Phobos Ignites into Death Battle!
Just a quick note, this preview is going to be WAY shorter than the previous one. Also, spoiler warning. Phobos belongs to a totally original story based one year after actual My Hero Academia. Go read MHA in America, and it's in-the-works sequel, MHA World before reading through this rundown.
In his youth, Phobos Martellin was a pretty rebellious child. Other than to his parents, he would pull pranks on others, skip classes in school, and even occasionally steal things while shopping. And at first glance, you wouldn't think much of him other than believing he'd grow up to be nothing but a hoodlum.
Yeah, he was like all 6 of the Recess kids all mashed into one. So it's no wonder why people thought this of him. But he only acted like this because he wanted to. If he wished to step up his act, he could totally just drop a knowledge bomb anytime he wanted.
And, of course, as this is in the world of My Hero Academia, Phobos eventually manifested a quirk. And a powerful one at that. Similar to the number one hero, Endeavor, and highly dangerous villain, Dabi, Phobos acquired a quirk that let him wield fire. But his was a cut above the rest.
Phobos' quirk was "Black Flame," and yes, it's literally what it sounds like. He can create and manipulate black fire, which is so freakin' hot that it can burn away other flames! Somehow! That is some Sasuke level shit right there.
Full Name: Phobos Martellin
Hair Colour: Medium length/Black
Eye Colour: Brown
Age: 16
Hero Codename: "The Hellish Hero: Demonic Flame"
The Strongest Offensive Quirk wielder
The quirk was a bit of a burden at first as Phobos' reckless nature made it difficult to control his quirk at times, but eventually he learned to wield it with expert tactics. And it also helped when he had clothes made for him which were laced with the strongest metals to they wouldn't burn up like his normal clothes would. That would happened quite a bit, plus Phobos would accidentally catch fire to his house a few times.
Nah, him and his family got through it. And despite his immature attitude, Phobos still had a very close friend throughout most of his life. In Kindergarten, he met his lifelong friend, Harper Leesons, who acquired another totally awesome quirk. The power to turn her dreams into reality! But since her quirk is completely random each day, it's impossible to tell what she could use for a fight, which is why she's been excluded from this Death Battle. And besides, Phobos is the real powerhouse here. He's the one everyone's come to see.
Correct, and over the years, the two became inseparable, growing a tight bond with one another. And, upon them turning 16, they decided to take their lives to the next level. Both seemed to have the same idea in mind for when they grew up. Inspired by the cartoons and even real world events that they witnessed, the two wished to become superheroes. And their first step? Enroll into the top hero school in the whole country, no less. And it just so happened to be located in their own home city of Philadelphia.
This was Persevering Heights Academy, or P.H, for short. And unlike U.A, where you just take a single entrance exam and find out if you made the cut, P.H decides things over several months, taking in each registered student for the hero program and testing them physically, mentally, and so much more. The top 32 make the cut, and Phobos and Harper were both able to be part of that 32. Also unlike U.A, who typically looks for more power related quirks, P.H focuses on versatility, choosing to have heroes who aren't just one trick ponies. So Phobos and Harper were prime choices.
Indeed they were. However, on the day they were supposed to begin classes, they ran into trouble before even arriving at P.H. What became an average trip to the local bank to pick up some money turned deadly when a trio of thugs stormed in to rob the place. Phobos and Harper, seeing themselves as wannabe heroes, decided to take action and face the thugs, and a third student even appeared as well, the diamond hard Amelia. The three struggled however, with the thugs overwhelming them.
But then a pro hero showed up, wielding a quirk that let her turn into a human/wyvern hybrid. With her combination of fire and paralyzing venom, she effortlessly whooped those thugs asses. She scolded the three students but then offered them a quick ride to P.H as she was heading there too. Turns out, that Amelia girl was also a new student to the hero course, but she ended up in Class 2, whereas Phobos and Harper ended up in Class 1. Yeah, there's no class 1-A in this school, it's just numbers, so class 2 would be our Class 1-B in this story, only they don't get shut out near enough than they do in actual MHA.
