Personality: At first glance, Kaede seems like the cold type who doesn't want to interact with others. The person who you don't want to mess with at all. When he is around new people, he doesn't really talk a whole lot and rarely shows any emotion but once he gets to know people, that changes. His circus family fully knew his true self, his outgoing and mischievous side, the type who likes to cause trouble whenever he can. He was able to show his true emotions with them. Because of his appearance, he can sometimes frighten people when they see him. He is used to this and doesn't let it bother him at all. But he does want to be treated like normal. He is very skilled and intelligent for his age, not one to fall behind in his schoolwork, even when this is his first time at an actual school. He likes to usually speak his mind which can make him seem blunt and a bit harsh at times but he doesn't care. Even with his rough looking exterior, he is a great guy to hang around. He doesn't take crap from anyone either.

Backstory: Kaede was born a couple of days after the supposed Blue Night. His mother who was human had died while giving birth to him while his father who was a demon was nowhere to be found. It was believed that his father might have ran into not so friendly exorcists who killed him off. He was then found by a traveling circus who took him in since they saw potential in him. They were able to tell right off the bat that he was half demon because of his red flames that he was surrounded in. The circus itself was mostly people who got tempted by demons or people who were half demons themselves. They were able to seal up his powers so he was treated like a normal kid but showed him what demons were. During his time with the circus, he had trained to be a skilled knife thrower. His talent and abilities were excellent and very accurate when throwing the knife at the target, never missing. On their travels, they had stopped in Tokyo to perform. Amongst the crowd of people was Mephisto Pheles, very intrigued to see the show. He heard of how this circus were mostly half demons or people who have been tempted by demons. When it was Kaede's turn to perform, Mephisto was able to tell that the boy was half demon. He knew that it wasn't his father's son either or one of the demon kings' sons. That didn't matter to him since he saw that he would make an exceptional exorcist and contribute to his plan that he had. After the show had ended, Mephisto went up to the young half demon, offering him a full scholarship to True Cross Academy and to enroll in the exorcist school. Kaede was a bit skeptical at first because of how he was friends with demons and half demons alike. He was about to turn it down before his circus family told him this might be for the best. They knew Mephisto personally and had already told him about Kaede's situation. Kaede was also told of what he was when he was growing up, that his powers had been sealed up so he could be normal. He knew that his circus family was trying to protect him which he didn't mind. He thought it was cool to be half demon even when some of these supposed exorcists didnt like half breeds of demons. But maybe he could change their minds by going with this man. He finally agreed to the offer, shaking his hand. He said goodbye to his circus life and went off with the purple haired clown of a guy. His powers were then unleashed which made his ears go pointed, his teeth a bit sharp and a tail too. They were then transferred into a special gun that only he could use. Since he was half demon, he had to stay in the abandoned dorms with two other guys, the Okumura twins. He was told of the one twin's secret since they were both in the same situation. They were both told of Kaede's secret themselves and that Yukio would have to watch the both of them. Make sure they don't show their true forms.
