He's mainly focused on himself and his own problems. He doesn't have much regard for others, that doesn't mean he isn't kind to them, but he just cares more for himself. He knows he needs to look out for himself and that's exactly what he does.
Art doesn't see the problem in this. He thinks putting his own goals above others is just smart, and self preserving in a way.
He cares for others but he has learnt that in this world, he needs to put his own needs before anyone else's. Living with regrets is not something he wants.

• STUBBORN
Fool him once, shame on you. That's it. No fooling him twice. He can be incredibly unforgiving. He's stubborn and if someone manages to betray his trust, he won't make the mistake of trusting them again.
He doesn't like being made a fool of.
Being stubborn is a trait he inherited from his mother. He can be hesitant to trust so if someone breaks that he can be unreasonably unforgiving.
Changing his mind on something takes a lot and if someone ruins their relationship with him, they would have to mean a LOT for him to really forgive them.

• CALCULATING/EXTREMELY SMART
He is usually the top of his classes when it comes to school work, he knows he could have a bright future ahead of him. He does want a decent future and a job that he enjoys and that pays well, hence why he studies more than most.
Art wouldn't be described as a nerd, he doesn't fit the stereotypes however he studies as much as one. If anyone needs him on a quiet day, the chances of him being in the library are high.
As much as he loves to study, he also loves a good prank and his calculating nature makes him great with plans.
This was probably why he was sorted in Ravenclaw, unlike both his parents who were sorted into Gryffindor. He has a daring side so it took the Sorting Hat a moment to decide, but overall his brains sorted him into Ravenclaw. He's incredibly witty.

• INSECURE
Deep down he's quiet an insecure young boy. He's confused on his sexuality, he's not the most masculine and it's not exactly excepted to be gay- he's conscious. Not to mention his hearing aids have always been a big source of insecurity for him.
He often wishes to be something he's not, trying to adopt these toxic masculinity traits but behind closed doors he couldn't care less about that stuff. He wants to look tough so people avoid messing with him and fit in. He's definitely not a bully but he will stick up for himself any day of the week, and his friend. He likes feeling 'pretty', it's something he's told often. He doesn't have those rough facial features, his facial features are more soft despite his usual hardened look upon his face.
Being sixteen, he's finding himself and working himself out.

For a fifteen year old, he's a bloody good fighter/dueller. He can't stand bullies so duelling the Slytherins in the corridors and getting detentions is a common occurrence for him. That's definitely his father coming through in him there...

• LAID BACK
His relationship with his own self love is very tense, however when it comes to friends and life in general he's pretty laid back. He studies a lot, yes, but when it comes to his knowledge he doesn't beat himself up about it. He's aware he's smart, he's not one to stress himself out about exams because he knows he works hard anyway.
When it comes to his friends he's super calm and easy to talk to. Atticus can offer a voice of reason.
Art has never been one for parties, he much prefers to have some good friends in a chilled out atmosphere. He finds too much chaos can give him a headache, as entertaining as it can be sometimes. He won't stick around long for the Quidditch parties, they don't really interest him.
If someone needs to calm down, he's the person to be around considering his relaxed vibes are known to be contagious. He's on this planet to have a good time, not a long time.

• SURPRISINGLY KIND
People may not expect it due to his resting bitch face and selfish traits, however he is incredibly kind to people. Don't get him wrong, he's not naive and he won't let people walk all over him like a doormat, but he is nice to people.
As much as he's confused about his own identity and journey, he's incredibly accepting of other people. If you're a guy that wants to wear a skirt of get in full drag or date other guys, he'll help you with your hair and outfit any day of the week and set you up. He's just anxious about his own self acceptance and he slightly envies people that are so authentically themselves. He admires it but doesn't quite have the confidence to do that himself just yet.
He's the type of person that doesn't approach many new people, but if they talk to him he's very accommodating and friendly.
It's easy to have a conversation with him considering he's so laid back and open to making new friends.

He knows what it's like to be bullied, it's one of his pet peeves and absolutely enrages him. He refuses to partake in any of that stuff and if he sees someone bullying someone else, he isn't afraid to give them a good punch. When it comes to bullying he completely sees red when it comes to most people.
If he really hates you though, his stubborn nature will come out and he won't care to protect you much.

BACKSTORY|

• Growing up, Art was raised by his mother and Remus Lupin. When Remus was struggling, he moved in with his mother, Evanora Verlice, they were good friends in Hogwarts so she was more than happy to give him a place to live.
Remus and Evanora were good friends in Hogwarts due to them both discovering that they were werewolves, when Arcturus was born her biggest fear was that she would have given him the genes of a werewolf, and luckily for him that's exactly what happened.
He doesn't talk about being a werewolf, luckily for him he takes his potion before every full moon however he has had a few accidents where he has forgotten and had to be locked in the Shrieking Shack at school. Only his family, Professor Dumbledore, and Professor Snape are currently aware of his situation.

He grew up thinking that his father was a criminal. His mother always insisted that Sirius Black was innocent, she was the only one he told that he wasn't actually the secret keeper before he went to confront Peter Pettigrew and ended up getting framed.
Lupin wasn't convinced considering back in the day Sirius was suspicious of him. He thought Sirius was guilty.
Due to these contrasted beliefs he was conflicted on what to believe, but he heard many stories of his father. He wanted to believe that he was an innocent man and he clung to that hope.

However, despite all the different beliefs, Remus raised him like he was his own. He was a brilliant father figure and as much as their family was a little unique he loved it. Remus still lives with him and he will always see him as a second dad. His mother and Remus were always extremely accepting and helped him whenever he needed. They wrote to him regularly and he loved having Remus as his Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher in third year.

At Hogwarts many people spread stories about him and his family, this is why he learnt to defend himself. He would also initially get picked on about his hearing aids but he was more than happy to shut that down faster than people could even open the flood gate.
In third year he was reunited with his father and his innocence was proven, at least to the people that mattered anyway.

He spent the next couple of years with his family whenever he could, especially spending time with his father. He heard so many stories of his time in Hogwarts and they grew extremely close.

Last year he and some of Dumbledore's Army went on a mission for the Prophecy, at this mission his dad was killed by Bellatrix Lestrange. He saw the life fade from his eyes and the past summer had been rough for him. He just got Sirius back and now he was dead. Since then he became a little bit more reserved with people, he didn't want to leave his mum to go to Hogwarts but reluctantly went when she insisted.

He's had a fairly strange journey so far, apart from his father and being a werewolf- he also faced the journey of being severely death.
When he was three his mother picked up on it and he got hearing aids not long after. He's a little conscious of them from bullying but doesn't let it limit him, he's learnt to lip read and he's always wearing his hearing aids so it's less of a problem for him now than when he was younger.

• He doesn't care about blood status in the slightest. He thinks they are just old bigoted views, if someone has magical abilities- they have magical abilities- isn't it just as simple as that..?
