Made Me Think Of You

"Elysiaaaaaa," Tamarind called as she walked into the tiny kitchen from the door. Her wife wasn't there as usual, something that slightly worried the usually fearless demoness. "Elysia?"

"Tam?" Elysia asked, appearing in the doorway across from her. She was rubbing at her eyes and her posture was slumped. She kinda looked like she had just woken up. Shit, I didn't wake her, did I? "Oh. Hey."

"I didn't wake you, did I?" Tamarind asked worriedly. She set down her grocery bags and swept her wife into a hug. Elysia melted into her embrace and squeezed.

"I missed you," she whispered. With a sudden jolt, Tamarind realized that Elysia's forehead was burning.

"Are you sick?" Tamarind asked, setting the back of her hand on her wife's forehead. Elysia, eyes not fully open, swayed a bit. "Yeah, you're sick. Let's get you somewhere to lay down."

"I'm fine," Elysia murmured, yet she put up no resistance as Tamarind ushered her into the living room.

"You just want to stay here and watch TV?"

"Sure," Elysia said. They got her comfortable on the couch before Tamarind hurried to put the groceries away.

As she was going through the grocery bags, she pulled out a tiny plush pink bear that she had bought on a whim while at the store. This would probably help her. And with that, Tamarind set it aside for after all the food was properly shut away. Once it was all down, Tamarind wandered back to the living room, pausing to look at her beautiful wife. Even sick and tired as she was now, Tamarind couldn't imagine a more perfect person.

"Hey beautiful," she called softly, bear in hand. "I got something for you."

She slid onto the cushions on the opposite side of the couch and passed the plush animal over. Elysia just looked at it for a second, then looked over at Tamarind with a content look.

"Thank you so much. When did you get this?"

"Just now. Apparently I can sense when my beautiful and smart wife is sick." Tamarind, as dramatic as she is, couldn't resist from wiggling her fingers in a spooky way (she hoped). Elysia rolled her eyes but smiled.

"If only you had gotten some soup."

Tamarind paused. "...true but the bear is cuter."

"I won't argue with that," Elysia laughed. And with nothing else to say that hadn't already been said a million times before, they linked hands and went to watch TV, the blue light casting an unnatural glow around them.

I love you.
