All Grown Up

(So I didn't proof read this and it's kinda shitty and short, but I love this song and it works too well for her. I also just felt the need to post something today so here you go)

Rachael's Playlist (8/?)

"I don't know what to tell you...I'd switch places with you in a heartbeat if I could. You don't deserve to be going through this." Johnny says from his seat on the edge of Rachael's bed watching her skim her eyes panicked over the pictures she had sitting on her dresser.

"Remember back in eleventh grade, endless games of truth or dare, double dates to the arcade? When I close my eyes I'm there. I think my father took this picture back when we were all just friends. Memories that fade and flicker, burn again when I pretend." Rachael says softly.

"I really want to be the wise older brother here, but I have no idea what to do. Life just threw you a big curve ball and I don't think duct tape can fix it." Johnny sighs.

"Life is short and life is strange, trouble now and troubled past. Times have changed they rearrange and little girls grow up so fast." Rachael says as the panic of the situation starts to set in. "Feel it how it grows inside me, swirling ball of anguished cries. Haunted daunted so unwanted! Feel its anger in me rise."

"Hey, it's okay cal-" Johnny urges worriedly, standing to move towards her, but she turns away.

"Dream a dream then dash another. Life is there to interrupt. Someone out there call my father, look at me dad all grown up! All those years I scrimped and saved and now of course it comes to this. If only Rachael had behaved or learned to stopped at just a kiss!" Rachael panics running her hands through her hair, the air in the room lowering drastically. "It hits me paralyzing shudder, face the music take a bow.
Just another unwed mother, one more sad statistic now!"

Johnny shivered rubbing his arms to keep up his ridiculously high body temperature, going to say something, but she continued before he had a chance.

"Dream a dream then dash another. Life is there to interrupt. Someone out there call my father! Look at me I'm all grown up...Look at me I'm all grown up" Rachael says starting to cry, pacing around her side of the room as a harsh flurry raced around her. "Little lies and big decisions. Who to tell and where to go. Follow someone else's vision or trust my own 'cause I don't know!"

"We'll figure this out together calm down-" Johnny says soothingly, reaching out for her getting stopped by the chill around her.

"Am I suppose to love this child? Is it just that simple then? Tell me how this change will happen. Tell me how and tell me when. Tell me how and tell me when!" Rachael sobs as Johnny grabs her arms to keep her still and from harming herself accidentally. "Dream a dream then dash another. Life is there to interrupt. Someone out there tell my father! Look at me I'm all grown up!"

Johnny was trying his best to be strong for the much younger girl, but her fear was truly breaking his heart and he wasn't sure how much longer he could last.

"Story ends in total damage. It's an unforgiving world. Twenty-one how will I manage? How can I..." Rachael sobs her voice breaking as Johnny pulls her into a protective hug, sliding them to the floor. "...I'm just a girl..."

"Shh...it's okay. It's going to be okay. No matter what happens. No matter what you choose to do or what he chooses. I will be here for you through all of it. Even if no one else is, I will be. I will always be here. Anytime you need me, anything you need, anything. I will always be there for you." Johnny says softly as he holds the sobbing girl rocking her gently. He kissed to top of her head, protectively. "You're gonna be okay...I promise."
