Delusional
Alright, this rewrite was a long time coming! I'm sorry it took so long to get to. I know many like the old version, so I left it up for everyone to enjoy. This story is a rewrite of "Become Mine And Mine Alone" for anyone who doesn't know.
I have made many changes to the story, along with putting it in it's own Multiverse. Thus characters have different names and look, act and are different compared to their OG Counterparts. Similarities may be there, but they may be very different right down to their pasts and their AUs. I have made a Character Sheet/Index to help everyone keep track of who is who. It also has the Warnings for this story listed in it, so please go check it out. It's a work in progress, more characters (and possibly more warnings) are to be added as time goes on.
Just a heads up, I won't be truly explaining how everyone looks in great detail because I haven't sketched them out yet - although of course I'll explain some details that are for sure decided. I want to make them look different to their OG Counterparts, even Error. Similarities are there (Delusion will still have tear marks going down his face, looking more like tears than lines compared to OG!Error) but I want it to be different overall.
In any case, I hope that everyone comes to enjoy this rewrite as much as the original one!
-Chapter Start-
[You delusional error!]
[How delusional are you?]
[Maybe he's deluded from all those hits he's taken?]
[Delusional, insane, crazy--that's what you are!]
Over and over.
Again and again.
Never ending.
The mostly dark colored Skeleton Monster could hear the Voices screaming at him from all angles. He's lost count of the years in this never ending white. The only color there is is from items that he has stolen from AU's before he destroyed them and his strings and various SOULS hanging from above him. At the start however it was truly nothing but white. No walls, no doors, nothing but white as far as the eyes could see.
Even now he can't help but shudder and tremble within it. Lifting his multicolored fingers to claw at his own bones, bringing himself pain as a means to not lose his mind anymore than he already has.
[Come fucking on! You need to stop living in your fucked up, delusional mind and get working already!]
[Can you even fucking here us through your deluded thoughts?]
[You worthless piece of useless shit! GET THE FUCK YOU YOU GOOD FOR NOTHING DELUDED GLITCH!]
Again and again.
Over and over.
Never ending.
Many times the Voices screaming at him have called him names. Long forgetting his own, he decides to take one of the words thrown at him as his own. If he's going to be called it might as well make it his name, right? There were plenty of words to chose from too; Error, glitch, worthless, stupid, insane, nothing, fool, broken, etc., etc., etc.. In the end however, he picked one that cropped up more than most others.
[You fucking insane, piece of delusional shit!]
[Stop your delusions and get off your ass and do your damn job!]
Delusion.
He must be delusional. That's the only reason he can think of for his thoughts. Who else in his position would one day think they could be free of all of this? That the pain would one day stop? How long has he been thinking this? The endless white has no sense of time, and he has long since lost count of how many years he has spent destroying. Nameless for so long, having no idea how he even came to be in the white, he took the only word that seemed to fit him better than anything else and take it as his own. Bring bitter thoughts and endless tears when alone.
[IT--]
Again--
[--IS--]
Over--
[--YOUR--]
Never--
[--FATE!]
Ending--!!
{Shhhhh~}
Glitching, eyes flying open, he glances around in panic. Breathing heavily, broken body twitching, he thinks this is finally it. So delusional that he is hearing things. Even his own delusions are mocking him. Soft, loving whispers that he will never hear in reality. Blinking away tears, he slowly moves up from his fetal position, hands smearing red onto the white 'ground'.
[Finally!]
[Get a move on you asshole, you have people to kill and places to destroy! It's all you're good for anyway, so I don't see why you're complaining about it]
[Delusion, you really need to stop getting trapped in your own mind so often. Maybe if we scream louder?]
Outfight flinching at that option, he stumbles up, choking on a scream. Spitting out some blood, he summons his strings to tie some bones together. If he goes out destroying now Stain would too easily defeat him, leading to him not doing his job properly. It took a bit of fumbling with his trembling hands, but eventually he got it.
Taking in a deep, stuttering breath, Delusion tried to stand as tall as he could. He needed to put on his best mask; the unfeeling destroyer. It makes it hurt less when Stain spews out nothing but poison at him.
