The boy is a rather laid back kid, never really caring if he's doing the wrong thing. He enjoys being troublesome towards the Camden family, because he knows they don't like it. He hates the fact that they control him and have all power over him. The boy simply doesn't do the work he's suppose to do because he doesn't want to believe that he has to obey their orders. Underneath all the stubbornness, Maliki is really just a lost boy at heart. He's having trouble trying to figure out how to get out of this mess he is in, trying to figure out who he really is at the same time. Although the boy acts all tough and brave, he really is still a young boy, so things do really frighten him. Especially punishments.
