Ryxty is a naturally generous and kind person. She has a tendency to be cautious of other people and often goes to great lengths to reserve peace and their comfort even at the cost of her own peace and comfort. Confrontation isn't something she's used to, and she has gotten very good at evading it or absolving conflict before it happens. She's a sort of peacekeeper. Ryxty is a rather easygoing person and usually goes with the flow. Adaptability is another one of her stronger qualities. This trait allows her to fit in with nearly any civilization and get along with almost all people. In a way, parts of her personality adjust to the norms of the culture she surrounds her self with, it's common for her race to do so. However, that does not mean she changes completely. Her strongest qualities always survive the "morphing" process. One such quality is her curiosity. Curiosity is one of the core traits that gives her a strong sense of drive to keep exploring and learning. Another core trait is her unbreakable sense of optimism. She is hopelessly optimistic, and while it often lets her down as reality sets in, it has also kept her alive through many difficulties and hardships. Ryxty also remains to be surprisingly open-minded no matter the circumstances. She wants to understand others and their emotions so she tries to always keep an open mind to be understanding of others. She's always ready to try new things and see things from a different point of view. She also is very empathetic, she feels the emotions of those around her. This helps her to understand people better. She can feel other people's emotions almost as if they were her own. Though, her empathic abilities can also stress her out if she is overloaded with other people's emotions. Because of this, she has learned how to mentally distance herself from others. This mental distancing is a sort of coping mechanism.

She can handle a lot but her does have a limit and when she reaches that limit she doesn't handle it well. E'cané's favorite memory takes place on her home world when she was merely days old. She had just been assigned to be raised by Teshuan Ryxty and like all children Teshuan Ryxty spent an entire week caring for E'cané to become familiar with her so that he could choose a name for her. But on the first night of that week E'cané was having trouble falling asleep, so Teshuan Ryxty sang her a lullaby. This was highly uncommon for Yeshuian culture since their culture dies not traditionally engage in musical behaviors, but it was something Teshuan Ryxty had read about from another culture. Sure enough the lullaby lulled infant E'cané to sleep. Ever since, that night has been E'cané's favorite memory.