'Why does he get to be obvious, ignorant of his duty?' Delusion asked himself, already knowing the answer. Where he is a puppet forced to go on, red strings choking him and pulling every which way, Stain is free of it all, forever the free one. Fate only loves one that Delusion knows of, and it isn't him. No, to his knowledge, Fate only loves Stain. The one Fate calls 'My True Child'. It makes him wonder sometimes what that makes Delusion. Where did he come from? Was he created by Fate to be a living puppet for what is needed while Stain has his fun? Was he stolen? Did he even have a past beyond the endless white that makes up the Anti-VOID?
Sometimes, just sometimes, Delusion wanted answers to these questions and more.
More often however, he doesn't want to know.
He knows the answers would break him in ways Fate could never achieve.
[--ANDING THERE!?]
Jolting, biting his bottom lip to stop from screaming, Delusion glitched. "aH..." Twitching, glancing around, he sighed. It looks like he got lost in his thoughts once more. Shaking it off, he lifted a hand and opened a glitching portal.
OceanTale!245 needs to be destroyed before it could touch PirateTale!160.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
"This is getting insane...." The Skeleton Monster with ink stains on him groaned, rubbing his face. "Tranquil, I know he's your brother, but honestly he's fucked up."
The Skeleton Monster dressed in bright colors standing next to his friend wished he could say something against it. Yet, looking around at the massacre around him, bodies everywhere with blood and dust in the air, he couldn't despite wanting to. Even with so many years passing, even with this insane fighting going on, Tranquil can't help but miss his brother. Can't help but want to cry for the brother he once knew. The shy one who loved reading. A bit standoffish and a loner, leaving to go read in the forest when the villagers or Tranquil got too rowdy for his tastes, but not having a mean bone in his body.
After eating that apple, his brother has became something he never once thought possible. Deluded in his want for control of the whole Multiverse for whatever reasons, lusting for power and possessive and obsessive beyond words. More wild, more feral in a way. Yet still, even with this....new additions to him, Tranquil can see pieces of his old brother still in there. It makes him hope that one day, things could go back to how they once were. His own little delusions, he supposes. If only because he knows that it's close to impossible for that to happen.
Glancing at the slaughter around him, it just shatters those delusions once more. But in time, he knows they will be pieced back together only to be shattered once more. It makes him want to laugh; just look how insane he must be to keep hoping for the impossible. To want something he can no longer have. How he misses his brother, yet looking around him, he can see that his deluded hopes will never come true. Yet hope burns at him, making him crave and want it all the more.
"Stain...." Tranquil sighs out, closing his eyes. "...I know....Please....Just.....please..."
Stain frowns, but inclines his head. "Fine, fine. Just... be more careful okay? We can't really hold back. Delirium has already gotten full control of two more AUs and just outright slaughtered another three that opposed him." Stain sighs, rubbing his face. "We should get the council together and try to come up with some sort of strategy. Maybe up the training for others?"
"Do you really think that would help?" Tranquil asks back, sadly frowning at the body of a child ripped in half.
"Anything would help right now." Stain bluntly says, kicking some snow colored red. "It'd really help if we got more help for one thing. But Rosy..." Stain trails off, thinking about the reaper, face twisting in annoyance.
"Is neutral at best." Tranquil finishes for him gently. "We've asked him countless times and the answer has always been the same."
"Yeah, something about death having no side." Stain rolls his eyes. "Well, what happens when Delirium kills off everyone then? What will a reaper do then? I can honestly see Delirium trying to kill a reaper too--"
"Stain, please."
Stain sighs, shoulders slumping. "Fine." Groaning, Stain looks out at everything around them. Taking in the dead bodies, dust, blood, destroyed houses--it reminds him of someone. "I don't sense any survivors." 'And Delirium isn't one to leave any.' Stain finishes in his thoughts.