Exactly. And after being dropped off by the pro hero and realizing they were late, they all rushed to their new homeroom classes. And for Phobos and Harper, upon arrival, they discovered that the pro hero that brought them to P.H was actually their homeroom teacher! She was the incredible, the badass, and the fiery: Wrath Queen! You may know her from Cry's rundown. She is his mother, and current rank 12 Hero over in Japan, and number 45 overall in the world.
What's a hero from Japan doing in America, teaching a class at its top school? We'll talk about that later if we don't forget, hehe. Anyways, day 1 of class went well for everyone, with all 16 students in the class introducing themselves, and some standing out more than others. Besides Phobos and Harper, we had the epic powerhouse, Josh Masterson; the Bakugo of this story who doesn't yell, Lisa Burrows; and even the electric but gloomy girl, Tika! It was a colourful mix of versatile quirks. And upon receiving their hero costumes, the class officially began their days of learning to become real heroes.
From basic rescue training to combat training, to teamwork training, their first few days were being spent well. Wrath Queen was tough on her students but only because she had to. But she equalized that toughness with compassion and support, and each student was able to grow at exceptional rates. Phobos growing faster than most as his powerful quirk put him ahead of the pack.
But things took a huge turn once it came time for the first field trip. This trip was a joint one between classes and each would send out 3 of its students to participate for a few days, then when they'd return, the next set of 3 from each class would go out. Josh, Harper, and Phobos were up first from Class 1, and Amelia, Fan-Fave ghost girl, Kira, and non-stop talker, Anne, came from Class 2. Wrath Queen took them all out to the nearest national park where they'd do a real life rescue mission, searching the terrain for their targets, retrieve them, and bring them back to safety.
The 6 students were broken up into three pairings, one from each class in a pair. For Phobos, he was paired with Amelia and after being given their route and a flare gun in case of emergencies, the two were off, as were the other 2 pairs. The two traversed their path for quite some time, with the sun actually going down which was expected to happen from their teacher. However, once they arrived at their supposed destination in the dead of night, they found nothing. Their target/rescue victim was nowhere to be seen. Instead, all they found was puddles of blood.
Yeah, turns out an unknown group of villains who call themselves "The Injustice Squad," found out about this little field trip and decided to crash the party. And, you know, kill the students. The Squad consisted of only 4 members at the time, but only 3 were present at the site. For Phobos and Amelia, they ran into who might be the best villain in this story(except for maybe 1), Daina.
Daina is completely ruthless, having no care for the hero society for how she and her younger sister had been treated and cared for in their past. Her deadly quirk, while not intimidating at first glance, or just from how it sounded, was one that shouldn't be trifled with. Similar to popular Leave of Villains member, Mr. Compress, Daina's quirk "Squash," let her shrink and compress a person while she had a grip on them. She shrinks a person skin, whilst keeping their internals the same until there's no room left and the victim, quite literally, explodes. Even Amelia, who could briefly turn her skin to diamond, fell prey to this horrifying quirk. Luckily, neither her nor Phobos died in this encounter with Daina.
Thanks to some bold strategies from Amelia, Phobos was able to land a deadly shot to Daina which made her retreat back to where her boss was. The same was said for the villain, Shield, who found himself against Harper and Anne somewhere else in the Park. However, for Josh and Kira, they were the unlucky ones. They encountered the leader of the Injustice Squad, and the other contender for top villain in this story. His name was Markus Wheeler, and he has one of the strongest quirks out there, maybe even on par with Phobos' for strongest offensive capabilities. Markus' "Crush" quirk let him emit huge amounts of raw energy into blasts or for amping up his physical attacks. Josh and Kira struggled to do anything at all, but everything changed once Wrath Queen arrived on the scene to do battle with Markus.
Markus' companions, as well as all the other students arrived on the scene, but both Wrath Queen and Markus refused help from all the others as this was a mighty battle fit for only them. The two began their brutal brawl and seemed evenly matched. However, Markus quickly amped up his power and stopped holding back, beginning to land deadly blows which were breaking Wrath Queen's bones. However, once Wrath Queen stabbed Markus with her venomous tail, the battle looked to be over. Her venom fully paralyzes an opponent, even one who's 40ft tall, in just a minute, and it quickly worked on Markus.... or so everyone thought.
