Amara waited hours for Charlie to text her back but hours turned into days and she just stopped caring for a text back

She went to the Starbucks that day just to get stood up so she let all thoughts of Charlie go

"Amara! table 6!" Blue yelled "french toast-"

"On it!" she called out walking in the back grabbing the food

"you're on a roll today" blue laughed at her

"I know right she's super active today" Kylie teased

Amara rolled her eyes "the secret it cocaine" she cracked a smile walking out to their faces

holding the hot plate in her hand she sat the plates down at table six

"here you go" she placed the drink in front of the women sitting at the table

"would you like anything else?" she asked smiling looking up at the ladies at the table

"we're good sweetheart thank you" the older white women said smiling at her showing her wrinkles

The diner door opened up Amara didn't look  over towards the door

"well enjoy your breakfast " she walked away from them heading towards the back

"your table Ky" Amara said walking in the back

"handle it for me Amara please"

"huh? heck no if I handle it then I get their tips" Amara said fake pouting

Blue pecked Kylie lips "go handle it Amara" he turned to Amara smirking

"i'm so over you too" she rolled her eyes playfully and walked out from the back

making her way over to the table she pulled out her note pad

"Hello welcome to Beth Diners i'm Amara your waitress for tod-"

she looked up and noticed those familiar eyes

"I miss you Amara"

"What can I get you today?" completely ignoring his comment

"Coffee you know how I like it" he tried to flirt with her

"how would you like it?" she ignored his comment again

"3 sugars Amara are you serious right now?"

"i'll bring you your coffee"

Amara walked away from the table rushing to the back

"Sean is here" she quickly said to Kylie

"who?" Kylie asked frowning

"my ex-"

"ohhh fuck me Sean the dimples hazel eyes mocha tall fine Sean!?"

Amara rolled her eyes as Blue pushed Kylie

"the hell are you calling him fine for!?" Blue yelled

"he is baby- i'm sorry!" Kylie smiled "the hell is he here for?"

"for food" Blue said in a duh tone

"no more like Amara" Kylie said smirking "go talk to him girl

"no" Amara walked out and made Seans coffee

walking back to his table "here you are" she placed the cup down

"can we talk?" he looked up at her

she shook her head "working" turning around about to walk away Sean grabbed her wrist

"please"

Amara sighed "on my lunch break"

"when is that?"

"in a hour" she shrugged

Sean sat at the table for exactly an hour waiting for Amara to finish up

She was surprised when she walked back to his table without her uniform on

"you wanted to talk what's up?" she sat in front of him

"you know" he folded his hands looking at her "i've been thinking honestly Mar i've been working on myself"

"why now? actually how's the baby?"

Sean tensed up "Amara I came to talk about you-"

"For what? you left me for her you cheated on me and had a child it's too much Sean way to much" she shook her head

"I know i'm working on getting a DNA test soon"

"what does that have to do with me?" she asked sitting back looking him in the eyes

"Amara I want to be with you!" he slammed his hand on the table

a few people looked over startled

"you have to go" she sighed "you weren't thinking about me then don't worry about me now" she got up

the diner door chimed as some people left out

"Amara!" Sean stood up to his actual height

"Goodbye Sean" she walked away from him walking in the back

"and that is why she doesn't talk to him anymore" Kylie said pointed towards Sean

Blue had his hand over his mouth

"wow he did you like that Mar" Blue mumbled

"please shut up" Amara grabbed her uniform and went to go put it back on

Walking out of the back she saw Kylie standing by the counter talking to someone sitting down

Kylie looked in the direction of Amara and walked over to her

"someone is here for you" Kylie said smirking walking pass her

Amara looked forward and sighed walking up to Charlie

"what can I get you today?" she asked still looking at her notepad

"nothing" he said dryly

"Okay" she put the notepad down "why didn't you call or something?"

"something came up" not once did Charlie break eye contact with her

she cleared her throat breaking eye contact but looked back at him "like what?"

"you wouldn't understand"

"try me" she leaned on the counter "because it had to be something very important for you to ignore me for 3 whole days Charlie"

"it was a family accident" he lied "I was in the hospital"

her face softened "oh"

"yeah it wasn't nothing major and my dad is fine now so it's okay" He lied again

"I hope he gets better " she stood up

"let me make it up to you"

"how?" frowning and cocked her head to the side slightly

"let me take you out tonight" he said standing up

"seriously?" she asked

"all seriousness"

"okay"

"alright" he smirked "it's a date"

"I guess so" she smiled at him

"i'll call you beautiful" he turned around and walked towards the exit

"I seriously just want to know what kind of pussy you have to have not one but two guys in this bitch crying to take you out" Kylie said behind Amara

"please shut up nobody was crying" she started laughing

"they both looked like they were begging to me" Kylie said shaking her head

"whatever" Amara smiled getting back to work

"Are you done for today Mar?" Blue called out from the back

"yeah" she looked around the empty Diner and walked towards the back

"are you going out with that fine white guy he's so giving me what's that killer name!?" Kylie snapped her fingers closing her eyes

Blue started laughing "shut up"

"a killer? goodbye i'm not about to play with y'all" Amara laughed

"be safe Mar call me if you need anything" Kylie stopped smiling looking at her and Amara nodded in response
