Personality: Darcy is, first and foremost, quite creative. She has taken years of listening to music, reading books, and dreaming and actually gotten something out of it. Her mind is always coming up with odd ideas and plots that she often just doesn't do anything with. This aids her when someone asks her to draft a dress or outfit, since she does have quite a wide imagination.
Darcy is know for being quite easily entertained and playful as well. She loves to laugh and make others laugh, which makes her quite a fun person to be around. Unfortunately, this trait rarely gets used in large groups of people she doesn't know. She's quite socially awkward actually- she is scared of looking like an idiot in front of crowds so she's typically very quiet when meeting someone new.
Darcy does have some unsavory traits, of course. She isn't very good at holding her temper and is quite bossy when things don't go her way. It's something that has plagued her since her youth and something that she tries her best to stash away and not let ruin things. She isn't very good at hiding her emotions and often lets them get the best of her.
Likes: Books, reading, snacking on random foods, music, working hard at her job
Dislikes: Having to approach people herself (unless properly persuaded), being underestimated, getting overwhelmed by work, being ignored by her friends, feeling inept
Strengths: Darcy has an incredible bank of stamina and speed stored away from various activities she used to do in her past. She's very creative, can somehow present and perform in front of large groups (she says it's because it's less personal and she's used to it, but nobody really knows exactly why she's so okay with it), she's a very fast reader, and is actually quite good at creating a scene from just a few small ideas.
Weaknesses: Darcy, unfortunately, has a bad temper, is extremely bossy in some situations, and is quite envious. Though she tries hard to keep it locked away so she doesn't seem like the worst person ever, she often cannot help but get upset when things just don't go the way she wants them to.
Fears: Rejection. It's a big part of what fuels her dislike of social situations and why she's afraid to speak up a lot. Darcy also fears needles, bugs that can sting you, spiders, her friends leaving her, something scary being behind her and getting her from out of the dark. There's more but those are the big ones.
Hobbies/Skills: Darcy is a gigantic reader. She consumes books like she needs them to survive, which is only partially true. She also plays the viola, a career path she considered but decided not to pursue. Her love for music pushed her toward playing and had only grown since she started. Otherwise, Darcy is skilled at coming up with dress ideas, sewing, and cleaning, just because of her job.
Family: Darcy, of course, has a mother and father. Their names are Leanne Issabelle Winfrey and Brett Joshua Fandel. Alongside them, Darcy grew up with her maternal grandfather living in the same house as her and her three siblings. Her grandfather's name is Kenton Isaiah Winfrey and her siblings' names are Victor Joshua Fandel, Diana Kierra Fandel, and Leanne Elissa Fandel.
Thoughts on the Royals of Evangaline: She had never minded them at all, really. She isn't completely obsessed with them or truly intrigued by their lives, and just likes to look upon their lives from an internal view. She finds it devastating that the king and Queen were assassinated and hate to imagine what the children must be going through.
Favorite Royal: Well, she would have said the queen originally, but at the moment it would probably be the youngest or oldest prince.
Friends/Enemies/Lovers/Relationships: Darcy hasn't made any close friends at the castle, but she is on good terms with most of them. She has two good friends from school who she speaks to through letters quite regularly. She's very close to her family, especially Diana. Darcy has never had a true lover, but she's definitely had her fair share of crushes and almost encounters.
Backstory: Darcy was born in Caroline but her parents decided to move to Evangaline when she was two. Her maternal grandmother was experiencing a terminal illness and since they still lived in Evangaline, her parents moved the whole family back. Her grandmother passed away when she was three, so she basically never knew her. After her grandmother died, the family moved back to Caroline for a few years. She lived a pretty good life but moved back to Evangaline when she was ten so her parents could take care of her grandfather. A few years after that move, got a new baby sister! Darcy had never really known what she wanted to do in life, her father was an apothecary and her mother was a sailor but she had never been drawn to that. She ended up drifting through hobbies and jobs for a while until she ended up in the castle as a maid, a job she grew to love a lot.
Thoughts on the Selection: She thinks it's very fun, and almost wishes she was in it. She is kind of scared of all the new people that will be coming in- especially since they're foreign royals.
Hopes for Who They're Assigned to: Darcy has always held Caroline, the place she was partially raised, in her heart. She hopes for Caroline, but she also thinks someone from a land she knows very little about might be fun to be assigned to!
Guilty Pleasure: Darcy loves to look good. She wants to look fancy, well off, and like a goddess.
Secret: Ever since Darcy was a child, her parents have tried to hide the fact that they could never afford much for their children. Between her mother's parents both getting very ill and them moving quite a lot, they were rarely able to get nicer things. Darcy has taken to "borrowing" items from the castle that are either damaged but still usable, old and forgotten, or just won't be missed. She figures that any item she takes isn't going to affect the royal's lives anytime soon but would greatly impact her family's lives.