"Neither do I." Tranquil says sadly. "Perhaps we should think up some plans and then gather the council to see if--" Tranquil turns his head, words stopping once he sees Stain go stiff, eyes narrowed in a deadly glare. Following Stain's line of sight, tense and ready for a fight, he frowns in confusion when he sees and senses nothing. Turning back to his friend, Tranquil tries getting his attention. "Stain? What is it?"
For a split second Tranquil thought he saw Stain's face twist into pure disgust and hate. It happened so fast that he honestly thinks he saw wrong. He must be wrong. After all, he has not once ever seen such a horrible look on his friends face. Not even when fighting against his brother in the worst conditions. No, he is wrong. A trick his mind is playing on him. What else could it be? Especially after seeing all this death around him, no wonder his mind is playing tricks on him again. No, instead, Stain's face turns and gives him a bright smile.
"Sorry, Tranquil, just remembered I have to do something real quick." Stain lifts a hand to rub the back of his neck, giving a sheepish smile. "Why don't you get started on those plans? I'll meet you with you later to go over them before we get the council involved."
"Oh?" Tranquil tilted his head at this sudden information. 'Ah, a new AU must have cropped up or he has an idea for a new AU.' Giving a smile, Tranquil nodded. "I understand, Stain. We'll meet up later?"
"You got it!" Stain winks, quickly rushing off and summoning a portal, rushing through it before Tranquil could even make out what was on the other side. Sighing and shaking his head, Tranquil glances around one final time. Shivering and feeling tears well up in his eyes. Even after all these years the tears never stop. Not when it comes to his brother.
"Delirium....." Tranquil's pained whisper echoed around him. "Why did you have to eat that apple? Why do this? Why....why can't you just come home to me? Let everything be as it once was?" Wiping his eye sockets, Tranquil allows himself a moment to just slump where he stands before standing tall once more. Turning around swiftly, he summoned a portal to his home.
'How delusional I am to continuing hoping for the impossible.'
------------------------------------------------
It says a lot when a reaper nearly has no fucks left to give.
Well, by that, it says a lot when a reaper is very close to just not doing his job and letting shit hit the fan so hard, spraying everywhere to the point where no one knows where it ends and starts.
Luckily for all of this shitty Multiverse, Rosy has one fuck left to give.
"Papa~!"
Smile growing on his usual deadpan face, Rosy turns and sees a tall, full grown Monster rushing towards him. Brightly colored and grin on his face. Opening his arms, Rosy chuckles when the Monster jumps, shifting mid-jump, the once fully grown adult Monster now a child, landing in his arms. Cuddling the now little one close, Rosy sighs in relief.
How wonderful is it to be able to find someone he can touch?
Someone to claim as his own?
To have a family?
"Tumult, having fun?" Rosy asks, shifting the child in his hold.
"Hmmm~!" Tumult nods, pushing up his glasses and lifting up the furby he had been playing with in the dead forest. "It's been totes radical, Papa! My bro and I were fightin' off some posers!"
Chuckling, Rosy allows Tumult's words wash over him. Listening to his son ramble on and on, Rosy couldn't help but feel so thankful for him. Without Tumult he would be stuck in an endless loop of not caring. He'd be lost and alone. He wouldn't even have a name to claim as his own. His son may be adopted, but he means more to him than anything else in this Multiverse. If it as up to him, he'd let the whole place burn with no cares left to give. Yet, with Tumult, he knows he can't do that. If he did, then Tumult wouldn't have the SOULS he needs to be able to survive.
How insane, how delusional, he is to take the role of father to a parasite. Death and Parasite - what a match they must make. One never changing, and the other changing so easily he can change his age within a second if needing or wanting to.
"--and then BAM! I radically saved the demon and kicked that totes funker off the tree!" Tumult finishes his tale of his 'playtime'.
"Sounds like a fun time~" Rosy coos out, giving a tiny kiss on Tumult's cheek, making him giggle and kick his legs. Sadly putting Tumult down, Rosy slumps, looking more dead than alive, but with a hint of a smile on his face. "Should we go visit your Aunt?" The reaper asks, fiddling with his headphones around his neck. "I'm sure she's making lunch right about now. You know how much she loves cooking for guests."
