1- Aiden
Aiden had just stopped at the post office to pick up his mail, he had been flying for the past week and had just flown back home from Mexico. Once he got home he started going through all his mail and saw that he had a fancy looking envelope from his brother. He opened it up and saw that it was an invite to his brother's wedding and was shocked to see that it was only about a month away.
He was surprised that he hadn't heard anything about his brother getting married, he picked up his phone and called him. After a few rings his brother answered. "Hey Kyle, what's this shit that you're getting married, not even bothering to call and fill me in on the news?"
"I tried calling you, you never answered.... I also left you a few messages for you to call me back which you never did." Kyle says in a huff.
"I know that I have been busy, but I never received any messages. I would have called you back, especially about something like this." Aiden says feeling hurt.
"Maybe you should double check them then, I know that they are there. I was also going to ask you to be my best man but when you never called me back I figured that I couldn't rely on you, its like your job is more important than family. You probably would have forgot that it was going on and miss the whole event.
"Kyle, you're my brother, that's not something I would forget, I'd make time for that, but whatever... it's your wedding." Aiden sighs as he talks to him on the phone.
"Just make sure that you bring your girlfriend, mom really wants to finally meet her, she's expecting her to be there." Kyle says to him.
Aiden swallows hard and pauses as he looks at the invite "Yea will see what she has going on, I cannot promise you that she will be there."
"Promise me you'll bring her, and make sure you fill out that meal card and send it back right away, we need to know what everyone wants to eat and get it all ordered within the next week." Kyle says to him in a demanding way.
"Yea, I'll get right on it." Aiden tells him sighing before hanging up the phone.
"Fuck." Aiden yells out, dropping his phone on the counter.
Aiden stood against the counter looking at his phone and called his voice mail to check his messages. His brother's messages were there and then felt bad, he thought he checked them. He then stood there thinking, he had to find a girl and bring her to the wedding, he didn't have the heart to tell Kyle that he had broke up with his girlfriend month's ago, that she couldn't handle him being gone all the time. He would never have heard the end of it.
He then decided to call his ex Savannah, even though he was actually enjoying the life of being single, he was hoping that she still had feelings for him and would like to go along he did miss her. He grabbed his phone and stared at her number for a few minutes before pressing the call button. He finally got the nerve and called her, she was shocked to hear his voice and even more surprised that he asked her to go to the wedding with him.
"Seriously Aiden? We haven't been together in months, then you call me out of the blue and ask me to join you at your brother's wedding? What the fuck is wrong with you? Besides I found someone way better than you that cares more about me than himself, fuck off." Savannah says before hanging up on him.
"Hello?" He says into the phone, pulling it away from his ear, he looks at the phone and saw that she hung up. "Fuck, fuck, fuck..." He says pissed throwing his phone on the couch.
Frustrated and upset about Savannah and her words to him, he unpacked his luggage and decided to take a shower, he stood in the shower resting his hand against the wall and let the water fall on him, thinking about what to do. He wasn't ready to be in another relationship just yet, he knew he had off for a couple days and decided to head over to the nightclub for a while and blow off some steam.
Walking into the nightclub he looked around at all the girls that were there in hopes he might find someone decent to talk to. He walked up to the bar to order a drink. While ordering a drink he ran into a friend of his that was sitting at the bar. "I'll have a beer and a double shot of red stag." Aiden says to the bartender.
"Dude, you look like shit, you really need to take some time off of work." Kevin says to Aiden.
Aiden turns his head after recognizing the voice and see's that it is one of his good friends he hadn't seen in a while "No shit, I've been flying non stop for the past week, I then come home to find out that my brother is getting married and that I am expected to be bringing my girlfriend, which isn't happening." Aiden sighs taking his shot.
"What.. Did you and Savannah break up?" Kevin asks shocked.
"Yeah, a few months ago. She didn't like that I was gone all the time, and claims that I wasn't fulfilling her needs. I had called her earlier this evening and had asked if she would like to go, she basically told me to get bent, and that she found someone better, then hung up on me."
Kevin laughs at him and orders another round of shots for the both of them. "Sounds like you're fucked... I thought you were going to marry that girl."
Aiden takes a deep breath "It's not funny. I had planned on marrying her, I had bought a ring for her and had it all set up to propose to her."