When she turned her back, Markus revealed he could still move, even through the paralysis. He struck Queen with her guard down, blowing a whole straight through her chest, and destroying several organs and a large section of her spine. And as she went down, believed to be dead, the three villains set their eyes on the students. But somehow, SOMEHOW, Queen got back up! Her whole body set ablaze and she unleashed her ultimate technique, the Wyvern Fury and delivered that awesome, incredible, and badass final blow to Markus, sending him flying from a colossal explosion to the face! Oh, and Daina and Shield took off too. But Queen blacked out afterwards, leaving the injured students to try and find a way to help her, without their phones since Queen took them all away before they all went out into the national park.
Luckily for all of them, Queen had her own phone on her, and thankfully, it wasn't password protected. Phobos snatched it and called the first number listed in it. And it couldn't have been a better one. With a teenage boy answering on the other end, Phobos explained the situation to the boy and was told to wait for him to arrive in a few seconds. At first, they were al taken aback as they had no idea how this person could find them or arrive in that short of a time. But, with the appearance of a portal out of thin air, a teenage boy emerged, clad in a U.A High uniform, and with a diamond right arm and burned in hand print on the right side of his face. This was Tenshonoma Cryshiki, or as you all know him, Cry.
He's back, bitches! And Cry certainly helped them out a lot, bringing everyone with him back through his portal into U.A where they were taken to the infirmary. Queen was put on life support and would be out of commission for quite a while, but for everyone else, their injuries were healed in no time. And unfortunately, the students had to be taken back to P.H without their teacher. But, they returned with Cry and his girlfriend, Jiro in tow, as, after he and U.A's principal had a long discussion, it was determined that Cry should take over as temporary instructor for Class 1 at P.H until Wrath Queen returned, as he is the one who'd know her ways of teaching the best.
Honestly, there was no better of a time for Cry to become the instructor. The Decennial(Annual but for 10 years) International Sports Festival was right around the corner. And with Cry being the current U.A champion, and Jiro being part of it up to the second round, their knowledge of how the competition works would come in vital. Now, unlike the U.A Sports festival, this one is a competition between the top 4 school in the whole world. P.H represented America, U.A for Japan; Queen's Strong Academy of the United Kingdom, and finally, Gregorvsky Alpha Academy of Russia. And one year level would be chosen to compete in the event. P.H had its first years chosen, both U.A and Queen's Strong had their second years, which meant Cry and Jiro would be competing, and for Gregorvsky Alpha, it was their third years.
The students were given a week to train, and besides maybe Josh, Phobos used his time better than anyone else, learning dozens of new moves which he'd use well in the upcoming festival. And once that legendary day arrived, it was time for him to show his stride. Having been told about the top students from each of the other schools, he knew how tough the challenge ahead was. Queen's Strong's top student was Trini Williams, and her ESP quirk made her almost untouchable. Basically, she was like Tatsumaki was OPM but WAY nicer. From Gregorvsky Alpha, their top student was the mighty Sergei Bolochov, and his Demon quirk let him transform into an incredible powerful and damn near unbeatable monster. And from U.A, you guessed it, their top student is Cry and his uber powerful and versatile Reality quirk.
The festival itself was to be held in three rounds, the first two both being a race, but the second part being in pairs. And by the end of the first half of the race, Phobos stood out as he made it into the top 10. He easily made it to round 2 as the top 60 students moved on. Then, in a shocking development, he paired up with Lisa, the bookworm bitch, as she promised that, if he helped her made it to the final round, she'd forfeit if she had to fight him. Pretty much everyone knew this was a lie, but Phobos went through anyways and with only the top 8 pairs moving on to the finals, they had to be fast. Luckily, Phobos' flame quirk allowed him to fly so he and Lisa could go over most obstacles in their way. They ended in 3rd, a solid entry going into the third and final round, the knockout bracket.
