Backstory: Lorelei and Loki fooled around a bit during the time when Lorelei put Thor -and later Loki put Lorelei- under a love potion. Unexpectedly a few months later Lorelei had been locked away, only to discover her symptoms of pregnancy growing worst. She managed to escape to Midgard hiding out for a few more months with Shield -in its a bit earlier stages- ending up on her trail. Shield took the baby girl after delivery, taking her far away from where Lorelei would be able to find her. Shield dropped the baby off at a orphanage with a young boy who was told to protect her. She grew up believe this boy to be her brother, while Lorelei was sent back to Asgard and locked away again. As the baby and the boy grew up they jumped around from foster home to foster home never settling down for long. When Alice was around eight years old her "brother" -Matt- discovered his mutant abilities of teleportation. He was out of control putting himself and everyone else in danger. Shield sent in Natasha -around the time she had just started Shield- to fix the problem. The boy was killed from his actions unable to be saved. Shield covered it up leaving Alice on her own with everything she had witnessed. This was the time before mutants were known to the world so no one believed her when she told them what happened. Her seventh and last foster home had her institutionalized not long after it happened. She was released when she was 17 after the attack on New York - from them on her story didn't seem so crazy. After that she's held a grudge against Natasha for breaking a promise she never kept - to save her brother, and to protect her.
