~Story~
Born in Matawan, New Jersey, Michael Sytch was seen as an abomination to his birth mother Tammy, AKA Sunny in WWE, while Chris Candido took him in as his own son and embracing him for who he was.
In early 2005, months before Michael's father's death, Tammy would take a glass bottle, break it and looked to kill her own boyfriend after one too many drinks, but Chris saved himself, but who he couldn't save was Michael, who was caught in the crossfire, getting strapped in his right eye with his.
Chris would take Michael to the hospital, where his eye was very much damaged to where he couldn't see out of that eye, causing Michael to wear an eyepatch for the rest of his life.
It would be the last straw for Chris as he would break up with Tammy, but it wouldn't last long as Chris would die to acute pneumonia, causing Michael to be fatherless and forced to live with his birth mother.
What made things worse is that Michael would be subjective to Tammy's abuse. Over every little mistake he made, Mike would be rewarded with a slap or a punch to his face and whenever friends were over or in school, he would be asked what happened to him, forcing the poor kid to make excuses like, "I fell", "I tripped", or "walked into a wall by accident".
What also made things even more worse is that Michael would get bullied for having an eyepatch, kids calling him names and insulting him, as "One Eye" would be one of them, and every time Michael comes home to tell Tammy, she would laugh it off as no big deal, forcing him to feel alone with no one to talk to.
Michael would continue the facade until Peggy Rae, his grandmother on his dad's side, would visit them and check on Michael, but she would come to find out that Tammy, her would've been daughter-in-law, was abusing her own son all this time, forcing Peggy Rae to take Michael away from Tammy and sue her own daughter for custody, which she won.
Getting Michael medical treatment on his wounds, Peggy Rae would promise to give the poor boy the life she never got to have and proved that once Michael got discharged from the hospital, they went out for ice cream.
Following a very close friend of Tammy's, Tommy Dreamer, Michael would watch him wrestle, but in 2011, an outrage would ensue as it was revealed his abusive birth mother was being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Peggy Rae, Michael's grandmother on his father's side, would take himself to the internet, and give out his response:
"My daughter going in the hall of fame should never happen as it's the stupidest decisions ever made by WWE. She abused her own son, my grandson, who I took custody of, knowing that if he were to stay with her, he wouldn't survive another day.
The kid has PTSD from all of the abuse and how she treated him over the years and couldn't bother to have CPS take him away. His right eye is dead and he has to wear an eyepatch for the rest of his life thanks to her. She called him names and when he was bullied at school, she laughed it off and saw it as normal.
I won't say my grandson's name, out of respect for his privacy, but all I say is that WWE should've been more careful with who they plan on having in the hall of fame because she's lucky I'm not going to the ceremony and if my son was here right now, he would be ashamed of the girl he got with when he was alive."
This singlehandedly buried every single thing Tammy had going for her, but the WWE inducted her anyway, not caring about the fact she abused Michael when he was just a child, when he was five year old.
Instead of staying in school, Michael would ask his grandmother if Tommy Dreamer could train him, but Peggy Rae would refuse, saying that Michael should have a normal career instead of being a wrestler. Michael never took "no" for an answer and would keep pressuring Peggy Rae and his own grandmother into finally relenting in training with Tommy Dreamer.
Two years after the ropes and how to wrestle, including some technical prowess, Michael would make his in-ring debut at 18 years old, days after his birthday, and his birth aunt retired from managing due to many controversies.
Going to ROH after a year, Michael would win the ROH Pure Championship, his very first Championship in a major company, feeling like he made it in the sport, even though he was a rookie.
Michael would travel to Japan and would wrestle for Pro Wrestling Freedoms and Big Japan Pro Wrestling, where he would come into his own, being the BJW World Deathmatch Champion on two occasions, and being the Pro Wrestling Freedoms World Champion, getting into the world of hardcore wrestling and being that good at what he does.
However, outside the ring, Michael would be a quiet person and is friendly to a lot of people, but on the inside, he's still suffering from PTSD from all the abuse his mother had given him as a child.
Speaking about it on Talk Is Jericho, Michael would reveal,
"I still think about how I was raised by a bitch who didn't care about me. I was hurt everyday, not just physically, but emotionally as well. I get insomnia sometimes, and I get nightmares about it almost every night to where I thought ending my own life would fix things, but no. I didn't want to go that route because it wasn't worth it.
Instead, I keep wrestling at every booking I get, playing the guitar and singing at bars that allowed live music, in almost every country and city, to keep myself from going to that place. Being in Japan really helps me take my mind off of it all because I feel like I found a place in the world, and thanks to Japan being that respectful and friendly to me, I feel so blessed to be alive.
Nobody can ever understand how surviving that period of time had an impact on my life, and I will admit that there are times where I burst out crying, thinking 'Why me?', because there are times where I feel like I don't deserve to be here on this planet and yet I'm still am, living a life I don't deserve, but I'm happy with where I'm at."
Michael wouldn't just help out by sharing his story, he would give back to his community by donating his money to child abuse victims and give out food to the community when they really need it.
Although Michael would be quite shy when out in public, mainly because of the bullying and the lack of communication he's had with many people growing up, he more than made up for it by taking up a guitar and playing in a live music bar and singing as a hobby whenever he's not wrestling, as it was something he did during his middle school and high school days, a way to keep himself away from his own abusive birth mother as he would fear the possibility of getting hurt when he comes home.
Impressing fans all over Japan and coworkers, Michael would perform many classics in such as "Wanted Dead Or Alive", "Babe", "You Are So Beautiful", "Hallelujah", or many other classic rock songs from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and early 2000s, around the same period when he was born.
Talking about it in an interview, Michael would state,
"I did this when I was in school, and it always helped me find peace. Growing up, I was abused by who you would call the Original Diva in WWE.
We all know her name, but with the amount of controversies she's been involved in the last few decades, her name is more cursed than Voldemort from Harry Potter or whatever, so I won't speak it, but playing a guitar and singing, I find it very therapeutic as it helps soothe my anxiety and PTSD from my childhood.
Many of my coworkers had nothing but positive feedback from how I performed because whenever I brought my guitar to the show, before it even started, a few hours, I'd ask some of my fellow wrestlers, 'Hey, would you like some music as we prepare for the show?' And a minute later, I have an audience, and no matter what piece it was, they'd listen to my story through the songs I perform.
It's really a blessing for music and wrestling to come together as one because it can work if done right, and I think what I've done is a perfect example of that, and no, I'm not gonna sound egotistical and say that I'm a good singer and guitarist. I'm just a normal guy wanting to share my story and how I overcame a lot in the past 24 years, especially with my PTSD."
After revealing his story, Michael would be praised for his courage to speak out and in time, all of Japan would respect him even more, as everywhere he went, he would be treated with love and respect from many people.
One day, at a show for Pro Wrestling Freedoms, Queen's Quest, the faction from Stardom, would be in attendance, taking a break from performing, but one of the members of QQ, named AZM (pronounced Azumi), would be entranced by how handsome Michael is under the eyepatch, as he made his entrance, despite not knowing who he was.
The girls would start to get to know him backstage, but he wouldn't talk much, knowing Azumi would start to feel like he needed a friend after all the time he's spent alone in Japan, not wanting to talk to anyone.
Taking up the task of becoming his friend by trying to talk to him and being friendly with him, Azumi would somewhat succeed, but Michael would start to feel annoyed whenever she tried to talk with him after a show.
How would he react when he leans that Azumi, being a very sweet girl, tries to be his friend, or maybe something more?