Phobos began in the opening fight, and he was pitted with one hell of an opponent. The Icy-Hot master from U.A, Shoto Todoroki. Now, at first glance, you'd think Todoroki would have a massive advantage being able to use fire like Phobos and ice on top of it, but you'd be dead wrong. Phobos outclassed Todoroki in every way. Remember, Phobos' quirk produces fire so hot that it burns away other flames, and with it so hot, it easily melted away his ice. So Todoroki was swiftly dealt with. Phobos even showing off one of his most powerful moves! The Gigaton Wildfire!
Techniques:
Jet Burn
Black Flare
Fiery Axe Kick
Black Flare Blade
Gigaton Wildfire
Black Wrath
Dark Nova
The Gigaton Wildfire is one of Phobos' strongest techniques, but also one of his riskiest. Using it requires him to use around 50% of his stored flame, so if it doesn't knock out an opponent, he could end up in hot water. But luckily for him, it wiped away any and all Todoroki threw at him and advanced the young first year to the quarter finals. Buuuut, the level of competition only escalated from here onward. For Phobos, his next opponent was the top student of Gregorvsky Alpha, Sergei. Their battle began and Phobos found himself on the back end, with Sergei's demonic form being able to somewhat resist Phobos' black fire. Even Sergei's hellfire breath could just match Phobos'.
But a good defense can only last so long. After Phobos unleashed his Gigaton Wildfire again, he began to wear Sergei down, and in an ultra risky move, Phobos pushed both Sergei and himself out of the ring. However, since Sergei technically left the boundary first, Phobos was given the win and advanced to the semi finals. Honestly, at this point, it's safe to say Phobos had the toughest lineup of opponents because his next one was the top student of Queen's Strong, Trini! And her ESP was more than a match for Phobos' flames. She could easily take control of them and turn them back on Phobos, or just try and fling him out of the arena. Phobos could resist thanks to the propulsion of his fire, but things weren't looking too good.
However, in Trini's previous match where she faced Josh, him and Phobos had promised to meet each other in the semis, which Trini obviously broke. And in your typical anime style of the power of friendship, Phobos found the strength to surpass Trini. He revealed a hidden ability of his when he unleashed his Gigaton Wildfire once more. He and Trini were essentially in a shoving match with the giant ball of flames, but Trini can only focus on just one, two, and sometimes 3 things with her quirk. But, Phobos could do more than just conjure and shoot his flames. He can manipulate it as well. In the midst of their shoving match, Phobos used his quirk to split up the fireball into 6 streams of fire, way more than what Trini can control with her quirk. She was bombarded and overwhelmed, leading to a brilliant knockout and Phobos receiving a spot in the grand championship where he awaited his next opponent.
As you've probably guessed, one of his possible opponents was Cry, but he had to do battle with Bakugo just like the year before in the U.A festival. Their battle was a real nail biter but Cry won in the end, giving us a true clash of the titans for the final match! And in the most epic battle in any Sports Festival history, Phobos and Cry tore up everything! Matching each other blow for blow, neither of them wanted to go down! Phobos even revealed he can create his flames from his feet too, taking Cry by surprise which has been proven to be hard to do. But, when Phobos' Gigaton Wildfire failed to KO Cry; Cry capitalized by unleashing one of his strongest moves, the Absolute Mass Hammer!
By vibrating his diamond arm at a high frequency, the mass of Cry's punch increases immensely, with the power output resting at about 200 tons of TNT. And Phobos took this attack head on, and somehow, he actually got back up. But the damage was taking its toll, on both boys. And they both had a clear idea in mind, to finish the fight with the next attack. So, they both went all out, charging up their ultimate moves. For Cry, he started channeling One for All itself, and if you remember from his rundown, he can only use it at 100% or not at all, so this was a massive attack he was going for. And, for Phobos, he was using his newest move that he perfected right before the festival started, the Black Wrath.
