"You're my princess."

     "Dammit!"

"Elysia? Are you okay?"

The blonde demon was sprawled across the forest floor, pines needles and leaves nestled in her hair and on her clothes. She was clutching her right ankle and hissing in pain.

"No," she angrily forced out. "I hurt my ankle. Damn holes."

Tamarind jogged back, and kneeled beside her friend. "Looks bad," she said, eyes gazing cynically over the injured limb. "You're not going to want to put pressure on it."

"How else can I get out of here?" Elysia demanded. Tamarind, used to her friend's behavior, sighed internally. When Elysia got hurt, which was fairly often, she developed an awful mood, being incredibly hostile and unwelcoming.

"I could carry you," Tamarind offered, knowing full well that Elysia would decline. The icy glare she got in return confirmed it. "Well do you have any other ideas? We have to get out before it's dark."

"No," Elysia sighed, futilely glancing up at the dark trees looming over them. "Fine," she bit out, jumping as something howled from the forest. "Let's just go."

So Tamarind scooped up her friend and started the walk back, Elysia clutching her shoulders with a desperate need.

"Don't you dare drop me," she hissed. Tamarind chuckled, hoisting her higher.

"Believe me, I wouldn't dare."
