History: After his parents went missing and were never found, Mason was sent to live with his uncle and aunt in Green Hills. After learning that he was the "Donut Lord" and "Pretzel Lady's" nephew, he saw him as his little brother and swore to protect him from bullies; occasionally showing up to divert them away from Mason with harmless pranks until they eventually left Mason alone entirely. Nicknaming him the "Boy Scholar", Sonic watches after Mason when he ventures into the woods to read and sketch the animals around. In the movie, Mason stays behind in Green Hills with his uncle Tom when he finds Sonic and the three of them are attacked by Dr. Robotnik's robot. Mason insists with his uncle Tom to help Sonic when he tries to send him away and stays with Sonic throughout the whole adventure, even putting on a disguise when he goes into the bar to hide that fact that he was a kid. After saving Tom and Mason from the bar brawl and they stay in the hotel for the night, Mason and Sonic talk about how they each came to come to Green Hills and how Sonic's watched over Mason the whole time he's been there. When the three of them meet back up with Maddie and arrive at the skyscraper where the rings were, Mason stays on the ground where he is taken by Eggman and used as leverage against Sonic while Tom and Maddie were sent back to Green Hills. In the end, after saving Mason and sending Eggman away and Sonic moved in with the Wachowski's, Mason tells Sonic that he always wanted a big brother and that he's glad to know that he's already had one for two years.
