Personality: Maverick has a quirky personality. He's not your average college kid. He has very chilled out exterior, the calm in the face of immense danger type. He's not easily phased and many doubt he even has flinching reflexes. In other words he's not afraid of much. He definitely has his fears but he keeps those buried way below the surface. Along with buried fears most of his negative feelings in general are hidden. This makes him a hard person to read and get close to. He is simply a rather private person when it comes to deep emotions. While he may seem to be friendly he may actually despise you. In general he's got a really good poker face. To most he's friendly and gives people the benefit of the doubt, but he's no optimist. He's a journalist, optimism would get him no where in that business. He's more of a realist with a little bit of idealism. Maverick is also the loyal type, especially to those he's close with. If you truest win his loyalty he'd die for you. When pushed to his limit Maverick is prone to anger out bursts which can be frightening. Though it's rare to see such an out burst his unbridled anger is a force to be reckoned with. However it takes a lot to break him.

Casual Wear: He is very rarely seen in anything other than a suit. Only in extreme cases such as being sick or hospitalization is he seen in anything other type of clothing.

Favorite Color: Royal Blue

Powers: Other than serious sleuthing skills he's just a regular person.

Abilities: Maverick isn't an idiot he knows that he doesn't have any special abilities, no intense training, no fancy gadgets, but he can defend himself from a streets robber at least.

Weapons: Nothing other than the weapon of truth. Yeah it's cliche but he believes giving truth to the public can go a long way.

Supersuit: There would probably be a really nice tuxedo or something like it here, but I'll spare you anymore cliches. Obviously he doesn't have a super suit being a journalist.

Weakness: As stated before Maverick is just as human as any other civilian making him just as vulnerable.

Backstory: Maverick is a military brat. In other words his dad works in the military and as a result they moved quite a bit throughout his childhood. He and his brother were as thick as thieves. The two were nearly inseparable. With being moved around so much the boys never really had any other close friends, but at least they had each other. Life was relatively normal for them. No one had any special powers or tragic accidents causing them to gain superpowers. Just the average life for the Ford family. But just like any other family it wasn't picture perfect. They had their problems and one of them was that their mom had cancer. Maverick was fifteen when they found out, his brother eighteen. With his brother leaving for the army and his dad still being in the army that left Maverick alone with to take care of his mother. He couldn't help but hold some resentment towards them from running away when things got bad. They claim it was for the honor of the country, but they didn't even call or try to reach out. When she died Maverick was the only one to watch her go. From then on he distanced himself from his family. He hated them for not being there, for not even trying or even reaching out. Once he was old enough he moved to Metropolis and started going to college for journalism. It was something he and his mother bonded over when she was sick. She loved writing and had a passion for the truth. Journalism was those two things combined. In a way becoming a journalist made him feel like he was honoring her memory. After finishing a couple of years in college he got an internship at the Daily Planet under Cat Grant. For a time she was his mentor, though it didn't last long. She was a little too flighty and alittle too pushy didn't have as much to offer as he wanted. He hated working under her but stuck it out until he actually finished his degree. His internship then somehow morphed more into a job, a crappy job but it was better than nothing. He now writes what no one else will, like the obituaries, pointless columns, and the like, nothing exciting. But he at least has a job. All the other Journalists underestimate him, thinking he's nothing. They'll say just about anything in front of him. Sensitive information, dirty little secrets, who they're sources are, anything, after all he's just some college intern right? Who's he gonna tell? Well in his time he made all the right friends, one such being Lois Lane. A famed journalist, everyone knows her name which is why people have become less inclined to tell her things. After all she's one to hunt down a story no matter what. After doing a few favors for her Maverick grew on Lois. She, unlike many others, actually held an adult conversation with him and discovered his edge, that people were dumb enough to underestimate him, From then on out they formed a secret partnership. He goes and digs up the dirt and feeds it back to her. In return she promised to keep an eye out for him as far as the whole getting a real job thing goes. Along with this, word got to Clark about Maverick's talent to get information. Being an unknown civilian Maverick is able to go just about anywhere unnoticed. Lex Luther's mansion? He's there as a small time reporters, who cares right? No need to actually check out his credentials. So Maverick has become a very lucrative informant to the Justice League. He often goes after leads that Lois can't. He's helped out the League on several occasions just by getting simple information by being inconspicuous.

Extra: Maverick likes what he does. Feeding information to the League is pretty great, that and he gets a decent stipend for it too. However, he does have aspirations to become a journalist some day, like the great Lois Lane. Of course that would mean giving up his gig as an informant. Can't be an secret informant if your name is slapped at the end of every headliner in the city.

P.S.
Since his mother's death Maverick has been on his own, and since then he hasn't seen or talked to his brother or father. He went straight off to college after the funeral. For the first two years he lived in the dorms but since then he has gotten an apartment. It isn't much but it's his.