"Totes!" Tumult beams, jumping up and down in excitement. Rushing ahead, he skips - child turning into a teen. Sighing in humor, Rosy follows after, watching in amusement as his son changes ages on a whim, more than likely not even thinking about it or noticing it.
Why bother with the petty little squabbles going on in the Multiverse when he can focus all his free time on his son? So long as Tumult is fine, safe and happy, that's all that matters in his mind. Just thinking on how they first met to now.....Heh....
Rosy knows how delusional he is. How insane he must be.
But in the end it doesn't matter for one simple fact.
He doesn't care.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
"My King, I've done what you've asked for." A Skeleton Monster stated, kneeling in front of a throne, head bowed. "The ones who opposed us are no longer able to."
"Good~" A deep, dark voice nearly cooed out before chuckling. Leaning forward, the King grinned, showing his sharp teeth, eyes glowing ominously. "And the others?"
"Two have joined. We also were able to recruit some from the ones that refused us."
"Good, good." Nodding, leaning back on his throne, the King lost his grin and instead looked bored, tapping his finger on his throne. "Crucifix....."
"Yes, My King?" Crucifix snapped to attention, allowing himself to look up at the one he serves. Doubts starting to bubble in his mind, but his SOUL stays strong......
'For now.' Something in him whispers while another part of him yells 'Always!'
"Have you ever felt something is.... missing?" The King slowly asks, tilting his head.
"Missing?" Crucifix repeats. Frowning in thought, he tries to think on why his King would ask that. It looks like his King is in a musing mood today. Better than to have him angry or frustrated. Which he might get if he can't find out some sort of answer or response. "I...I can't think of anything, My King. Is..." Crucifix hesitates, debating on if he should ask or not. "Is it about taking control of the Multiverse or.....something more personal? Not that it's any of my business of course--" He stops himself when a hand is raised, signaling him to be silenced.
"Something personal missing...." The King mused, hand coming to his chin, tapping a finger in thought while he eye sockets narrow. "Yes...." He seems to growl this out. Only being used to this stops Crucifix from flinching and shivering.
His King, Delirium, is not a Monster to anger on any given day.
"That is all, Crucifix." Delirium dismisses. "If anything of importance happens, you know to contact me."
It's not a question.
"Of course, My King." Crucifix gives one final bow before standing, swiftly leaving. Only once the doors to the throne room shut behind him does he slump. Chuckling softly, he lifts a hand to his face, watching workers and soldiers roam around in front of him, going about their jobs in the castle.
'I'm a delusional mess to serve this Monster....yet, for the life of me, I can't have it any other way.... Not even with these doubts that Tranquil keeps putting in my head. I can't leave, not yet...' Crucifix straightens, ignoring a part of him that says 'Maybe never'.
Delirium might be a frightening Monster, might be anyone's nightmare, someone you wouldn't want to meet in any dark alleyway - yet, he isn't all bad. He protects those under him with monstrous glee if someone were to try anything against them. Taking an attack on them as an attack on himself. Yes, he can be stern and downright cruel if any lines of his are crossed, yet he allows them all to live their lives under him without much troubles so long as they follow his rules and laws.
Contradictory is one word Crucifix can give Delirium easily. A puzzle with layers that he thinks no one will solve. He has no idea why Delirium is working so hard to rule over them all. Has no idea about any of the reasons that Delirium holds for anything. He doesn't think anyone will ever truly know either.
{"Crucifix, please, you have to see this is wrong! Please, just listen to me, I can help you!"}
Sighing, shaking his head, Crucifix shakes off the thoughts. Perhaps he should stop by Horrortale!01 and go see his friend before anything else? Seeing his friends should help him keep the doubts creeping in his mind at bay.
He doesn't like feeling torn. He can only hope that soon, he can make a choice without any regrets. Turning, he walks off, nodding to people he passes by. All the while, whispers echo in his mind while his SOUL screams back.
------------------------------------------------
Watching one of his best soldiers leave, Delirium leaned back on his throne, one elbow on the armrest and resting his cheek on his fist.
