~Story~
Born in Kumagaya, Saitama, Japan, Koji had grown up around the violence his mother, the legendary Dump Matsumoto, had done in the 80s by watching some of her old matches before she would return to the ring in the late 90s, causing him to burst into tears whenever his mom got hurt.
However, after growing older, Koji had decided that he wanted to become a wrestler, but as a way to convince his mother to retire and when he made enough money, he would buy her a big house, so she wouldn't have to wrestle ever again.
Kaoru was delighted when she learned that her own son wanted to get into wrestling, but she simply didn't listen about the retirement part Koji laid out to her.
Being trained by his own mom, Koji had to put up with the old rules and traditions that was enforced onto him: no drinking, no smoking, no drugs, and most importantly, no dating.
The dating part would actually hurt Koji as he had to break up with his then-girlfriend at the time, as it caused a strain on their relationship.
Koji would be trained by his mother, learning the psychology and athleticism of pro wrestling, where he also learned how to be brutal inside the ring like Kaoru was in the 80s. Everything she learned as a heel would be instilled into her own son as she looked to mentor him every chance she got.
Finally making his pro wrestling debut at age 18, in 2010, Koji would also be taught the art of fighting by the wrestling King himself, and one of his heroes growing up, Minoru Suzuki. He learned to not just be a sadistic heel like his mother was, but also be an absolute beast on the microphone, where he would cut down his opponents to size, as well as learning how to be an a-hole when not wrestling.
Like, for example, in 2018, as he would not be a member of Suzuki-Gun, but as Miho Abe, the valet for Taichi, Koji's opponent at the time, would tend to Taichi after a severe beatdown, Koji would pull her by her hair and choke her a bit before slapping her, causing an uproar from the fans and Taichi himself.
In Koji's own words, recalling the incident years later,
"Miho was okay with me slapping her and Taichi went along with it too, because they knew it would cause so much heat for me to where it can elevate the story we're trying to tell, but I was really conflicted on whether or not I should slap her.
So, after some convincing from Taichi and Miho, we went ahead with the slapping and the whole situation with me being such a dick towards everyone, but I'm telling you, when I slapped the spit out of Miho's mouth, with the amount of heat I had at the time, Chris Brown got nothin' on me!"
Miho would sell the slap from Koji so well, the fans would actually start chanting, "Die Koji die" in Japanese, and in response, Koji would simply laugh and smile, in defiance of what he thought about them, but backstage, Koji would actually become very upset with how hard he slapped Miho, and always thought he deserved to be suspended, but Miho would calm him down and tell him to not worry about it, as he did his job and he did great regardless.
And, still feeling bad about what he did, even though he felt a little bit better, he sent Miho flowers later on in the week as a way of apologizing, which she gladly accepted.
Ironically, the whole segment with Miho and Koji, would lead to them falling in love later on, as the two went on dates in secret, before they would actually confess and say "I love you" when they went on their anniversary date.
During this period, Koji would win many titles regarding the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship on two different occasions, a three time DDT Extreme Champion, a two time GCW World Champion, a three time Pro Wrestling Freedoms World Champion, and a two time BJW World Deathmatch Champion.
While he had loved traditional pro wrestling in Japan, Koji embraced hardcore wrestling and always paid tribute to his mother by donning the iconic face paint she would wear and use the iconic weapon that she bring to the ring while hitting people around him, which was the kendo stick.
Koji would adapt his mother's ruthlessness and brutality to where everyone would see him as one of the most dangerous wrestlers in the world, avoiding him all the time and never getting to know him.
It would cost him some friends along the way as Miho would stay by his side and not break up with him, knowing that he was alone before they got together.
However, in February of 2020, a girl named Sari Fujimura, AKA Sarreee, and one of Koji's longtime friends, would sign with NXT and he wouldn't sign with NXT until December 2020, but when he signed with the company, unknown to the world of wrestling, Miho and Koji would split, but they would break up on good terms, where they would remain friends.
On Night Two of NXT Takeover: Stand And Deliver, Scarlett, Karrion Kross' valet, would pull Sari, who was appearing at ringside for the show, from the barricade and into the ring as Scarlett looked to do some damage to Sari, but then, the lights went down.
On the titantron, it would show the back of Koji, unknown to the fans, riding a motorcycle to the PC, and just as he gets there, the titantron shows his legs walking up to the PC, but just before the camera could show his face, a blackout had happened.
The lights come back on in the arena and ten seconds later, the lights start flickering before "Hail To The King" by Avenged Sevenfold would blare into the building, causing the fans to lose their minds and at the start of the first verse, Koji would show up, getting an even bigger pop from the fans before he enters the ring and starts going all out on Kross before Sari would fight back against Scarlett.
As they finished fighting their enemies, Sari and Koji would stare each other down but each one would start to choke up since it's been a long time since they've seen each other. After some time, the two would come closer and hug it out, much to the delight of the fans.
After the show, Sari and Koji would catch up and talk things through, as they've been through so much, but later on, Sari would start to fall for Koji, not knowing of his recent breakup with Miho, with no fault of her own.
The question is, how will Koji react to her confession?
