Ava was born in the wrong body... Yes... Ava is transgender. But she didn't realize it until she was 11 years old.

In her childhood, she was "daddy and mommy's boy" and did everything to make them proud. She was also very close to her big brother, Aidan, she admired him, and saw him as her hero and her example. He was just like her second father.

Ava decided to come out to her parents, but they saw Ava as a mistake from then on. They thought she was simply brainwashed by some internet bullshit, and made her their scapegoat. Ava, heartbroken, took refuge in Aidan's arms, who accepted her. So he decided he would do anything to see her smile and he wouldn't let anyone hurt her. He helped Ava to look more like a girl, despite their parents' protests.

Ava felt better thanks to Aidan. But she was a victim of transphobia at school and on the streets. She was being bullied, called by her deadname and being misgendered, without Aidan knowing about it. Otherwise, he would probably have kicked the students' ass...

Ava was fed up. She had started to hate her body or her appearance. She was sick of all this transphobia and bullying. So she decided to kill herself without even writing a letter or leaving traces of her life behind her...
She was already in the void, when she felt a hand clinging to her arm: Aidan. He wanted to hoist her onto the roof, but he slipped and fell too. He caught himself on a window sill, Ava above him. Here are the two siblings clinging to life.
Ava wouldn't let go of Aidan, who kept pushing her until she was on the roof. She was holding with all her might and will, but her older brother's hand kept slipping... until he sacrificed himself.

Ava had a long depression following this. She hated herself for what had happened to Aidan. She will never forgive herself for being so selfish, she says. She thought she was cursed, that she made suffer, live the worst or be hated by anyone she loved. So she swore never to love again so she could protect others. And she swore to never cry again as well.

What she doesn't know is that Aidan is still alive.

Ava was then emancipated. She was put in touch with a German pen pal for school: a childish girl named Leyina Meyer. Leyina immediately wanted to become her friend. And despite all the resistance, reluctance… she succeeded, even if Ava didn't show her feelings. Leyina then traveled to France, where Ava was living, and settled down with her.

Ava does not show that despite everything, she cares "a little" for Leyina and protects her. Even if she is still cold... Maybe it's more than friendship she feels but... she denies it.