The Black Wrath is incredible! By using all his reserve flames and channeling it into one spot on his body, in this case his right fist, the power output increases to astronomic levels of destructions. Phobos created this move after witnessing Wrath Queen's Wyvern Fury technique, and you could tell it was an idea from her as Phobos even grows a flaming dragonic wing from the right side of his back. And with the two fully charged, they went in for their colossal clash!
With an explosion that reached up to the very clouds themselves, both boys somehow remained standing after being hit with so much power from either side. But both of their quirks had been completely drained, and all they could do was throw light punches at each other. But all things had to come to an end, and one eventually did fall. When all was said and done, Phobos stood tall, and Cry fell in defeat. Phobos was crowned champion of the world for the next decade, and victory was brought to P.H Academy.
Wait, wait, wait! How could Cry lose when he didn't go all out!? Yeah he used One for All at 100%, but what about his incarnate forms, you know, the fire, lightning, and plasma forms!? He never went into any of those!
That's true, but the reasoning behind that is because Cry didn't want to kill Phobos. Sure, Phobos could absolutely deal with the Fire God Incarnate form, but the same most likely cannot be said about the Thunder and Plasma forms. Cry uses those as absolute last resorts in life or death situations, and this was far from one of those, thus is why they didn't appear. However, it truly would've been fascinating to know who would've won if he did unleash them.
Gotcha. Anyways, Phobos' injuries from the festival made it so he had to sit out during the next big arc, but some major stuff happened during it which we'll briefly cover. Internships were going on and Cry took out 5 students from Class 2. One of them got kidnapped by a pair of awesome vigilantes named Twilight and Pein, and they used her to help them spy on a gathering of villains one night. Turns out that villain group was the Injustice Squad, and their numbers had increased from a meager 4 to a more intimidating 11. And with them having received some drugs known as Trigger, the situation became pretty dire once the student and the vigilantes were found and captured. But, before they could be killed, Cry and the other students he took out showed up, with Cry having informed the police of the Squad's whereabouts.
A huge battle broke out, with the vigilantes teaming up with Cry and the students to try and take down the Injustice Squad. However, the inexperience of the P.H students took its toll and they became overwhelmed. And so, in an act of self-sacrifice, Cry transported all the students and the vigilantes away to do battle with the Injustice Squad all by himself until the authorities arrived. In a 10 vs 1 battle, Cry managed to defeat 9 of them, and this was all after having majority of his ribs shattered and being impaled by a small metal rod through his lower left chest. However, once Markus took a dose of the Trigger serum, which temporarily increases a quirks output tenfold, Cry was done for. But, in a final act, and believing himself to die here, Cry uses his Absolute Mass Hammer to destroy the building they stood in, collapsing everything down onto everyone.
Buuuut, the victory was hella short lived. The member named Shield used his barrier quirk to protect everyone from the debris, even Cry who succumbed to his wounds and had blacked out. But, instead of killing Cry, they kidnapped him instead and did an experiment on him. They somehow implanted false memories into his brain and removed his actual ones by removing blood from it, and when it was all over, Cry believed he was Markus' son! Yep! So the Injustice Squad just got themselves one hell of a big gun!
That's far from the worst. With Cry, the Squad coul greatly advance their plans. Cry created a nuclear bomb for them, then took it upon himself to acquire the Squad some leverage over the heroes. Now, prior to all this, Cry and Jiro had actually taken residence at Harper's home, so knowing where she lived, Cry infiltrated Harper's place and attempted to kidnap her. And after stabbing Jiro, he got his hands on her. But, before he could steal her away, at last, Wrath Queen returned, and she was horrified to see what had happened to her son. But even so, Cry portalled himself and Harper away, giving the Injustice Squad the leverage they needed.
And with everything they needed, the Injustice Squad began their grand plan. By destroying all of Philadelphia with their nuke, it would send a message to all villains and outcasts in the country, for them to rise up and take back what is rightfully theirs, what they've been wronged over. And they greatly got the advantage by, firstly destroying every single hero agency in the city, killing well over 100 pro heroes at once, and then trapping all students and staff inside P.H academy, including Phobos, and filling it with paralyzing gas. However, classes 1 and 2, plus a few other students, and Wrath Queen, were able to escape the gas and split up to deal with all the necessary threats. A group went out to take out the nuke, while the rest went out to deal with the Injustice Squad.
