Aileen is not a girl to throw about. Growing up in a rambunctious family of 3 siblings to care for, Aileen is as blunt as they come, and won't dally on pointing out a mistake or bluff in an attempt to better others. She values truth above all other virtues, which is why most of her blunt retorts sting so. She studied hard to get where she is currently, using her Father's passing as a cornerstone for her study of witchcraft. That being said, she's very book smart and is known around her family to be quite witty and sarcastic. Her intellect and family support pushed her to be the greatest she could be, and she won't be satisfied until everything is perfect for her siblings. She never is, so she goes on studying late into the night and early into the day cramming knowledge into her thick skull as is her militant nature. She's often quite tired because of it, and will probably nod off if a situation disinterests her. She stresses over so many tiny details, but won't show on the outside if she can help it. She wants to be a strong figure for her younger siblings, who look up to her as a mother where their own cannot be anymore. Wrongdoing against her kin earns you a permanent place on her hit-list, a place few enter, but fewer leave. Her spitfire course of anger is only triggered when someone dear to her is harmed, and she doesn't care who you may be if she catches sight of it the gloves are off. Her Father was a formidable fighter both on the battlefield and off, and taught his eldest self-defense in the impossible case that he wouldn't be there. When he passed, it crushed Aileen, but she persevered and bottled her sadness, smiling against the pain so her siblings wouldn't worry and her family could stay afloat due to her Mother's heartsickness. Anything that ever really shook her she shrugged off with a laugh or a sarcastic remark, she never really let much of anyone in except her family. She's quite self-conscious by nature, and will mentally reprimand herself if she realizes how much one of her statements could cut, or how her actions speak leagues of her. She's as soft as a bunny around her siblings and selective people, if not a bit overbearing on her show of love and affection. She's quite overprotective of those she loves, which she isn't ashamed to admit in the slightest. If she had had the choice, she would have taken the sickness from her Father before it took him, but of course, she didn't tell that to her family. Stubborn as a mule as well, Aileen won't back away from her opinions or beliefs. She believes everyone should respect each other's right to free speech, and should exercise it as much as they please. Another reason why she is so blunt. She's not too well taught on manners either, so forgive her if she butts into something she shouldn't. She should know better, but she did always manage to nod off during her etiquette lessons. Combat lessons with her Father definitely held more appeal. She tends to love quite deeply when and if she does do so, and would go to great lengths to protect whoever managed to capture her fickle heart.

Aileen has a fondness for every type of book ever written, and will usually have her face glued to one if given the time and chance. Be it a historical biography or a whimsical fantasy novel, Aileen has a driving need for knowledge, and won't stop until she's satisfied with her learnings. She never is though, so back to the books she goes. She's drawn to anything warm since she's naturally always in a state of chill. She'll bundle up with nearly anything to stay warm, and she rarely feels overly heated unless she's feverish. That being said, she loves thick knit sweaters, large enough that they nearly go to her knees and keep most of her being warm. Summer is her favorite season, obviously, especially the feeling outside just before a summer storm hits. Or just standing out in a warm sun shower..yeah, she enjoys that quite a bit. Spicy foods and warm drinks are something she dines on almost every day, and curling up by a fireplace with a cup of tea in her freezing hands is something she longs to do almost all the time. Crystals are also something that Aileen is rather passionate about. Through her studies of witchcraft, Aileen found crystals to be supremely powerful in the way of cleansing and protection, so she's always sure to have fluorite and black obsidian crystals dangling from chains around her neck at all times.

Aileen isn't one for any sort of play or production made after a book. She finds that..the book just does more justice being that it's the original. She's likely to fall asleep during such shows, whether she's kinda interested or not. Something about the drone of voices just makes her..nod off. Being as cold as she is naturally, icy temperatures do her no good. She's likely to get raging colds during winter months, which has made her hate the season quite passionately. Sure, the scenery may be nice and all, looking fresh and white. Aileen will just enjoy the view from her bedroom, next to her fireplace, bundled up with 3 thick blankets and a steaming mug of tea. Aileen isn't too big of a fan of revealing clothing, and she is almost wearing some sort of jacket even in summer to keep warm. Cold delicacies hold no appeal to Aileen, she enjoys piping hot foods instead. She never really enjoyed overly sweet desserts either, they make her teeth hurt. She's not too fond of birds either, something about their beady little eyes just..ugh. Sends a shiver down her spine, even if the creatures significantly increased the power of witchcraft on occasion. People who take great offense to her bluntness are those she deems too weak to really take on a full of her personality, so she tends to leave those easily offended before she can tarnish their image of her more than it probably is. She intends to help others when she points out a flaw and is sorta confused when they get offended.

Aileen was born to the happily married couple Aidan and Iona Einin. Aidan was a guard in the Royal Army with formidable shapeshifting abilities, while Iona was a humble herbalist making a living off of small deeds of witchcraft and the like. They both met when Iona decided to sneak from her afternoon lessons with her own Mother, and Aidan was on his way to finish his duties for the day. The two had managed to bump into each other, causing a jumble of curses from both parties that had shortly left them in stitches of laughter afterward. A friendship blossomed from this chance encounter, which eventually morphed into the slow stoked flames of love. Flash forward a few years of dating, and Iona was happily wed to Aidan, Aileen being born soon after.
Aileen always loved hearing how her parents fell in love, no matter how cliche some may say their romance had been. She was a starry-eyed youth, a persistent dreamer who wished for a life of adventure where she could spread her wings and fly. Every book she managed to get her grubby little fingers on was quickly devoured by her eager mind, and the will to thrive and grow was strong within her. Soon there were three more little bundles added to the bustling crew, and Aileen was in charge of caring for them whilst studying so her parents could pay attention to the needs of their employment. Aileen much preferred to be in charge though, so there were no hard feelings there.
Her father took ill during a small skirmish near the border, a rumored plague sweeping through that stretch of land. Aidan's immune system had never been tip-top to start with, so his health declined rather quickly, which the attacking force had used to their advantage. With her meager knowledge of herbs and plants and her Mother at her side, 16-year-old Aileen managed to keep her father's pain at bay and keep going for about a year. He passed in his sleep, a peaceful death no one had expected. The herbs had seemed to brighten him, heal him in a way. And Aileen had been silly enough to hope for the best. Those just weren't enough to fully heal his illness.
Aileen, of course, blamed herself. Had she known that her father had been so ill, she'd have argued him into resting like she was so oft to do. Aidan just always played it off, flashing his eldest daughter a weak grin to ease her troubled soul. It had worked well, but now he was gone and Aileen didn't know what to do.
Iona, of course, was heartbroken. She was never the same after Aidan passed, growing so heartsick that she herself became bedridden with grief. With Iona not tending to her shop any longer, Aileen took the reigns of her grieving family and steered them from ruin while Iona acted as a figurehead of sorts. This has continued on through the years, though Aileen doesn't begrudge her Mother at all. She too was heartsick, but her rampant grip on her emotions turned her to a rather cold and almost impertinent woman, which sadly led people to hold disdain for the shopkeep and her wares.
