Cardinalstep (Warrior Cats)✅

Name: Cardinalstep

Gender: Male

Eye Color: Green

Description: a long furred mostly white tom with blood red ears and tail along with bright green eyes

(Like the image only it's ONLY on the ears and tail and it's a much deeper shade of red and with green eyes)

Littermates: Sunfoot [tom], Moonflight [she-cat]

Disabilities: Born fully deaf

More Info: Because he was born deaf he can't talk to communicate but uses a form of sign language, like for example he'll pay his stomach when he's hungry or to show when he feels sick, and sadly he can't be a warrior or even a medicine cat because of this condition because he can't communicate

Before you say that he can be a medicine cat because there are other disabled medicine cats he can't for two major reasons and I'll list them in a list to make it easier

1. He can't learn shit, he has no mental disabilities  but seriously he can't understand speech and sign language in the cat world is nothing like how humans do it because cats don't have hands and aren't that advanced so literally only the very core basics can be communicated like the best they could do is show a herb and then point to a stomach to show what a herb does, everything would have to be taught to a deaf apprentice in only basic gestures which would be near impossible!

2. He would have to rely on the other cat to know how to gesture what's wrong with them, an unconscious cat can't gesture what's wrong with them

Also a bonus thing for a good comparison is Jayfeather and when he was an apprentice

While he's blind the key here is he can communicate freely while a deaf cat can't, like yea the deaf cat has a sense of smell but without communication learning is way harder, even though Jayfeather is blind and can use his sense of smell to make up the lack of sight, he can be communicated with, however for a deaf apprentice there's no replacement for 100% effective communication, practically all the deaf cat can do is very basic communication

Also I know this is a whole different thing but if a cat was mute [aka not speaking but still hearing] they could learn just fine, now I'm not anti disability acceptance but I'm trying to think realistically and these are cats, they don't have an official sign language like humans do, and I'm 100% sure that deaf people can do just about anything they put their minds to, but if anyone has any ideas on how to have a mentor realistically teach a deaf cat how to learn what herbs are for or maybe even fighting/hunting [hunting being extra unlikely because any small sound scares prey away and a deaf cat can't hear how loud they are] then let me know and I'll consider them :D

Also my phone loves to autocorrect deaf to dead/the keys are also right next to each other so if you see any errors feel free to let me know :D

Also here's a video that I got my information on deaf warrior cats from!

(Ik it's a how to roleplay video for a warrior cats game on Roblox but that's not the point lol)