Phobos was part of Wrath Queen's larger group who went to take out the villains. However, upon reaching their destination, all of them were swiftly broken up into smaller groupings and each would have to face a villain on their own. For Phobos, Josh, and Amelia, they found themselves on the route to the top of the building they were invading. And once they reached the top, they, of course, came face to face with Markus. But before a fight broke out, he informed the three of where and who was caring for poor Harper at the time. And after hearing this, Phobos, without a second thought, left Josh and Amelia to go off and save his best friend. Honestly, dick move from him.
Kinda have to agree there. Anyways, he eventually found Harper and she was being guarded by Daina. Harper had been hooked up to a crane and had an anchor attached to her legs, so if Daina wanted to, she could drop Harper straight down into a watery grave. Now, with this threat in mind, Phobos couldn't really do much or else Harper would die, so Daina got a free shot on him when, she quite literally shot him in his knee. Phobos went down and Daina went in for the killing blow by firing at his head. It looked like the shot connected and Phobos fell back into the water. But when Daina went to inspect to see if there was a body, Phobos leaped out of the water and pushed her in, simultaneously removing her gun from the equation. Wait, how did Phobos not get shot in the head if Dains was easily able to shoot him in the leg?
When he was shot in his knee, Daina pulled the gun out quickly, catching Phobos by surprise and giving him no time to react. When she shot at his head, he had that time, and using his quirk, he created a layer of heat around his body so hot, but transparent, that when the bullet came in contact, it melted away instantly. And when Daina came back up onto the barge they were fight on, she was forced to do battle using only her quirk, which, if you remember back when Phobos fought her before, that didn't go so well.
But things went a bit different this time. Daina had one of those Trigger drug things with her and she injected it all into her system. So, her quirk got that giant boost in power. It was such a boost that Daina could now grab the air itself and squash it down, meaning anything within the space she's grasping will be crushed too. So, Phobos was nearly turned into paste. But if he died, then it meant Harper would die, and he refused to let that happen. So he found the strength to push past everything! To go beyond! Sorry, couldn't help myself. He ignited his ENTIRE BODY, and literally began expanding the air itself, countering Daina's squashing quirk and giving him the change to unleash his final strike, the Dark Nova! And a huge explosion messed up Daina's face and sent her crashing into the crane holding Harper. But, in a bitch move, Daina hit the release button on the crane, sending Harper falling into the water where she sank like a rock thanks to the anchor.
Phobos had a choice to make: Either save Harper and let Daina escape, or take down Daina and let Harper die. Naturally, he went with the first option, dove into the water and freed Harper before she could drown by melting through her restraints. In fact, Phobos' flames are so versatile and hot that they can ignite even when fully submerged in cold water, or even where there's a lack of oxygen itself. Neither of those should be possible! But he can do them, I guess. So he saved Harper, and Daina got away, as did 3 other members of the Injustice Squad. And, AT LAST, Phobos and Harper tied their knot and expanded their relationship, becoming boyfriend and girlfriend just in case everyone else failed and the city gets blown up. They'd die together. However, when the time for the nuke to go off came around, nothing happened, meaning the ones who went to stop it succeeded.
And upon returning to some of the action, they found Josh still squaring off with Markus in a shipyard, with Amelia nowhere to be seen. Don't worry, she didn't die. And that's when a revelation was discovered! Markus is Josh's real father! Yep, it's the old "I am your father," shtick, but this one was hella emotional. Go read the story to see why. Anyways, it was now three against one in this epic final battle. Josh and his super amped up roid muscles thanks to being injected with a Trigger Drug, Phobos and his busted black flames, and Harper's dream quirk, which let her turn into a 100ft tall person! Now that is what I call a mad combo to take on Markus' crush quirk which can bust mountains.
