SPOILERS: Something I'm Working on for the Epilogue
[A/N] Do not read unless you've finished the last Deadly Life chapter of chapter 6! There will be spoilers here.
[A/N #2] Okay so this may count as semi-spoiling my own (mostly unwritten) epilogue, but I really feel like I needed to make these in order to get even remotely motivated to work on this thing. At least half of the epilogue will take place after a roughly two-year timeskip, and I really wanted to make redesigns for the cast. I try to avoid giving away much in terms of story, but hopefully what I do mention is somewhat obvious.
Azumi: A sleeveless turtleneck leotard in hunter green. A detachable skirt piece made of the same material. Lots of small, cream-colored curlicues, also some golden ones. The two closest to her chest meet together to look sort of like a heart. The main material isn't particularly shiny, but the details are. She has a chignon bun and still uses her hair stick, though it's horizontal as opposed to diagonal. She doesn't like shoes, and takes them off basically whenever she thinks she can get away with it, but when she HAS to, they're the most simple gold sandals you can imagine.
Haruto: A white t-shirt and buttercup yellow overalls. He's got some white sneakers with koinobori and lucky cat patterns. His overalls are still covered with clay, but he has a new pair of glasses (still round and golden) that he's managed not to break! His hair is a bit shorter now, to the point where he doesn't need a hair clip to keep it back while he works. He's got an amber-colored beaded bracelet that he made for himself, and quite a few beaded anklets.
Fujiko: A baby blue dress that goes to about knee-length but looks a bit shorter than that because she uses a pretty substantial petticoat for more poof. It's a sweetheart neckline with slightly puffy sleeves that cinch in at and stop at her forearms. A much bolder makeup look than before. Teal holographic highlighter and eyeshadow, with a couple of darker teal gems at the outside corners. White ribbon flats. A double-bun hairstyle similar to what Kana used to wear, but only half-up. A white ribbon choker. She still uses French-tipped fake nails.
Keiji: A pale pink button-up under a grey crew-neck sweater. Dark wash denim jeans, grey suede oxfords. Keiji is still definitely a prep, style-wise, but he's trying to learn how to be more relaxed about it. Browline glasses— he thinks the rounder shape makes him look a bit friendlier. His hair is longer but he makes sure it doesn't get messy (despite Joanie tousling it teasingly very often). Even now, he keeps his watch and tungsten ring. They make him feel like himself.
Kana: She's got two outfits; one for casual, one for ballroom. Casual: A lacy, royal blue tube top and black, high waisted sailor shorts. Blue, heart-shaped sunglasses that she usually keeps on the top of her head. Royal blue slip-on sneakers. Really big, black hoop earrings. A voluminous high-ponytail, side-swept bangs as opposed to her old blunt bangs. Now for her ballroom outfit: A ballroom dress that's primarily sunset orange, with a smidge of cherry red at the bottom. It has a pleated sweetheart neckline and lots of sparkle, especially around the hips. Black heels. Saturn earrings.
Monterio: Two outfits: one for casual, one for ballroom. Monterio doesn't change much. Casual: He's got an oversized plain black t-shirt. His pants are cherry red and black checkered; they cuff at the bottom. Black mid-top cupsole skate shoes. A thick black silicone wristband with lots of yin yang signs. Still has a buzz cut. Sometimes wears a black beanie. Ballroom: A sunset orange Latin dance shirt with a little bit of red sparkle on the sleeves, black dance slacks, black dance shoes. A simple black choker with a Saturn charm. The slightly open shirt shows off his muscles, which Kana thinks is fantastic considering he tends to cover up in their day-to-day lives.
Nari: A dark grey polyester t-shirt. A grey two-toned windbreaker jacket over the top. Khaki cargo pants. Brown leather hiking boots. When she's hiking, she has a big brown hiking backpack. Working compass stud earrings, because she thinks that's the coolest shit. She never shows this off to anyone, but she does have a triskelion tattoo on her lower back. Her hair is in a low ponytail and she doesn't cover her eye anymore. Overall, it's a much more understated look, but she's very happy with it.
