Backstory: Sophie was the first born child to Owen and Lucy Abernathy. She grew up with two younger siblings, Brennan and Claire. The three surprisingly all got along really well, becoming each other's support system. Being the eldest, she's quite overprotective of her siblings. While she may not have had the same issues her siblings did, Sophie dealt with her own demons. She's always been exceptionally hard on herself and tends to be her own worst enemy. It didn't help that when she was sixteen, she started dating this guy who clearly didn't care about her as much as he said he did. This was evident when he would verbally abuse Soph and, eventually, when she discovered she wasn't his only lover. That he had been seeing someone else for months. Of course she was devastated but she somehow felt it was her fault he'd taken another lover. It took a lot of self confidence and self respect to break things off and dodge the bullet. Still, from then on, she's been working on trying to be her own best advocate instead of her own worst enemy. But, due to how hurt she'd been for the two years she was dating the guy, she's been too cautious to enter into any other sort of relationships.

Personality: Sophie is a bit of a whirlwind. She's got a lot of flaws but she recognizes them, being self-aware and trying to fix them. One thing she's really taken to heart is self-love and self-confidence. She does her best to be independent while simultaneously confiding in those she trusts the most—mainly her family and the few friends she has. She's intelligent and a bit of a dork, a complete brainiac. She'd much rather have her nose buried in a book than out partying. She's diligent in her work and pretty determined. Soph isn't the type to let anything stand in her way. She's extremely sweet though, caring for those she holds close. She's kind upon first meetings, but she's not overtly social. It takes a lot for her to trust people fully, but once she does, she's loyal to the end. She tends to be cautious too, always trying to stay on the moral high ground—but this might stem from wanting to be a good example for her siblings. In other words, she doesn't really rush headfirst into things and would rather consider and analyze before doing anything. However, she did inherit her father's stubbornness and her mother's contagious light-hearted energy. There's a lot more to Sophie than meets the eye, as the girl has an abundance of levels to her.
