Faun x Time Travelling! Slay

3rd Person POV

"FAUN!" Slay shrieked as his lover fell to the ground. He rushed over to Faun, and the couple ran away. Slay pulled the knife out of Faun's abdomen, hoping he was still alive. What are you thinking, you idiot? He was stabbed, of COURSE he's dead, the voice inside Slay's head said. "SHUT UP!" Slay told it. He felt for Faun's pulse. Nothing. He tried to hear his heartbeat. Nothing at all.

Faun was dead.

Slay took his body and brought it all the way back to the garden outside their home. He cried for endless nights thinking about the time they spent together, how happy they'd been, and the fact that he'd never see Faun's soft smile, or gorgeous eyes, or adorable wolf form ever again. He looked at the ring he had planned to give Faun before he died. They would've gotten married... Slay never got the chance to tell Faun just how much he loved him.

Then he had an idea.

He worked for hours, which turned into days, into weeks, into months. After 7 months he finally completed his time machine. Time to see if it worked.

Slay started to set the time and teared up thinking about the fact that he might see Faun again.

He woke up in his own bed... curled up next to Faun.

Slay suddenly didn't remember anything that had happened... was that all a dream? He looked up at Faun's sleeping figure. It was a lot more calming than the one Slay had seen. He caressed Faun's face. "Morning, sunshine," he said, causing Slay to jump. "Jesus, Faun, you scared me," he said. Faun laughed. Slay's smile faltered. "What's wrong, babe?" Faun asked.

"I... I had a really weird dream... it was awful... you were dead, and I was depressed... you were killed by a bunch of homophobes who caught us in an alleyway and they aimed at me, but you jumped in front of me and took the hit," Slay explained, tears rolling down his face. "Slay, don't worry... I'm right here..." Faun reassured him.

It wasn't a dream, Slay, and you know it. You know you time-traveled and you know Faun is still at risk... You need to go over everything that had happened, and make sure you save Faun, the voice inside Slay's head said.

It was two days before Faun's death. Slay knew he had to do everything in his power to make sure he didn't make any mistakes. His heart was beating out of his chest.

Slay made a list of every important point of the days.

"Slay?" A voice behind him said, making Slay jump. Faun stood behind Slay wearing a towel around his waist. "Yeah?" Slay asked, blushing. "Where do you want to go today?" he asked. Slay shrugged. Faun kissed his cheek and said, "I guess it's my choice." Slay blushed heavier and nodded sheepishly.

They ended up going to a park. Faun took Slay around a lake. "Hey, I'm going to get you something. I'll be right back, I promise," Faun said, and kissed Slay swiftly before leaving. Slay knew this part of the past already. He put his hands in his pockets, and felt the small velvet box inside. He ran his fingers over it. A couple of tears escaped his eyes. Slay wiped them away quickly.

Faun returned like he had promised. Slay stood up and kissed his forehead to greet him. "For my one and only," he said, offering Slay a bouquet of flowers. Slay hugged Faun. "I love them," he said. Faun's ears perked up and his tail wrapped itself around Slay.

Slay stood back a bit. "Slay?" Faun asked. Slay took a deep breath. "If anything happens to you tomorrow, I just want you to know that I love you more than anything in the world and I never want to lose you," Slay said, and bent down on one knee. Faun gasped and held his hands over his mouth. "So, Faun, will you stay with me forever?" he asked, holding out the ring. Faun hugged Slay tightly, picking him off the ground. "Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!" he exclaimed.

-the next day-

"Slay, I'm serious, tell me what's wrong..." Faun was saying. Slay simply stared down, shaking, his knuckles pale. "Slay! Just tell me!" Faun yelled, grabbing Slay by the front of his shirt. Slay tensed up as if preparing for a hit. Faun set him down and took deep breaths. "I-I'm sorry... but please... tell me... what's up?" he asked. Slay hugged him. "I wish we had more time..." he said. "What?" Faun asked. "I wish me had more time," Slay repeated. "Wh-what does that mean?" Faun asked. "Nothing... can we just... take a walk?" Slay asked. Faun nodded.

Halfway through their walk, a couple walked next to them. Slay's heart was pounding. These were Faun's to-be killers. "So.." one of them started. Slay looked down on the ground. He remembered everything he had to say. He grasped Faun's hand and squeezed it tightly. Slay stayed quiet as the couple and Faun started talking. He didn't listen to what, until Faun grabbed his hand tighter. "Yes, this is my fiance, we're in a same-sex relationship, what are you going to do about it?" he asked. Slay saw something in their eyes. "Faun... run..." he whispered. Faun grabbed Slay's arm and ran away from the couple.

The couple chased them down into an alleyway. Slay had to stop the tears from coming. Faun wouldn't die. He couldn't die. Slay would do everything he could to stop Faun's death.

The man pulled out a knife while the woman stood there watching us creepily. "Slay, stay right where you are!" Faun yelled. Slay remembered what happened. He hadn't listened to Faun, he had tried to move, and Faun turned to him to say to step back, and that's when he was stabbed. Slay knew this was the thing that would stop Faun from dying. So he stayed where he was. Faun stayed facing the front.

It didn't stop it.

He caressed Faun's face. "N-no... you can't be gone... I w-worked so hard to keep y-you here, and I failed... F-Faun, I'm so sorry," Slay said. "D-don't be," a scratchy voice said. "Faun?! You're okay?" Slay asked. "Why w-wouldn't I b-be?it'll take m-more than that t-to kill me," Faun answered.

It worked.
Slays plan worked.
And he had Faun back.