"Did you even get to show her the ring?"
"Nope, the day I bought it, I had taken her to this fancy restaurant downtown and was getting ready to propose to her, she then broke it off with me." Aiden says turning his back and leans against the bar. "It's a good thing they let me return the ring the next day, I didn't think that they would, I would have been screwed I spent a lot on that ring." Aiden sighs
"Wow... that's fucked up. Well I guess it's better that it happened now than after you're married.. right?" Kevin says patting Aiden's back. Aiden nods his head "Enough about her, I have a month until the wedding to find a girl."
Aiden stands against the bar drinking his beer looking around at all the woman in the club. He saw a woman who looked more his type, she was long legged and had long blonde hair, and dressed very risque, he takes a swig of his beer and sets it down on the bar, he was about to head over to talk to her until he saw a guy come up to her and kiss her. "Well scratch that one." He says to Kevin, pointing over to the beautiful blonde.
"What about that brunette over there?" Kevin says pointing across the bar. "She's pretty damn good looking."
"I don't know, I'm more of a blonde haired kind of guy."
"Quit being so damn picky, you have to find someone right? Who cares what color hair they have."
"Yea, you're right, she is pretty hot for a brunette. Well I'll go talk to her, hold my spot." Aiden says as he sets his beer down and walks over to the girl that was sitting across the bar and sits down next to her. She had just ordered herself a drink, Aiden pulls out some cash "I've got that and I'll have another beer please." Aiden says to the bartender. The girl looks at him and smiles. "Thanks, I could have bought my own drink."
"It's my pleasure." He says as the bartender hands them their drinks. "Would you like to step away from the bar? You're melting all the ice." He winks.
She looks at him and laughs "Sorry, nice pick up line, that's a new one. But I'm married." She says to him flashing him her hand."
"You didn't say happily." He smiles.
"Fine, I'm happily married, thanks for the drink." She says to him walking away.
Aiden takes a swig of his beer "Well that went well." He mumbles to himself. He stands back up and walks back over to Kevin. "How did it go?" Kevin asks
"She's married." He sighs. "I think I've lost my touch, I usually can always tell if they're married."
"Well the bar might not find you the right girl... you could always call one of those places where you can hire a date." Kevin grins.
"Yea right, you never know what you'll be getting then, what if she's plain looking or just fugly..."
"I'm sure they screen all their employees and hire only the best looking ones, just for those reasons. Think about it, they have to keep up a good reputation and to keep their clients coming back for more of their services.
"That's true too. Hmm, I'll have to keep that in mind." Taking another drink and scanning around the bar and dance floor thinking about the option that Kevin told him that he should try, the more he thinks about it the more he likes the idea, almost liking it too much to where he wouldn't have to worry about breaking another girl's heart, and still enjoy doing the things he loves without being questioned or harped on about.
"I think that I'm going try that hired date thing out." Aiden says looking at Kevin.
"Seriously think about it, what do you have to lose? It's only for one night right?"
"Well actually it would be for the weekend. He's not getting married here in North Carolina."
"Really? Where is he getting married?"
"Hawaii, that's why this is going to be hard, I was so sure that Savannah would have wanted to go with, she always wanted to go there."
"Well, you better have some extra money then, cause that will be one very expensive date!" Kevin laughs.
Aiden slams his beer "I'll catch ya later, I'm going to go home and figure this shit all out."
Aiden leaves the bar bumming about the situation, almost to the point that he might just go alone and just tell his family what had happened. Once he got home he looked online seeing who to call and one who would be willing to travel for the weekend.
He googled hire a date and found a few sites. One site he scrolled through the pictures of dates to hire and didn't care for the choices, and then clicked on another one searching through their site and found some that he wouldn't mind. He clicked on his choices and filled out all the information needed. Before putting his credit card information in he sat there staring at his laptop debating on if he really wanted to go through with it.
"Fuck it, all they can say is no." He grumbles. He entered his card info, and hit send. "We will see who I get I guess." He says talking to himself. He then looked through the pictures again hoping he chose the right ones, after looking through them all there was a brunette that caught his eye.
"Wow..she's a looker. I wouldn't have minded her either." He mumbles to himself before falling asleep with his laptop on his lap.
Hope the first chapter was OK, it's got to start somewhere right? 😊😊👍👍