Ren: A neon green trench coat lined with black and with black buttons. The coat is usually closed, but underneath it is a loose t-shirt with a neon green smiley face outline. Black jeggings, but everyone just assumes they're skinny jeans ("Fuck that, this is comfier and easier to perform in"). A big black, floppy sun hat with a neon green sash around it. His hair's still blond, is roughly the same length, and is somehow more unkempt than before. Neon green high tops with a bit of a platform. Lots of mood ring bands cause why the hell not? Obviously he's still pasty, but it does look like he's actually been outdoors ever! He rarely ever brings his parasol around anymore, but occasionally uses it as a stage prop. His black earring, but also a septum piercing.
Sayuri: An off-the-shoulder, dark brown ribbed sweater. It covers part of a form-fitting deep-magenta-colored skort (pair of skorts??? Idk the grammar) that goes to mid-thigh. Lighter magenta crocheted sandals with no heels to speak of. She's got a brown canvas messenger bag for carrying writing materials and/or sweets. A tousled bob with short choppy bangs. She kept the same color. Brown cat's eye glasses. She's going less for "picnic" now and more for "kind of hot but still mature librarian."
Tozen: He basically wears the exact same things, because Tozen really likes his style and feels unique in it. A burgundy button-up, light brown suspenders and a khaki bow tie. Khaki pants. A straw boater hat with a burgundy band. Brown oxfords. A pair of black rectangular fake glasses. When he's cooking, he wears an autumn-leaf patterned apron. He has slightly more facial hair now. He occasionally gets confused for a street performer and he loves that reaction.
Wakumi: Generally wears a crew cut whenever she can get it shaved, but it gets a smidge longer when she's on open waters for too long. A brown-and-burgundy, relatively simple pirate coat. A pair of brown pirate boots (Yuu made them for her and she admits to appreciating them but refuses to admit to appreciating Yuu). A plain white shirt, a similar style of pants as before, but brown instead of black-and-white striped. Occasionally wears a burgundy doo rag bandana. No more eye patch. Still very freckly!
Chimon: Keeps his style pretty similar to what it was before, but he doesn't look like a little kid anymore. He lost the baby chub in his face and he's managed to outgrow a decent portion of the cast, roughly matching Kana and Ren. Still skinny, though, and embraces his body. His hair is a little past shoulder-length and he hasn't dyed it, but now has a deep side-part and ditched the hat. A (purposefully) oversized, pale purple pull-over hoodie. Dark wash jeans that fit him well. White trainers, but holy shit, they're not five million years old! He still wears his key necklace, but changed out the old ribbon for a newer one.
Joanie: She still has an Aika costume, but she only wears it for special promotional events. She usually wears a dark brown wig that's about the same length as her Aika one, but the curls are a lot looser and look chunkier than the tight ringlets. She likes black lipstick. A gold metallic wrap top with long sleeves and a pretty deep v-neck. Black jeans that fit her legs well. Black ankle boots with a shimmery gold wing print on the sides, as an homage to the winged boots she wears as Aika.
Yuu: A cream colored, short-sleeved, high-necked shirt with lots of tiny purple polka-dots. Violet-colored jeans. Usually he wears silver derby shoes, but, on rare occasions, he wears silver open-toed wedge heels as exposure therapy. They got a new tool belt and they still wear it constantly, but they try to avoid wearing the gloves unless obsessive thoughts drive them crazy (which is happening less and less often). If you look closely, you can still see Azumi's hair stick poking out of their tool belt. He wears some very pale lilac lipstick when he's not working, and his hair is long enough to keep in a ponytail now.
Hachi: A simple white romper. A flower crown made of peach hyacinths. Peach knee-length socks and white flats. A rose gold leather pouch necklace with some potpourri in it. She still has bardot bangs but her hair is now in a french braid that goes down to mid-back length. She also has a second outfit for a certain occasion that I won't disclose. A tie-front button-up shirt. It's brown and has yellow water lilies. Darker brown wool pants that she sometimes rolls up. Practical boots.
Gou: This is obviously purely hypothetical. I like to think that Gou would eventually feel comfortable enough to not wear his helmet all the time. When he's not wearing his race getup, I can imagine he'd have a pair of pastel red shorts and a white polo. Light brown boat shoes. Basically he looks like a frat boy. In his race get-up, I can imagine him in a dark blue one as he gets older. It's literally the opposite of his orange one, but that could represent turning over a new leaf?
