Personality: A very quiet and shy person on the outside, but on the inside she's brave and friendly to those she already knows. She has trouble making friends because of it. To her family and Leora she's so loyal and open to them. She has a talent in making jokes and quips and is very comedic. She usually follows the rules, but sometimes she loves to bend them a little for fun

Backstory: Maria never knew her mother, but she knew her father all too well. Most days, her father would leave her in the house alone to look after herself, and come back late at night very drunk. He would often hit and shout at her, and force her into the wardrobe, leaving her there all night. Luckily, her father was arrested for abuse and child neglect, putting her into the foster care system. She was eventually moved to a family in England and started anew. She spent a lot of her time learning English. She was fostered and then adopted by the Luther family on her tenth birthday. As her father was pureblood, she received her Hogwarts letter a few months later and began learning there. She met Leora on her first day, becoming best friends soon after. She also helps Maria with her English. Maria doesn't know her own blood status, but her adoptive family are all half-bloods, so she thinks of herself as one as well. She hopes to one day find out who her mother is and what her blood status actually is, but she feels that it might not be possible. It could've been any of the girls her father met while drunk, but Maria will work hard to find herself.
