AN- This character is a part of the Venom/MCU crossover I will be doing. I know technically the Venom movie isn't officially a part of the MCU, but I thought if I was going to be bringing in aliens that prided themselves on mutual bonds then having the species that bond no matter the cost would be the perfect antagonist for them.

History: Matteo Gonzalez Herrera was born to Manuel Gonzalez and Isabella Herrera six years before his younger brother Pablo. After losing his mother and younger brother to a "mugger" who shot them both on their way home from Pablo's school, Matteo and his father were left without answers as to why they were killed. Despite pleas to get justice for his family members, the perpetrator was never pursued because of secret connections to the Life Foundation and sparked Matteo to want to become a journalist to reveal the harsh truths of life no matter the cost or effect to get justice for the people who were being manipulated and kept at the bottom of the socioeconomic pyramid and began following The Eddie Brock Report, looking up to him as an idol.

Over the next few years, Matteo became more withdrawn from his father, dropping out of high school to pursue an early career as a journalist by interning at the Daily Globe, and spending more and more time by himself in an abandoned warehouse where he keeps tabs on suspicious people in hopes that he would find a story that would get him a promotion to investigative street journalist. One day, after getting beat up in an alley one afternoon from trying to follow someone who he thought would lead him to a drug ring operation, even when he put up a fight, Matteo was almost killed if Vengeance hadn't found him, saved him from the thug, and transferred from the dog he was possessing to him. After finding out that Vengeance was only one of six other symbiotes that had been brought to the planet, after he had hitched a ride on the rocket to the disknowledge of the crew, and was lost on the transport to the Life Foundation, jumping from host to host until he bonded to Matteo through a dog, Matteo settled to make a deal with the symbiote, saying they could hunt bad people, but only eat the ones who truly deserve it once he does his research on them.

Matteo met his idol, Eddie Brock, after he tried to stop the mugger in Chen's, but failed, he lied to him saying he was a journalist for the Daily Globe in an attempt to impress him and gave him "his card". Matteo goes with Eddie, after he found him at Chen's, to the Life Foundation when he goes to investigate the deaths of the test subjects and is with Eddie when Venom bonds with him. After witnessing with Eddie the same process that he went through when he first bonded with Vengeance, Matteo tried to help Eddie but didn't reveal to him yet that he was host to another symbiote until Treece and his crew showed up to try and take them in and he had to reveal his powers to fight back. When Eddie finds out that Matteo lied to him, not just about being an intern, but about housing another symbiote, he gets told off and he leaves Eddie to leave the evidence in his boss's office by himself, only coming back when SWAT had outnumbered them to help them. On the car ride to the hospital, Matteo tells Eddie about his lost family members and how he looked up to Eddie and how he thought if he could blow the top off a case like the Life Foundation, then maybe he'd be able to figure out how to get justice for his mom and little brother and give his father some closure. When they got to the hospital and Venom and Eddie separated, Matteo was overpowered by Treece since Vengeance was still technically an outlier symbiote whose technopath powers were vastly different from other symbiotes on his planet and could easily be disrupted. While Eddie was about to be taken out, Matteo was approached and told about how his family could be avenged if he worked with Drake, but he refused after finding out it was Drake who was responsible for their deaths when they refused to be "participants" in a top-secret experiment. Matteo was almost forcibly separated from Vengeance until it was discovered they were more closely bonded than expected and that separating them would result in killing them both. Drake decides to keep Matteo around due to Vengeance's "evolution" from symbiotes and expresses an interest in further experimentation to see how much more Vengeance can develop. During the fight between Venom and Riot, when the six of them were all combined together before Anne separates them, Vengeance is separated from Matteo and he is killed like Eddie. However, before Venom and Vengeance got back to their hosts, Vengeance expressed his desire to Venom to protect Matteo and so he told him to get them both out of there while he went to finish off Riot. After Eddie and Venom recuperate from the rocket explosion, Matteo finds out that Eddie gave him credit for the photos of the Life Foundation and he is promoted to lead street journalist. After Eddie agrees that they could work together, Matteo spends more time with his dad, even telling him about Vengeance, what really happened to his brother and mom, and his jobs.

The Following Takes Place as an Alternate Story from the Main Story

After Civil War, Ash comes to San Francisco on a mission to find out who the two vigilantes are and if they should be feared or not. She runs into the two of them after they follow her into an alley since their symbiotes sensed something off about her. They initiate a fight after Ash finds out about their "Klyntarians", seeing as how they don't get along with Chrysintheans, until the police appear, tipped off about a possible Ion Phoenix sighting. Ash flies off from the fight but is injured by a platinum spearing through her flight pack and side, grounding her and almost leaving her to be captured, but Eddie and Matteo help her by taking her to Eddie's apartment. After she tells them about her mission and they convince her that they and their symbiotes only harm and very rarely kill bad people, she tells them about her own family's experience during the last Klyntarian invasion and her species' mistrust of their species but is willing to let them continue their own mission as long as they keep them under control, not to make too much of a mess, and to let her leave inconspicuously. When she returns to Wakanda, Ash is told not to go into the world for a few years and is devastated by it, but relieved that Eddie and Matteo weren't discovered.

Eventually, the "Symbiosis Duo" comes into contact with Thomas "Tip" Miller who claims that they need their help with saving a friend of theirs and in exchange for their help they wouldn't reveal their identities to the city. While working to find Tip's friend, Matteo and Tip grow closer, sharing their life stories and how they got to where they are in terms of fighting injustices that were done to them and people like them. After defeating "", the two of them stay in contact with Tip acting as Teo's street informant but they also grow closer

In Let There Be Carnage, Matteo is asked by Eddie to come with him to interview Cletus Kasady despite Kasady wanting to speak to Eddie alone. Matteo gets pictures of Kasady's wall and helps him and Venom piece together the burial grounds of some of his victims. After Venom leaves Eddie and Tip and Teo find out the next morning, Vengeance and Matteo were discovered to be bonded with each other by Carnage and Kasady when they were searching the SFPD's database for potential news tips on headless bodies that might be from Venom when they were felt by Carnage's virtual presence within the server and almost pinpointed by him if they hadn't disconnected. Later, Tip finds Venom at the rave when they had gotten a social reminder for the event and saw people posing with Venom there and they tell Teo to meet them there. When they all arrive, Teo and Vengeance want to get Venom out of there as quickly as possible, but Tip tries to get to have some fun and starts admitting their feelings for them when Venom started to die and they all hurry to Mrs. Chen's store to get Venom some food, but end up just leaving him with her once he bonds with her before seeing how Kasady had escaped priso. Afterward, they start trying to figure out where Kasady is going and were on the trail to Francis Barrison AKA Shriek's disappearance, but stop when they see that Eddie had been arrested and Matteo was being hunted down since he was suspected of being Eddie's "accomplice." After Eddie is broken out of jail by Venom, Teo tells Tip to go with Dan and Anne to protect them while he, Vengeance, Venom, and Eddie went to deal with Kasady, Carnage, and Shriek but before they depart, Tip finally admits their feelings for him and even thanks Vengeance for bringing them together and they kiss.
