Turquoise
This is Cat_lover321 s Oc DO NOT STEAL
Name: Turquoise
Nickname: Teal
I like the name but I checked, his/her/their scales are aquamarine. There is a slight difference between the colors. If I were them I would probably go by my actual name or something like Turq (Turk) but Teal works nicely. 9/10
Tribe: 75% RainWing, 25% SeaWing
Appearance: Small but muscular, Teal usually keeps their scales a pale aquamarine, with darker splotches running down their back. Their bright blue eyes are large, and can easily make them look cute. They have a short, thick tail, useless gills on their neck, and light blue, freckle-like, light up spots (that a SeaWing have) on their face and tail. They usually wear a fluffy cyan scarf from their dead brother, Blueberry. There's a large burn on their chest and a bite mark on their tail from the group of SkyWings in their backstory.
I like the color choice. I didn't know dragons wore scarves though, it's a nice addition. I like that the scarf has sentimental value to them. What do you mean by useless gills? Do they not work? Can they not use them? 10/10 you answered my Question
Personality: Teal is quiet, and they always getting straight to the point in a conversation, while talking as little as possible. They're very smart, and love to help people with stuff, especially when it revolves around their sexuality or gender. They refuse to murder or physically/mentally hurt anyone, even if the dragon hurts them in a similar way. This is mainly because of their hatred to get blood on their talons, and due to the SkyWings in their backstory, but is also because they know that everyone has something else happening in their life. Although, they can be really stubborn at times, especially toward Homophobics, and maybe a little too kind on occasion.
Likes: Their siblings, LGBTQ+ supporters, hanging out with his friends, flying
Dislikes: Homophobics, Transphobics, Harming other dragons, being alone
Skills/Abilities: Can change their scales to shades of blue, green, and turquoise, has an extremely small amount of venom in their fangs, and they have a few small light up scales like a SeaWing.
I like that they strongly believe that they shouldn't hurt others physically or mentally. I'm not sure how the Skywing in her makes her like that, weren't Skywings rude? They're the ones that had the arenas and the battles! I do like the scales part. 14/15
P.s. you put "his" in the part about the likes you put "hanging out with his friends" just wanted to let you know.
Family:
Mother- Charming- RainWing- Slender and small, she usually has her scales a hot pink that fades to pale pink by the horns, snout, feet, and tail tip, along with complimentary pale magenta eyes. Wears a red and white flower (roses to be specific) crown, a silver ring from Tropic, and occasionally a fluffy pink scarf from Blueberry- Alive
Father- Tropic- 50% RainWing, 50% SeaWing- Muscular and average sized, his scales were mint green, with the same color-shifting scales as Teal, but in large amounts of pale blue splotches that took up almost his entire body. Also had the SeaWing scales that flash, but in lower amounts and with a flash delay. Wore a silver ring due to him and Charming getting married- Murdered by the SkyWings
Transgender Brother- Blueberry- 60% RainWing, 40% SeaWing- Muscular and small, has the same scales as Teal, but usually keeps them the deep blue of his deceased sibling. Has a small amount of flashing SeaWing scales, mainly on his face and underbelly. He has bold violet eyes, which match his fluff purple scarf that he made for himself- Murdered by the SkyWings
Sister- Mint- 80% RainWing, 20% SeaWing- Small and slender, she can change her scales almost as quickly and accurately as a RainWing, but usually keeps them a minty green, to compliment her baby blue light-up freckles (SeaWing trait) and baby blue eyes. She wears a chartreuse (a shade of pale yellow-green) scarf from her brother, Blueberry- Died in the attack on the Hybrid Rescue Program
Brother- Died Before Naming- 50% RainWing, 50% SeaWing- extremely small, he had deep blue scales at birth and never opened his eyes, unknown abilities- Died at birth.
I first want to say that I got the parents mixed up the first time I read through this. You see, Charming is usually used to describe a male (not to be sexist) but that's the mothers name. Tropic is good for either gender but since the mothers name is charming it threw me off a bit. I like the siblings names and appearances and that they're all genetically possible. 9/10
Other: Is non-binary, hence the pronouns used.
Plus five points.
Backstory: (This book takes place in a made-up era where hybrids are growing common, and some of the tribes, especially SkyWings and some NightWings, want to kill them off)
Turquoise, who's nickname is Teal, was born with a purebred RainWing mother and a half SeaWing, half RainWing father. They were born as a male, with a brother and 2 sisters. Sadly, the other brother died shortly coming out of his egg. The parents, Charming and Tropic, were devastated, but at the same time were determined to keep their children hidden and safe. This is exactly what they did...for a while.
But first, we must explain Turquoise's childhood. The 3 remaining kids never went to school...or anywhere but their cave, really. They also felt kind of lonely, being the only male. Although, "he" didn't really feel like a he. Despite these feelings, they got along really well with their siblings. Their parents taught them necessary life skills as they got older, including battle skills, hunting skills, sex ed, and much more. This is how they learned that they can change "his" gender, or not have one at all. Eventually, they decided to tell their parents that they had no gender, and was non-binary. This helped his "sister", Blueberry, reveal that "she" was really a male.
One day, when the children were about 5 (in dragon years), Blueberry, Teal, and their actual sister, Mint, decided to explore outside the den. Little did they know, a group of 3 adult SkyWings found them, and suddenly jumped out of the bushes and attacked the dragonets. While protecting Teal and Mint, Blueberry was brutally murdered by these SkyWings. In fury, Teal and Mint attacked and killed one of the SkyWings, leaving the fight with many scars. After this, Teal realized that the 2 other SkyWings were the dead dragon's brothers, and stormed off in anger and sadness. This is what created Teal's opinion on murder and hurting others.
When the dragonets got home, they found their father dead and their mother severely injured. The living family members went into a depressed state, and were forced to leave their cave. They ran away from the other dragons entirely, all except Teal, who had to go out and steal food for the family. Charming would have done this job if it wasn't for her injuries, not to mention that she was missing a leg from the SkyWing attack.
Eventually, at 8 and a half-ish dragon years, the dragons were found by a Leaf-Silk hybrid, named Autumn, who had run away from his home and was found by something called the Hybrid Rescue Program. Interested, the dragons went with him to a small island just of the maps of Phyrria. After a few days, they decided to make this their forever home, with many other hybrids. This is where Turquoise met their friends and, at 23 dragon years, became the second in command of the Hybrid Rescue Program.
When Teal was 46 dragon years old, SkyWings attacked the island, killing many dragons, including Mint, their twin friends, Pyramid and Landslide, who are Mud-Sand hybrids, and even their crush, who happened to be Autumn. A dragon year later, Teal couldn't bare to be without half of his group, including the ones who he loved dearly. So...you can guess what happened. Teal, as sad as it is, hung themself, and got to see the rest of their family. Now he's happy, in Dragon Heaven... (I forgot if they even go anywhere in the books when they die, so...)
I liked getting to learn their birth gender. The whole backstory was great and then it got really dark at the end which isn't unlike some real people. I like that you added all of the things you did. But two things bother me; when did Blueberry give everyone the scarves, and how does a dragon hang them selves? Wouldn't their natural instincts come in and flap their wings to save their life? That's why it's not possible (I don't think) for a person to suffocate themselves while awake or to drown themselves. (Again, I'm not sure) 18/20 but +5 bonus points for the good description and for making it VERY original. I liked the Hybrid protection program.
Your total points is 60/75
