Summary: Clover Ring is the official school idol group of Kichijitsu High School in Japan. It consists of 3 second years & 3 first years, and has 3 former members. The theme of the group centers around nature, especially clovers, and the group itself is mildly based on the Love Live franchise. I created this group around June 2015, though in their universe, Clover Ring was created on April 2015.

Members

Name: Willow Natsukawa
Age: 16
Grade: 2nd year
Gender: Female
Birthday: July 5, 2000
Nationality: Japanese
Sexuality: Bisexual
Height: 158 cm
Image Color: Green
Voice Actress: Chiwa Saito
Position: Founder, Vocalist
Personality: Willow is often in situations where she acts the prominent fussy role, technically claiming what people should do and shouldn't do. In addition, she tends to speak her thoughts out loud, and her slightly excessive honesty makes her not very likable in her classes. However, as hypocritical as she is, Willow becomes lazy whenever such a role does not demand her attention. This side is shown the most amongst her friends, especially after Emi becomes Clover Ring's new leader.
History: Willow lived her childhood as a naive and easygoing girl. She tended to be rather serious and shy, and occasionally called out people for things that stood out. In her first year of middle school, Willow fell in love with one of her somewhat-friends, who was a year older than her. However, months later, that friend turned out to be dating someone else. This left Willow in a heartbroken state, causing her to lock herself in her room for a month. She never got over it until a few years later.
For her second year of high school, Willow wanted to try something new for a change. She was tired of doing the same things every year, and the thought of singing on a stage dressed in flashy clothing was definitely different than her usual activity. The school's idol club somewhat recently lost all of its members, however, so Willow had to recruit members by herself. It took around 3-4 days of restless searching for anyone to sign up - who, specifically, was none other than Willow's crush at the time, Sakura Ichiharu.
General Relationships: Willow is childhood friends with Momoka, and had been crushing on Sakura ever since the middle of her first year of high school. She is also in a subunit with Iris, one of Hoshiko's most empathic friends when it came to her, and trusts Emi the most out of the other members as founder to leader.
Random Facts:
• Originally, Willow was going to be designed as a girl in her late elementary years or early middle school years with a shy personality and short black hair.
• Willow hates mayonnaise.
• Willow tends to be self-centered, but she's careful not to be such too much; it's one of the traits she dislikes about herself.
• One of Willow's hobbies involve sketching drawings (not that she's an expert).
• Willow dyed her black hair into (snow) white around age 10.

Name: Sakura Ichiharu
Age: 16
Grade: 2nd year
Birthday: April 1, 2000
Nationality: Japanese
Sexuality: Bisexual
Height: 163 cm
Image Color: Pink
Voice Actress: Haruka Tomatsu
Position: Hairstylist, Vocalist
Personality: Sakura is generally gentle and mature with a sweet touch. She often smiles and is easy to get along with. However, Sakura also has a mischievous side she likes to go to, and rarely shows it to anyone other than her friends in Clover Ring.
History: Sakura lives under a household that has rather high expectations for her. In fact, the main reason why Sakura has a sweet and ladylike personality is due to being intimidated into that sort of personality by her parents.
At one point during her second year in high school, she noticed one of her classmates, Willow, anxiously struggling to search for what seemed to be members for something. Sakura shortly learned that Willow was recruiting members for the abandoned school idol club she wanted to join, as she knew that she couldn't become a school idol without other members. Interested, Sakura decided to join, and was met by the surprise of seeing Willow cry for the first time as a classmate.
General Relationships: To Sakura, Willow is a classmate she secretly admires for how open and confident she is. She additionally gets along with Momoka quite well, and is in the same subunit as her. Sakura is Hoshiko's most empathic friend. On the other hand, Sakura haven't actually talked much with Iris nor Emi yet.
Random Facts:
• Sakura's surname comes from the fact that cherry blossoms (sakuras) only bloom in spring.
• Sakura adores cats, but hates dogs.
• Originally, I had her as Momoka's prankster partner.
• On the day Willow confessed to Sakura (which takes place in the future), Sakura rejected but admitted her respect for her classmate.

