Backstory - After the bombs dropped , 32 year old Richard Valentine and his 30 year old wife Valerie hid in a vault with others in Harrisburg , PA. They had 4 sons , each son had 7 children. In 2269 , 16 year old Benjamin Valentine and his wife Dora left the vault where they had been living and traveled to the commonwealth having heard great things from travelers . A few years later ,they had Diego . But sadly died when Diego was 7 years old . Diego traveled the wasteland alone until he ended up in the green jewel of the commonwealth and met Nick . Of course , Nick had a hard time believing that Diego was his great great nephew . But a simple search of memeories and photos showed the relation .
