~Story~

Born in the heart of Brooklyn, New York, Tommy James De Luca had lived a tough childhood, where he was raised by his single mother after his father had left for another woman.

Growing up with a mother who was a big wrestling fan, Tommy be interested in the likes of Kurt Angle, Rob Van Dam, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and many more, but he didn't know how to join up as he now wanted to become a professional wrestler.

However, Tommy's mother had connections to Thomas Laughlin, AKA Tommy Dreamer, who was his mother's high school crush turned best friend, stayed in touch with her after graduating and offered to train De Luca at Devon's wrestling school in Winter Park in Florida.

Training with one half of the legendary Dudley Boyz, Tommy managed to become one of Team 3D's aspiring protégés and really putting in the work, despite not being an athlete nor participating in any sports whatsoever.

Making his debut at 23 years old, Tommy had shown how much of a prodigy he happened to be, but his character needed depth and relatability, so he took inspiration from Dreamer's connections to the Italian mob in Brooklyn, in New York, where he would dress in a white tank top, jeans, black leather jacket, and converse.

However, the change in appearance worked as it shot Tommy to the top of the card, getting him a chance to win title after title in ROH, PWG, and EVOLVE.

That would all come to a tragic end as on February 28th, 2018, because while Tommy was wrestling, he looked for a Moonsault off the top rope, but the ropes were slippery to where when he looked to perform the move, he slipped and landed on his head, where his neck buckled, causing many of the discs to separate.

At the hospital, the surgeons performed emergency surgery to where the damage done to Tommy's neck was so bad that he was forced to retire from wrestling indefinitely.

Announcing his retirement on Twitter, in tears, Tommy thanked all the wrestlers and people who helped him become one of the best wrestlers on earth, but it didn't stop him from becoming an authority figure.

Taking up the act as a manager to some of wrestling's biggest stars, Tommy managed to get a managerial license, where he didn't have to take any bumps and only trash talk when he has to.

In late September of 2019, Tommy would arrive in Japan to manage some wrestlers, he didn't know where to begin as many of the performers didn't have room in their apartments or De Luca to stay in, but a Japanese-Italian girl named Eimi Matsudo, better known as Giulia in World Wonder Ring Stardom, would offer Tommy a chance to room with her until he finally gets an apartment of his own.

Looking back on the time Eimi helped him adjust to his new surroundings in Japan, Tommy would talk about in an interview with Busted Open Radio, stating,

"Many of the wrestlers had no room for me, and I was like, 'Eh, that's fine, I can manage. Not the first time I lived on the streets.' However, Giulia, she's such a darling, we get along to this day. She let me be her roommate for a while until I made enough money in New Japan to help me get my own place. I'm never ungrateful for her because if I didn't know anybody in Japan, I'd have been less successful. She was also someone I could rely on if I ever needed anything and whenever Eimi needed anything, she would call me, you know? And I'd do the same for her."

Joining Eimi's faction of Donna Del Mondo, every member would adapt the look of the Italian mob in Italy and New York, where Tommy would adapt the hat, glasses, fur coat, three piece suit and dress shoes, dubbing himself as The Underboss, a deputy in the mob, considering how fitting his new look with DMD was.

A few months into 2020, Tommy was praised by how well he worked with everyone in Stardom and how respectful he was to the girls, even helping some of them with their work inside the ring, but it would get them to round up whatever money they earned from wrestling to pay Tommy's first month's rent on his first apartment in Tokyo for his birthday, as a way of paying him back for all that he's done to help them.

Looking back on that moment of his life, Tommy would recall,

"When I learned that they paid the first month of rent to the apartment for me, I was in tears because I didn't think I'd have friends like that. I was always a loner and for them to pay for a rent that I was supposed to pay for the first time, it really made me realize that there are people in this world who care.

I still get emotional about it because of how sweet and how kind those girls are, but I don't take that lightly because there are sometimes people who aren't and I have to be aware that not everyone was going to be friendly and welcoming, and that was the same case when Hana died, you know?"

On May 23rd, 2020, a day in Japanese wrestling that will live on in infamy, as 22 year old wrestler Hana Kimura, a prodigy in professional wrestling, had died from suicide due to nonstop bullying on social media.

Eimi, one of Hana's best friends, would share the news to Tommy in tears, over the phone as Tommy would try his hardest to console his best friend over the phone, helping her let it all out as they would meet later on, when Eimi would visit him as the two would spend time together, still sad about their friend dying.

Ironically, Hana's passing would deepen their friendship as the two were now inseparable, best friends, partners-in-crime, and Tommy would always come to her aid whenever she needed it as Eimi would do the same.

Being allowed to cut promos, Tommy would unleash his loudmouthed side, talking trash on the wrestlers Eimi would wrestle and just be that much of a jerk to where he would trip some of the wrestlers DMD would fight behind the referee's back whenever he could.

Many fans were conflicted on having a male manager in an all-female wrestling promotion, but they soon embraced it as Tommy became popular with the fans due to how charitable he can be as DDM would be babyface at one point.

For example, after a match, a young fan was crying that his favorite wrestler lost, so Tommy took up the task of cheering the kid up by patting its back and consoling him while offering a picture and giving away the sunglasses he would wear on the way to the ring.

During this run with Stardom, even if it was an all-female promotion, Tommy and Mai Sakurai would fall in love and be together for a year, until January of 2024, Eimi would announce the disbandment of Donna Del Mondo, forcing Tommy to leave Japan for America, where he would sign with WWE to become a member of the D'angelo Family in NXT, breaking up with Mai.

However, the breakup would be very respectful, as it was Tommy's dream to manage people in WWE, but Eimi would sign with WWE in April during Wrestlemania season, shocking Tommy to his core, but it was reported that Eimi had to help Rossy Ogawa with his newest promotion, Dream Star Fighting Marigold before she could wrestle in NXT.

Eimi would promise Tommy that she would come back once Marigold had gotten off the ground, but little did she know, Tommy managed to find out the last show she would be a part of, surprising her at the going away party the new company had for her before going to NXT.

The two would catch up and become friends again, as Tommy would offer Eimi a room in his apartment until she finally had her own place, but later on, Eimi would start to fall for Tommy, unknown to the pain in his heart after the breakup with his ex-girlfriend Mai.

Would she succeed in mending his broken heart?
