Baby Got A Ball Gown On

"Elysia? Elysia if you don't hurry up, we're going to be late to Syca's-oh."

"Oh hey, Tam," Elysia said shyly from the doorway. "You think this is good enough?"

"I-uh, yes," Tamarind stuttered out, eyes wide. There was very little that startled Tamarind at this point of life; she had just seen so much.

But she had never seen Elysia in a ball gown before.

The dress went down to her ankles, the fabric ruffling around the hem. The fabric itself was an ocean blue, with a layer of midnight blue tulle over the skirt protruding from the dark blue sash around her waist. On her short sleeves and and the tulle layer were golden sparkles, catching the light as she moved. All of a sudden, Tamarind felt near worthless in comparison.

"Earth to Tamarind?" Elysia waves a hand in front of Tamarind's face, breaking the other's concentration. "Hello?"

"You're beautiful," Tamarind breathed out, stashing the car keys in one of her purse's pockets and sweeping Elysia into a chaste kiss. "How'd I get so lucky?"

"I could say the same," Elysia shot back, stepping back and looking Tamarind up and down. She had chosen not to do anything too formal, going with a simple thigh length dress with silver sparkles all over. Kinda pathetic compared to Elysia's, put Tamarind wasn't one for doing things over-the-top formal anyways.

"I don't know about that," Tamarind said, wincing slightly. Elysia, ever watchful, cupped her cheek.

"It's okay, because I do," she said brightly. The two shared one last quick kiss before heading off to their friend's party, hands clasped.