Their battle was rough, and the shipyard was absolutely destroyed. But all things must come to an end. In an epic final clash, Josh and Phobos unleashed their strongest attacks, with Phobos using the Black Wrath. Markus fought back, but in the end, the two teenagers edged him out and landed that final blow. Markus went down, and the heroes won out at the end of the day. Almost all of the Injustice Squad had been bested that day, with only 4 remaining and having fled to an unknown location. And as for the brainwashed Cry, in a fight with Wrath Queen that tore up the city, his mind became twisted and he forgot who he was. He fled into this air and is still on the run to this day. And we would cover some of the events that occur in the next book, MHA World, but as it isn't finished yet, we don't want to spoil any of that stuff for you. Plus, Phobos hasn't actually gained any new moves or better feats in it, so there's no real point in looking into it anyways. So let's get on to some of those feats!
To find Phobos' max strength, we actually have to compare him to Cry. Since Phobos was able to match Cry when he was using OFA at 100%, we can scale him to that which means Phobos can hit with that same power output. And in Cry's rundown, we found out that his top strength feat came out to over 11 Gigatons of TNT! That's just crazy! And Phobos beat Cry too, tanking his hits left and right!
Correct. To find out Phobos' max durability, we have to look at the hits he took from Markus. While you're thinking he should be able to take 11 Gigatons worth of damage since he resisted Cry's One for All, that's not actually the case. When two equal forces clash, they push back against the full force of an attack, reducing the actual power output of both attacks. However, if only a single attack is used from just one person, all that energy is fully dispersed onto whatever it makes contact with. Markus claims his Crush quirk can level mountains, and seeing some of his own feats, he can back up this claim. So, we'll use the average size of a mountain in the world as a base and use that to determine the survivability of Phobos.
And average mountain sits at over 3000 metres in height, and well over 4000 metres in diameter. Taking these dimensions into account and assuming that the mountain is composed of a granite material, the most naturally occurring type of rock, then the blast yield to destroy it would come out to around 5.73 Gigatons of TNT! That's nearly 115 times stronger than the largest nuke ever detonated in the real world, and that was 50 Megatons!
It's no wonder why Phobos is so hard to kill. And with his max strength and durability now calculated, we move on to his speed. And once again, to find this we must scale him to other characters. Looking at Todoroki, he can be scaled to Bakugo who was able to dodge Tokoyami's Dark Shadow. Dark Shadow once intercepted and blocked Kaminari's lightning, and Bakugo was able to dodge this speed! Cry compares to this too, who Phobos certainly matches, so Phobos can move at top speeds comparable to lightning. Over 200,000 MPH.
Damn, this kid is nuts. But there's another thing we have to look at too. And that's his quirk itself. In his battle with Cry, Phobos ignited his flames when there was no oxygen in the air, plus Phobos could still ignite his flames underwater too. Phobos has gone on record to say that his flames are twice as hot at the surface of the sun, which could explain how he could ignite the flames beneath water, but not from the oxygen lack. To do this, Phobos' quirk would actually have to be, at minimum, 3 times hotter than the sun. On average, the sun is about 9,900 degrees fahrenheit. So this would put Phobos at temperatures well over 29700 degrees! The dude is like a walking solar flare!
It's no wonder why Phobos is the top student at P.H. I mean, just look at his accomplishments from just a few months of attending the academy.
Feats:
Perfectly copied signatures moves of Endeavor and Wrath Queen
Withstood being crushed by Daina's quirk
Intercepted a bullet after it was fired
Achieved 1st Place in the International Sports Festival
Given the title "The Next Endeavor," by All Might himself
Defeated: Todoroki, Sergei, Trini, Markus(with help from Harper and Josh), and Cry
He makes all flame quirk users jealous with accomplishments like these. He could take them all down thanks to the sheer might of his fire alone. And if I had to pick between him or Markus on who had the most offensive quirk, i'd go Phobos hands down. Nothing is putting these flames out. Especially if they could ignite in a place like space!
Phobos just might have to greatest quirk of all time itself. One that could even be better than the evolving One for All. Villains beware, because this hero is out there. And he will be there to save the day.
