Folcard

FULL NAME: Alexander Folcard

NICKNAME: Often goes by Alex, but isn't really fond of nicknames

AGE UPON DEATH: 26

AGE IN TOTAL: 678

BIRTH DATE: December 15th, 1317

DEATH DATE: March 27th, 1342

DEMON TYPE: Ghost hybrid, almost like haunted armor (think of Reaper from Overwatch but more like a ghostly knight)

GENDER: Male

SEXUALITY: Gay (also Asexual)

HEIGHT: 6'3"

LOOKS: TBD (whenever I get the motivation to draw him, lol)

PERSONALITY:

- Some might say he's a bit uptight and doesn't know how to relax. When he was alive, he was pretty daring and carefree.

- He likes to have a schedule/plan to go by and gets anxious if there is none. Due to a habit, he often patrols the halls of the hotel. You can usually hear him before you see him if he's wearing his armor. Don't bother him unless you have a good reason to, he often does this to relieve stress or anxiety. He was a knight commander in his past life, he believes in discipline!

- Has major trust issues, especially with people he just met. This makes it hard for him to make good friends. On the rare chance he does make a friend, he loosens up a bit and his old self begins to show.

- Hardly ever removes his helmet around others. No one at the hotel has ever seen his face, just the soft glow that comes from behind the helmet. If someone tries to take it off, he will either get super defensive/angry or he'll run off and hide.

- Once he gets to know someone, he becomes protective over them because he's afraid of losing them. He will not hesitate to draw his sword on someone he sees as a threat and is very willing to die for that person.

- Always has his sword with him no matter what, despite what Charlie says about weapons in the hotel. He never goes anywhere without it. The sword itself gives off the same ghostly glow as his helmet does and is actually very similar to the one he had when he was alive.

POWERS:

- He can go through walls and floors, which usually ends with him scaring an unsuspecting demon, but can also become solid (again, think of Reaper). He can also disappear completely if he wants to.

- He can float/levitate for a good amount of time, but it's fairly exhausting and he tries not to do it too often.

- During battle, his armor glows a bright blue and his sword is bathed in a blue flame. When enraged, there is a good chance that he will lose control of himself and cause more damage than he means to. It takes a while for him to calm down and once he does, he hides in shame.

- He can heal wounds. The bigger the wound, the more energy is used. If he tries to heal a wound that's quite large, like a gaping hole in someone's side, he could possibly fall into a zombie-like state for a long period of time.

WEAPONS: The only weapon he uses frequently is his sword that he calls "Silverlight". He has a small dagger hidden beneath his armor in case he doesn't have time to draw his sword.

FEARS:

- Proditiophobia (the fear of being betrayed/being betrayed by someone you love)

- Strangers

- Losing a friend or someone he loves

LIKES:

- Cleaning and polishing his sword. He takes great pride in its upkeep because how can you be respected by others if your sword is all rusty and dull?

- He loves to cook for others since he used to do it for his fellow knights when he was alive. Something about making others happy warms his dead ghostly heart. While he likes most food, he's a total sucker for sweets since those were a rare treasure when he was alive.

- He often reads in his room when he doesn't want to socialize. Fantasy and space-themed books are his favorites.

- Contrary to popular belief, he doesn't like to scare people. He just likes to mess around with them by turning invisible and moving things around their room.

- He is very fond of cats and wishes he could have one.

- He likes chilling on top of things that he isn't supposed to just to piss off Vaggie

- Artists like Breaking Benjamin, Linkin Park, etc are his favorite.

DISLIKES:

- Showing his face to people he doesn't trust. He's quite self-conscious about the way he looks and the last thing he wants is to be made fun of.

- Demons who ask if they can "put their hand through him since he's basically a ghost". He finds it really annoying and rude.

- Demons who bring other demons down and don't care about how they feel. He often feels the need to stand up for those who can't stand up for themselves.

- Talking about how he died. It brings back painful memories and he gets depressed. Sometimes he'll talk about his past life, but he'll often leave out anything that had to do with the king he served.

- Rude demons who think chivalry is dead and have absolutely no manners. This old boi is boutta whoop some manners into them real quick-

WEAKNESSES:

- His inability to trust others completely makes it harder to get things done.

- When he's in a bad mood, he's more vulnerable to losing control and possibly hurting someone. When he's depressed, he's more susceptible to being manipulated into doing something he usually wouldn't if he was feeling alright.

- His fear of being betrayed will sometimes inhibit his ability to make good decisions because at that point, he's on fight or flight mode and his brain usually chooses flight.

STRENGTHS:

- Ghostly powers (mentioned in "powers")

- Sword-fighting skills

CAUSE OF DEATH:

BETRAYED BY THE KING HE SERVED

He served under a king of a massive empire and times were good. Famine hardly ever happened and the plague was only part of a fairy tale told to children.

One day, the king ordered Folcard and his men to go check on a village and see if the people were doing alright. Folcard agreed and took his men down to the village, which was a good ten miles away from the castle itself. When they arrived, they stumbled upon a horrifying scene. The king's own soldiers were attacking the village, setting it on fire, and killing the people. Folcard tried to stop them, but his own men were slaughtered in the process.

Soon it was just him and the hundreds of soldiers that had just murdered his men and the villagers. As he fell on his knees tearfully demanding why they did it, the general of the soldiers stepped up with a blade and said "You were a fool to believe the king cared about you and your men as well as these pathetic villagers. You are nothing to him."

And then, the general brought the blade down across Folcard's chest and left him to die. As he bled out, Folcard could only watch as the village burned down and his people perished from their own wounds.