Name: Momoka Natsukawa
Age: 15
Grade: 1st year
Birthday: June 15, 2001
Nationality: Japanese
Sexuality: Homosexual
Height: 147 cm
Voice Actress: Haruka Tomatsu
Position: Vocalist
Personality: Momoka is full of optimism that shines brightest in her smiles and words. Even if she's down, she tries to sound as optimistic as usual (and normally pulls it off). She also tends to add a touch of cuteness in her persona sometimes, taking advantage of her child-like appeal.
History: Momoka had a slightly higher amount of cheerfulness, easygoingness, and innocence during her childhood - like a typical child's. Momoka had a best friend she grew very close to in elementary school, who began to undergo bullying & a suicidal attitude in sixth grade. Momoka had tried to aid the situation by consistently saying words like "Don't mind them!" and "Stay strong and keep your chin up!," but her friend had committed suicide in the end. Worse, Momoka was denied permission to attend her friend's funeral due to the unfamiliarity (& hence distrust) between the two girls' parents. Since then, as cheesy as it sounds, Momoka decided she wanted to be a person who was actually able to make people happy, whether they were already happy or sad, and the desire came to grow from a simple act on guilt to a simple habit in life.
At some particular age, Momoka grew attached to animes like school idol animes. She ended up seeing real-life idols on the TV sometimes, as well, so she grew an interest on trying out being one one day. As soon as she learned Willow was recruiting school idol members, Momoka approached her and complained on how the second year was trying to keep it a secret (which she indeed was, out of embarrassment) and immediately joined the group. She did contemplate sometimes on whether or not she'd regret it, but in the end, she never did.
General Relationships: Willow is Momoka's childhood friend, and Sakura is one of Momoka's closest friends (as well as being in the same subunit as her). Momoka is also rather fond of Hoshiko and likes to tease her and Iris a bit. She respects Emi as a strong-willed yet relatable and fun leader.
Random Facts:
• Momoka's hairstyle comes from a different anime girl's (I forgot the name of the anime, sorry!).
• Momoka loves dogs and wishes she had one. The opposite is somewhat true for cats.
• Momoka's current favorite anime is Osomatsu-san, and her favorite character is Jyushimatsu.
• When Willow dyed her hair, Momoka told her off, saying Willow was probably too young to dye her hair. However, at around age 12 (roughly around the same age), Momoka dyed her own black hair into yellow, earning Willow's amused remark on the slight hypocrisy.

Name: Hoshiko
Age: 15
Grade: 1
Birthday: December 23, 2001
Nationality: Austrian-Japanese
Sexuality: Bisexual
Height: 152 cm
Voice Actress: Miyuki Sawashiro
Position: Composer, Vocalist
Personality: Hoshiko is a calm and somewhat aloof girl. She is quite reserved, and speaks a little less than the others do. Hoshiko is also rather straightforward (though blunt may be a slight overstatement), for she doesn't usually extend her responses or comments with extensive details and emotions.
History: Ever since she was a child, Hoshiko had been constantly pressured to become ladylike and mature - rather like a stereotypical aristocrat. She was forced to attend numerous classes for this, and one of these were piano lessons - with a teacher who Hoshiko particularly became very close to. No matter how frustrating her experiences were, Hoshiko could always confide in her dear teacher.
However, that teacher's death became the last straw that provoked Hoshiko's rebellious stage. At age 14 was when Hoshiko stopped listening to her parents, and began living a quiet yet loveless life in the household after bearing angry whippings and punishments for a week.
General Relationships: Hoshiko respects Willow as a leader and finds Sakura as her most emphatic friend. She also gets along with Momoka and Iris (especially Iris, who she is best friends with) the most, and is in the same easygoing subunit as Emi.
Random Facts:
• Originally, Hoshiko's last name was going to be Minami.
• Hoshiko is a fan of BTS, and regularly watches videos of them during class intervals.
• One of Hoshiko's main reasons for continuing to play the piano is to continue her deceased teacher's legacy.
• Before she began her rebellious stage, Hoshiko had amber eyes and orange-brown hair tied in a long braid.
• Hoshiko doesn't exactly like her name, since she was named to "become her family's star."
