a roof beside Felicia where she was watching the Mob in action. They owned the outside garden bar below them, with beams going across, used to hang lights.

"So what do you got?" Peter asks, observing the scene.

"Got a tip from an old friend. They're keeping something 'extremely valuable' in that office above the bar." Felicia says.

"Lotta guys in there." Peter says looking at her.

"If they spot me, my son's dead." Felicia says grimly.

Peter stayed silent for a moment seeming to contemplate something anxiously before focusing on the target. "I'll cause a distraction, then you sneak in."

"My hero." Felicia flirts, leaning her head on her fist.

"C'mon." Peter says awkwardly pointing at the current situation, like seriously. Felicia giggles at him. "Please..."

Felicia jumped onto one of the beams below ignoring him. He followed her, landing on a different beam and sneaking around on it. Peter crawled over to where a guard was walking, encasing him in webbing and sticking him to the beam like a Christmas ornament.

He moved towards one of the walls and webbed the guy by the main entrance to the wall, before hoping down and knocking out the man coming toward him. The man was webbed to the floor before he webbed another guard to the ceiling beam.

Felicia called Peter and the call was wired through his suit once again. "I got something they recently bought a room-sized 'impenetrable vault' to store their most valued item."

"Like a kidnapped kid." Peter says while he knocks a man into a wall with one kick to his chest. "Any indication where the vault is?"

"No, details yet, but I have more books to go through." Felicia sighs, sounding genuinely worried for once.

"Keep looking." Peter says while his fight continues on. He used his taser webs to knock a group of men out. A larger man with a ray gun like the ones the street criminals had earlier and started to spit threats left n' right before Felicia knocked him out with one kick from behind. "About time!"

"You've gotten soft in your old age." Felicia teases.

"Old age? I may be older, but I'm not old." Peter scoffs, genuinely offended. They both started to fight the incoming reinforcements. "I'm twenty-one!"

He webbed two more together and hung them from the ceiling before getting knocked over from behind.

"Mind if I join in?" Felicia jokes.

"Yeah, Yes, I do!" Peter grunts, as he throws someone back into a wall and Felicia takes out three guys in one blow.

"Nice form." Peter compliments, getting back into his feet.

"Checking out my 'gear'?" Felicia teases.

"What? I-No!" Peter stutters, flustered. They both cornered the final one left.

"You first, spider." Felicia says, looking at him.

Peter kicked him full force across the face, before Felicia landed a blow to his abdomen knocking him backwards and into the bar. She climbed over the bar top and pulled off a bottle of champagne, popping the cork and pouring some into a glass.

"Did you find the location of the vault?" Peter asks.

"No, but we're narrowing it down. And it's definitely where they're keeping, Gene- I mean my son." Felicia said correcting herself, so quickly if you weren't paying full attention you would have missed it.

"Yeah, speaking of him. There's an overdue conversation-" Peter says, anxiously, as he spider-squatted on the bar top.

Felicia ignored him and stepped on the unconscious man on the floor for leverage to look at Peter on his level. "Do you ever miss this?"

"What? Me getting shot at while you steal things?" Peter scoffs.

Felicia stepped down and sat in a chair at one of the tables extending her feet into the table top. "I really tried going straight. Got a job that didn't involve breaking or entering. I settled down, got a place of my own. Started to enjoy life. Even started wearing sweatpants on weekends."

"I wondered where you'd went." Peter says hopping of the bar top. "Must have been hard for you. Especially with a child."

Felicia seemed to grow immediately uncomfortable and tipped her chair back gracefully flipped out of it and walking towards him. "I need to go deeper. I'm gonna find him. Or I'm gonna die trying."

"Let me help. If we're supposed to be working together-" Peter says. She seductively brushed his cheek with her hand, his breath hitching slightly.

"Some things I do better alone. Some things..." Felicia whispered before stepping aside and using her grappler to hang upside down off the ceiling beam reversing their usual roles. "I'll call you if I need an extra pair of hands."

She used her grapple to get away this time swinging herself onto a nearby roof and disappearing into the night.

"Hey, Rachael. Did you get anything good from that laptop?" Peter asks when she answered the phone.

"I'm still decrypting the data. Should have something soon though." Rachael answers, with a yawn. It was late into the depts of the night at this point and her insomniac brain was starting to realize just how long it's been since she last got some sleep.

"Good. In the meantime we got another lead. We think they're keeping her son in a vault, but we don't know where the vault is." Peter says.

"Once I crack these files, maybe we can combined my chocolate with your peanut butter." Rachael says. "And do not make a saucy joke with that."

"It's hard to resist with a setup like that, but I guess I'll hold the sauce." Peter laughs.