To begin the personal history of E'cané Ryxty it must first be noted that she comes from a planet known as Yeshuan located deep within the Delta Quadrant. E'cané's long and complicated life would begin at her birth just the same as any being. However, E'cané's story quickly diverges from many other stories because she was not given into the hand of her biological mother. After all, no child of Yeshuan is given to their birth mothers. Instead, the children are assigned to a Teshuan (a parental figure and teacher) to be raised along side four other siblings. So just as any other child E'cané was assigned to a Teshuan. Her Teshuan was a male known as Ryxty E'frádaé.Now before anyone gets confused, Teshuan Ryxty is where E'cané gets her second name from. She was given his name as a symbol of honor. After being assigned to a Teshuan she then was given her name, E'cané. This is considered an important milestone in the life of a Yeshuan because Yeshuan names are completely unique to each individual as a symbol of their identity. In summary her childhood was a happy one. She loved her siblings and deeply revered her Teshuan. She respected him and looked up to him. Though it should be noted that while she had a happy childhood it was by no means a perfect or easy one. Teshuan Ryxty had more controversial methods of raising young, at least controversial to Yeshuian standards. The other children more or less grew out of his strange ways, they clinged closer to traditional Yeshuian tradition. However, E'cané was more like her Teshuan than her society would've liked. She pushed social boundaries even he didn't push, she asked questions that no one had an answer for, she was by all means a challenge to the social structure of peace the Yeshuian's had worked so hard to secure in their society. So, they assigned her the vocation of the Zhekotu which is to go out and dedicate one's life to the study of a culture of people to then be able to understand their ways to then allow the Yeshuian Councils to create a treaty of peace with them. By giving her this vocation she would be off world and unavailable to further but societal boundaries yet still contribute to Yeshuian society. All that was left was the matter of which culture she would be assigned to study. That decision was left in the hand of Teshuan Ryxty, after all he knew E'cané well enough to know what kind of society she would best assimilate into. He did extensive research and finally found a culture and a race of people that the Yeshuians had only heard distant rumors of, the humans. When Teshuan Ryxty proposed this option to the Council there was immediate tension. However the Council realized that making contact with a people group so far away would lay foundations for a strong ally in the future and the decision was approved. So, after E'cané finished the enlightening and challenging Zhekotu training she was put on a ship, given coordinates to follow, and sent on her way to the Alpha Quadrant. She was bright eyed young and naïve only at the age of thirty when she set out for her life long mission. For nearly a decade she traveled in peace. Every so often she would rest on a planet that her people had already made contact with. She made friends, visited colleagues stationed on the planets she visited, but ultimately she would return to her journey to Earth. Her journey came to an abrupt halt when her humble and small traveling ship was attacked by a race known as the Alkox. In the Delta Quadrant the Alkox are known for their hostility and warlike nature, and their tendency to enslave their prisoners. Yeshuan lived peacefully in the Delta Quadrant, they were well known throughout the Quadrant for their wealth of knowledge about other cultures and sharing of information and technologies. The Alkox took advantage of this and preyed on the Yeshuians. They wanted to use the Yeshuians knowledge to take over their enemies. This began their persecution of the Yeshuians. The Alkox waged war on Yeshuian. With Yeshuian being pacifists the war did not go well for them but they were able to take the home planet into hiding before the Alkox locates it. With the home-world in hiding the easier targets were any Yeshuian off planet such as Ryxty. So hunting down the Yeshuian race became a sport for the Alkox. As cruel as the Alkox were they found many resources for the Yeshuian people. When the Alkox managed to get ahold of a Yeshuian they would try to get any information about other planets defense systems that they could, if that proved to be a dead end then they would harvest the blood and bones of a Yeshuian. Being of a rare metallic chemical make up the bones of a Yeshuian could be melted down to a flexible and nearly indestructible metal alloy in which the Alkox began using to equip their ships and body armor with that alloy, As for the blood of a Yeshuian, it had some medicinal properties if used correctly, but because of its metallic silver appearance and adaptive traits the Alkox began using it as a rare form of currency among themselves. Thousands of the Yeshuian people were hunted down and taken captive. E'cané was among those who were taken captive. Luckily the Yeshuians were able to create technology to cloak their planet and hide from the Alkox. Being so young Ryxty didn't have vast knowledge to offer the Alkox, but whatever she did know was tortured out of her. She was one of the few they kept alive for her blood and bone after they got all the information out of her. She was kept in a cell and every so often an Alkox soldier would extract as much blood as possible without killing her. On a few occasions her some of her bones were taken and replaced with substitutes to keep her alive, so they still gained profit from her blood but were able to make more use of her. Life continued for her in this hellish way for quite some time. Other prisoners came and went throughout her time as a slave but she remained merely as sort of resource for the Alkox. But as the decades dragged on Ryxty watched and learned their ways, their language, their customs, their routines, almost everything about them she could. With all of her complied information she planned her escape. After all those years the Alkox didn't see her as a risk. However, when the time was right Ryxty actually got away with her escape. She managed to hijack an escape pod and fly under the radar long enough to get away nearly unscathed. And thus began her long journey into the unknown. She had no idea where she was or how far away she was from home. After everything she had been through she feared trying to return home so she fled into the unknown. For years she survived on that little escape pod too afraid to reach out and get help fearing that she would be taken again. This fear of nearly everything led her to almost waste away. In fact, it got to the point where she was practically floating through space on her death bed close to starving to death. Little did she know she was floating through the Alpha Quadrant at that time, so close to the destination she originally set out for all those years ago. The U.S.S. Enterprise of all ships was the one that discovered her broken down little escape pod. When they had come across it it was perplexing to them. They had never seen such an escape pod before and were surprised to see it still working with the age and level of damage it had. It was even more shocking when they picked up a life sign, granted that life sign was weak. That life sign of course was Ryxty who was practically comatose. Her body made every last desperate attempt to adapt to the declining life support of the broken down escape pod. Ryxty was taken into the Enterprise's Sickbay and she was keenly looked after to be nurses back to health. Upon her arrival she was in a severe condition, years of slavery had worn on her on top of her years of isolation after her escape. After several weeks of intensive care as the Enterprise attempted to solve the enigma of where Ryxty came from, what happened, and why she was here she eventually woke up. It was a jolting chaotic awakening. Her most recent experience caused her to assume the worst so she went into a panic and caused quite an uproar on the ship. Eventually they managed to calm her down and convince her they didn't mean her any harm, which was difficult considering they couldn't figure out how to communicate with her aside from charades. For reasons no one could quite figure out the universal translators couldn't translate her native language. After some time Ryxty managed to learn English. The Yeshuian people have a quick way to learn languages called a Shálish in which a Yeshuian person would "kiss" a native speaker of the language they wish to learn and that action paired with a telepathic connection allows a Yeshuian to learn the desired language within seconds as if they were a native speaker as well. This was how Ryxty learned English from Dr.McCoy who was quite taken aback by the action. Ryxty of course apologized then explained herself afterwards which further surprised the doctor at her sudden new found ability to speak a language she obviously knew nothing about mere moments ago. After all this all the details and questions of Ryxty's appearance in the Alpha Quadrant was straightened out. Ryxty was shocked to hear where she was after all this time and that of all the beings she could have been discovered by it was the humans who found her, the very people she was sent to study. From that moment on Ryxty was granted Federation citizenship on the grounds of being a refugee in need of sanction. For a short time she actually went to Earth. However, despite the fact that the planet was the destination she had so longed to arrive at she suddenly found herself longing to be elsewhere. The Enterprise, Ryxty loves what it stood for, what it set out to do. She wanted to be apart of it, so she study at StarFleet and joined the ranks. For her, passing through the academy was a breeze of course dye to her special circumstance she was allowed to merely test out of nearly everything and gained credit on special recommendations. She of course proved her talents and worth as a mediator as well as a consultant of alien relations. This that became her role in Starfleet, an Advisor for cultural relations. Per her request she was assign to the U.S.S. Enterprise.

Ryxty struggles with PTSD due to her prolonged experience as a slave. This condition developed after she escaped her imprisonment from an Alkox ship and was discovered by the Enterprise. Her condition was not immediately diagnosed, but after severe symptoms developed she was evaluated and diagnosed by a psychologist specialist. Her symptoms included ongoing nightmares which led to insomnia, intrusive memories causing her to relive traumatic moments, severe emotional distress when triggered by familiar things connected to her trauma, minor hallucinations, and paranoia. Once diagnosed Rytxy was required to attend Cognitive Behavior Therapy to help alleviate her symptoms and work through the trauma she experienced.
