Born to Jason and Savannah Kickingbird, Clara is the second and youngest child and first daughter to the couple. She is the self-proclaimed "favorite grandchild" and is often the more friendly sibling. Though they butt heads frequently, Clara and her big brother Zach are very close and care about each other much more than either of them would like to admit. Nothing too big happened besides meeting friends and the few scrapes and tumbles.

Once Clara turned 13, everything started to change. Her grandfather was diagnosed with cancer, and he passed in his sleep. She cried for months. When she was 14, she got her first boyfriend, Micah, and they were pretty happy.

In their sophomore year, Clara is placed in geometry with Jacob, along with his two best pals, Quil Ateara V and Embry Call.

Through the first semester, Clara becomes closer friends with the three boys, her and Embry kicking it off astronomically well. He was funny, sweet, and could handle a joke or two. However, with these newfound friendships also came unwanted feelings. This wasn't a big problem except for the fact that Clara was already in a relationship, so over christmas break, she broke up with her boyfriend, Micah Gibson, hoping to save, if not both of them, at least him from too much heartache.

With this new freedom, Clara lets herself get closer to Embry, only to have him suddenly disappear and push his friends away. After weeks of this, Quil and Jacob spot him with none other than Sam uley and her own brother, Zach. Infuriated, Clara goes to them and demands what's going on with her friend, angering Zach in the process whilst Embry imprints on her. Luckily, Sam and Jared Cameron manage to get Zach away while embry take over, taking Clara somewhere else to help explain everything.

After learning the truth, Clara admittedly becomes jealous of her older brother, wishing it was her who got to phase instead.

By the time Jacob phases for the first time, Clara and embry have almost become a full couple: going on dates, hanging out, showing small acts of affection. Unhappy with this, Micah tries to pick a fight with Embry one day at lunch, shattering his hand after the first punch.

Clara's still a teen, though now she has her license and drives around freely. Though, for her and Embry, after weeks of drama following them, things have settled down for the new couple... except for Clara's new obsession with Leah Clearwater's phasing. Convinced it's now possible that she could phase, too, Clara tries to convince not only Embry, but Zach and Sam that it made sense she hadn't done it yet. Leah was older than Seth, so naturally she would phase before him, so Clara thought it right that she still had a chance to phase. While they're focused on the phase talk, Micah goes missing in Seattle. (option 1) Too upset by her ex's sudden disappearance, this leads to Clara phasing one afternoon outside of Emily's house while arguing with zach. (option 2) With the Cullen's now worried about Bella's safety, Clara's hopes to convince the pack she can phase too gets shut down, and she's on lockdown at home thanks to two worried shapeshifters.

Once they get married, being fairly well liked by Bella, Clara is invited to Bella and Edward's wedding, going as Seth's date (or just going with that group). Once events start happening, Clara is a bit torn once Jacob leaves Sam's pack. Her loyalties lie with her boyfriend and brother, but once Jacob leaves, Embry wants to join him and Seth and Leah while Zach stays loyal to Sam, causing high tensions between the pack. Once things clear, Clara—with supervision from Jacob, thanks to Embry's concern—happily meets Renesmee, adoring the child the second she sees her. Once the Volturi gets involved, Embry tries to keep her away from the vampires, keeping her busy with Emily, school, or any lame task he can think of.