'Something.....personal missing.....'
Eyes narrowing into a deadly glare, he growled lowly in his throat.
He has no idea when this feeling started. It's hard to pinpoint. At times it feels like he always had a feeling of something missing since the very start of his life, only growing and growing until it came to the point of no longer being able to deny it. Unable to even try to understand when it started was more than an annoyance. The biggest annoyance however is that he can't figure out what is missing.
He knows it's not Tranquil. He holds nothing but hate for his once brother by this point, wanting nothing more than to choke him and watch the life from his eyes die out. He doesn't miss anything from his past as well. He feels no need or desires for any item he once had back then. Even if he did, he could easily get a replacement. It's not as if he had much to call his own back then. Most of his past.....it just leaves a bitter taste in his mouth he rather forget. That crosses a lot off the list of things that he may be missing, however that still leaves the biggest questions of what and why.
This feeling, as if there is something empty in his very SOUL leaving him aching in ways he never thought possible, it just keeps growing! It's driving him to madness, making plotting and planning all the harder as this feeling slowly overtakes him. Sleep is getting harder and harder, words starting blurring and swimming when he stares down at paperwork he has to deal with. If he didn't think that his citizens and workers would think him more delusional and insane he would have roared and thrown his throne out one of the windows by this point.
It's as if it's on the tip of his tongue. Within his reach but still so far away! How is it possible to feel as if you are missing something so important that it's as if you're missing a piece of yourself? Just what is he missing? What doesn't he have? If it was full control of the whole Multiverse, he is well on his way so shouldn't the feeling be lessening if that was the case? If it's not that, then what is it?
Grumbling, he pinches the bridge of his nose, trying to calm himself. This feeling is driving him to the brink of pure insanity.
If nothing else he does know this; once he finds what is missing, he'll never let it go.
Rather fair of him, isn't it? Driving him to this state, it's the least he can do.
Leaning back with a smirk, Delirium relaxes in his throne.
"Hah....Hahahaha..... Mine has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?"
One day, all will be his if he gets his say on the matter.
-------------------------------------------------
"Brother...." Slowly moving up towards the man with a kind, loving smile, eyes hidden behind a hood, she tilted her head and pointed to the scene playing in the body of water. "Your child is going to fight Delusion once more." She observes. "Fate, I have a feeling about all this...."
"No worries Destiny, Stain will be fine as always." Fate waves off the concern, walking to stand in front of the lake, red strings tangled around his fingers as he grins down at the images playing within the water. "Not like Delusion has any true control~"
Standing behind Fate, he doesn't see Destiny's lips slowly twist into a mocking smile of her usual kind and loving one.
She has a feeling about all this. Able to see so much yet do so little. She just needs one moment, one single moment, and then she can finally do something.
If what she feels will happen, happens......
Hands around her back, magic flickering between her fingers. Eyes locked onto Fate's back. Destiny's eyes curved under her hood, sharp as knives teeth peeking out from her lips as she grins. It's all she needs to make things right. To allow everyone a chance. Not just for her chosen child, but for everyone. Fingers twitching,
One--
--Single--
--Moment.
Within a second, her face goes back to normal just before Fate turns to smile down at her. Kind and loving smile, so motherly and kind, eyes under the hood gleaming and hidden.
~It's all she needs~
{What wouldn't a mother do for her children?}
-End Chapter-
As everyone can see, this story is going to be different compared to the original - even at the start. However, main points will stay the same for the most part. Luckily I didn't get too far in the original, making it easier to make various changes to it while keeping a lot similar without much issues.
I hope that everyone enjoys this story as much as I do making it! I had hoped to put this out on Valentines Day, but it didn't work out that way lol. Sorry about that. I hope that everyone had a sweet one! I had a nice one myself, but then again every day is Valentines Day with My Dear~!
Ah, I best stop before I start gushing about her again. I have a habit of bragging about her and gushing about her. Can't help it when she more than deserves it. In any case, I have a lot planed for this story, so I'm very excited to get elbows deep into it! Time to work on the next chapter~!
