It was January 12th when Taehyung saw him for the first time, he remembers this day perfectly in his mind.
He had taken the usual route to the campus library as he did every day, only that day was different.
When he got to his usual seat in the corner near the window there sat the most beautiful creature he'd ever laid eyes on.
His first thought was to turn away and leave him be, it was just a stupid seat. But he couldn't walk away. He was almost in a trance staring at the beautiful stranger.
"Can I help you?"
Taehyung remembers hearing his voice for the first time, he remembers wondering how such an angelic person could ever exist.
"Sorry, I usually sit there. No worries though," He said shaking his head dismissively as he started to turn away.
"I don't mind if you join me," He said, removing one of his earbuds.
"It's fine~"
"Here." He moved his books from the seat across from him and placed them beside him. "You can sit there."
"Um, thanks," Taehyung said, pulling the chair out and taking a seat.
"Sure." He put his earbud back in his ear and returned to his work.
That was the first time Taehyung saw him and the first time he heard his voice.
It would be another month before he knew his name, an entire month.

That day is February 13th when Taehyung take his usual seat across from the boy, his earbuds in his ears and his hair styled perfectly across his forehead.
Taehyung had grown used to the silent smile shared between them when he arrived everyday at 2pm. That is the only interaction they exchange before focusing their attention on their work.
Taehyung sneaks glances and wonders who exactly he is and why he started showing up at the library in the middle of the course.
As he is wondering, a stranger storms up to their table with a heated expression on his face.
"Jeongguk!" He shouts despite being in the library.
The brunette's head snaps up at the sound of the stranger's voice, his eyes widening as he pulls his earbuds from his ears.
"What the hell are you doing? Do you have any idea what time it is?" The stranger continues to speak loudly as he pushes the expensive shades he was wearing onto his head.
As far as Taehyung could tell the stranger had just as perfect, if not more perfect, features as the brunette he had been sitting across from for more than a month now.
Jeongguk packs his things quickly, standing as a string of apologies leaves his lips.
"What did I tell you about time management?" The stranger asks, checking the expensive watch he was wearing. "If you're late for this appointment we'll be waiting another two months."
"I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention." The brunette's eyes flicker to Taehyung as he stuffs his things into his backpack.
"Who's this?" The male asks after following Jeongguk's eyes.
"I-I don't know. He just sits here sometimes." Jeongguk shrugs, throwing his backpack over his shoulder. "Let's just go, Jimin."
And so he has a name too today...Jimin.
Taehyung looks down at his work after meeting Jimin's glare for a moment.
"Jimin," The brunette insists, his words more desperate than they were before. "Come on, we're gonna be late."
"We're going to be late because of you, so you come on, Jeongguk." Jimin snaps, pushing his shades down over his eyes before storming off. "Let's go."
Taehyung looks up at Jeongguk once more and the brunette's eyes meet his.
He looks as if he meant to say something before he breaks eye contact and follows Jimin to the exit.
Taehyung doesn't see Jeongguk for another two, almost three, weeks. When he does finally see him sitting at the table again, he feels a bit of worry for him.
Taehyung had been seeing him for over a month now and the brunette was always dressed in expensive clothes with his hair styled to perfection. Taehyung can see through all that perfection, and he somehow he sees Jeongguk's brokenness.
When Taehyung sits down Jeongguk doesn't look up or even acknowledge him like he usually did. He keeps his eyes focused on the book he was reading.
Taehyung is tempted to initiate a conversation, but he can't find the courage. So he remains silent as he starts his own work.
They manage to sit across from each other without speaking a word to one another for an entire two months, Jeongguk keeps his earbuds in and never meets Taehyung's eye after that day. Jeongguk disappears for weeks at a time and returns as if his absence never occurred.
Taehyung finds himself looking for the brunette around campus when he isn't in the library, wondering why he'd never seen him until he showed up there.
That was nearly three months ago now and all Taehyung has done is sneak glances at Jeongguk as they studied and wonder who he was.
Taehyung is currently walking with his brother Seokjin around the campus of the university that Seokjin's father paid a lot for them both to attend.
"Are you listening at all?" Seokjin asks, a twinge of annoyance in his tone.
"I'm sorry~"
"My father is spending too much money for us to go to school for you to waste each day," The older repeats. "If you're going to go to college at least make the most of it."
"I'm on the dean's list," Taehyung says, looking at him.
"And? That's expected of you." Seokjin shrugs. "I'm not talking about grades, I'm talking about your social life. You've been here for a year almost and you don't have any friends."
"I've tried making friends." The younger sighs. "It's not as easy for me."
"What about your roommate? How's he?" The older questions as they cross the street.
"I'm thinking about getting an apartment," Taehyung says instead of answering directly—earning a grown in response. "I like having my own space."
"You're such a crab, always hiding away in that shell of yours. My father can't stand it," Seokjin says. "It makes me feel sorry for your mother."
"Thanks, hyung," The younger says sarcastically. "You always know just what to say."
"I'm only looking out for you. How do you ever expect to start dating and planning your life if you never talk to anyone?" The older asks. "Seriously it's upsetting. And an apartment? Really? First a car, now an apartment. You're unbelievable."
"It's hard for me to be social. I try, I'm not like you," Taehyung says, he hated himself for not being as social as Seokjin.
"Why don't you come out with me and my friends tonight? You can bring your roommate," Seokjin offers. "I'm not taking no for an answer, seriously."
"I'll ask him if he wants to come." Taehyung checks his watch. "I'm going to the library."
"On the weekend?" His brother asks judgmentally.
"Gotta keep my grades up, hyung." He shrugs as he heads in the direction of the library without his brother.
Taehyung ignores Seokjin's complaints about him being in the library all the time as he crosses the street.
When he gets to his usual spot in the secluded area of the library he finds his table empty.
No Jeongguk today.
Taehyung was used to the brunette disappearing for weeks at a time, but he always hoped he'd return soon.
Despite the little to no conversation between them, he enjoyed Jeongguk's company.
