dahlia was born with thick, curly hair that she never learned how to properly take care of. with nahakra being typically humid and warm, the curls were hidden under a thick layer of frizz or would be braided or straightened down. she had a slightly bigger nose that she had to grow into with full, almost pouty lips, her bottom being fuller than her top. her eyes are brown and almond shaped, accompanied by long, dark eyelashes. from her days in the sun, her skin was a nice caramel tan with light freckles covering her cheeks and shoulders from sun damage. she's on the taller side, standing at 5'7.

PERSONALITY:: dahlia isn't the most approachable person at first glance. she can be cold and just brush you off if you try and talk to her when you first meet, and she has a pretty rude attitude, but she warms up eventually, if you can handle to stay long enough. once you get through that stage, though, she opens up and you'll find out she's a loudmouth, no matter how hard she tries to hold back. a lot of people learned to not tell her anything unless they were okay with it being shared to the whole town, but dahlia understands. once you get past her first stage, you learn she's not so rude, though the attitude stays, no matter how close you are to her, and she likes to argue over every little thing sometimes. she's considerate of others, but she rarely shows that side of her, not liking to feel vulnerable or show that she can be. she's a clever girl, though when it comes to being put under pressure, she gets anxious and can't think straight so don't rely on her if you're being ambushed. she likes to think she's funny, but everybody thinks they're funny—and she's also stubborn. she has a sharp tongue, and she's very snarky. dahlia hates not having the last word.
when she's upset, she either goes silent or explodes and says anything that comes to mind, often regretting what she says in moments of anger. one of her biggest flaws, that's for sure.

BACKSTORY::

dahlia grew up in nahakra village, so you can imagine what that was like for her. being a child and surrounded by crime wasn't exactly an ideal place, but her parents had grown up there, so they didn't see why it was so bad. she grew up poor, and when her little brother came along, that just got worse, so she decided to try and help out, turning into a thief in training. the stealing started out with small attempts, but gradually grew into bolder attempts throughout her life there—her sticky fingers grabbing coins and jewelry off of travelers and merchants that went through. it helped her family eat and survive, so she saw no harm in it. whether it be food or clothes, sometimes even jewelry just for the hell of it, dahlia stole. when she was fifteen, dahlia decided it was time for her to move on, starting to become a menace that her parents couldn't handle, nor afford, even with the thievery. however, still being so young, dahlia didn't know how to handle life without her family, so she stayed in nahakra, yet joined the thieves' guild. it was what she knew how to do, so she figured she'd stick with it. when she was sixteen, she left the guild and nahakra behind after an "incident", passing through o'khasis often, eventually venturing over to scaleswind, to bright port, then finally, phoenix drop.

dahlia grew up as the eldest daughter to her two parents, and an older sister to her younger brother, aidan. they lived a decent life, with dahlia never struggling to eat or her parents scrounging for money to pay bills and keep them fed. it wasn't the richest of life styles, but she grew up knowing her and her brother were loved, and grateful for the roof over her head. when she turned fifteen, however, her mother got a new job in phoenix drop, moving them out of nahakra and into a whole new city and school. dahlia met many friends there, and even ending up moving in with some of them after college.
nicole and lucinda were her roommates once moving to mystreet and the rest was history.
