( 𝟎𝟑𝟔 ) the birthday party
'party guessed'
⋅•⋅⊰∙∘☽༓☾∘∙⊱⋅•⋅
THE PARTY WASN'T exactly what Lexi thought it would be like, every single year, the Martin' twins parties were the 'it party', people would do anything to get an invite to it, and were devastated when they didn't get an invite, but what Lexi was seeing right now, wasn't that, and it broke her heart. Every year, the one thing that Lydia always most looked forwards to, was their birthday party, and Lexi always did het bit with setting up the party, and overall bringing the excitement for the event so that people would show up. This year was different; people avoided not only Lydia, but Lexi, too, believing that the Martin twins were both crazy in their own way, and not only had Jackson broken up with the older twin; but Lexi had also been seen hanging out with Scott and Stiles, rather than the 'popular students' that Lydia always made her hang out with at school. But that never stopped Lexi from hanging out with the people that she wanted to, and Lydia knew that, so the girl had just stepped down and given up with her role as the most popular girl, that, and she was going through much worse things than to care about what was happening at school right now.
As Lexi stood by the back door in her garden, looking around at the place and at how empty it all was, the fact that there was no one here, and probably won't be at all; she had tried avoiding Lydia since she had come back downstairs with Stiles to answer the door, because she didn't know if she would be able to face the girl with how upset she clearly was that the party wasn't going the way she wanted it to. Lydia was great at hiding her feelings when it could ruin her reputation, or make her look stupid, and the girl believed that she would look stupid because of this party, because no one had showed up, but even if the people here didn't care about that, Lydia did, and seeing her sister hide her distress, wasn't something that Lexi enjoyed. Jackson didn't even turn up, which was the mail in the coffin for Lydia, as it meant that the boy may be finally done with her, that they were done for good, and Lydia had always loved Jackson, just making things even worse for her.
Lexi moved over to where Lydia was standing with a tray of drinks, looking around at the empty garden with a hidden look on her face, one that Lexi could see right through. "I'm sure everyone's running late." The girl stated to her sister.
Lydia let her face fall for just a second, enough time for Lexi to spot it and confirm that the girl was truly hurting inside, but even the tiniest bit of fear showed up on her face, where Lexi had also noticed that, too, when it quickly covered back up. "I know they are." Lydia said, shaking her head and chuckling, hiding yet again her true feelings. Lexi nodded her head, before gladly accepting a cup of punch that her sister had offered her; looking back at the door to their house, Lexi saw Stiles standing with Scott and Allison, the three of them looking over at the Martin twins', Lexi merely smiled over at them, mostly Stiles, who raised his hand to wave at her.
Looking back at Lydia, Lexi knew that she needed to do something about the fact that nobody was here at the party — although, she had no idea as to how she would do that, but maybe Scott did.. So, the girl headed straight over to them, knowing that she needed to do something about this, "Hey, no one's here.. What can we do to get people here?" Lexi asked, not even bothering to say hi, knowing that they needed to hurry up and get the party going for Lydia.
Scott, who was already trying to think of a way to get people to show up even before Lexi had come over to ask them how to; they were all feeling terrible for how they had been ignoring Lydia to try and keep the supernatural secret, and Scott had even gotten Lexi to keep the secret, too, making him feel even worse about the situation. That, and Lydia was now the town wack-job, and people knew that, which is why they hadn't showed up to this party, "I was just saying that I could use my co-Captain status to get the lacrosse team here." Scott said, as Lexi was instantly grateful at how he was already trying to make this party better.
"Yeah, I also know some people who can get this thing going." Stiles spoke up, causing all three of the teenagers around him to look at him in confusion, "Like, really going." The boy added, remembering the group of people he had met not long ago so he could invite them all to get the party going.
"Really, who?" Allison asked, just as confused as Lexi was at who Stiles could be talking about.
"I met them the other night. Let's just say they know how to party." Stiles explained, and not exactly knowing who these people were, Lexi eventually nodded, knowing that she should just trust Stiles that he would bring decent people to get this party going; but when she did that, she didn't know the extent of the people coming, and Lexi knew that later, she would have a hard time cleaning up the place later, so their mom wouldn't get mad.
As the girl stood besides Stiles and looked around at the new, busy party thanks to Scott and Stiles, even if she may not be the happiest about how many people were here, the smile on Lydia's face made it all better in the end; with another glass of punch on her hands, the girl looked down as Scott took a seat next to them, the boy instantly glancing over at Allison as she spoke with Lydia, the girl also glancing over at Scott, exchanging an almost, awkward look. "Are you gonna apologise to Allison?" Stiles asked, as Lexi held in a sigh at his question, always hearing about how the couple were, instead of serious matters about Jackson being the Kanima and what they were going to do about it.
"Why should I apologise?" Scott asked, not understanding why he should be the one to say sorry when he didn't even do anything wrong in the situation.
Stiles glanced back at Lexi, not knowing if he should 'guy talk' with Scott in front of the girl, because he didn't want her to think any different of him, but at the same time, the girl didn't seem like the kind of person to care about any of that, so he shrugged, before turning back around to face his best friend. "Because you're the guy, it's what we do." The boy eventually spoke up, nervous that Lexi would speak up and say that he was wrong.
But when he saw that she shrugged back at his words, he felt giddish inside, like he had the best girl in the world. "I mean, he's not wrong." The girl said, knowing for a fact that if she and Stiles were having an argument, she would be grateful if he apologised to her, first.
"But I didn't even do anything wrong." Scott told the pair, not wanting to apologise to Allison.
"Then you should definitely apologise. See, anytime a guy thinks he hasn't done anything wrong, it means he's definitely done something wrong." Stiles said, as Lexi shook her head at the boys words.
"Just because you're the guy, doesn't mean you should have to apologise." Lexi said, hoping that Stiles didn't have them thoughts with her, since if he didn't want to apologise to her, he shouldn't have to. "Scott, if you don't feel like you did anything wrong, you shouldn't have to apologise to her." She said, knowing herself that Allison was now on her family's side, on the hunters side, which Lexi didn't agree with, since they had all done terrible things to werewolves, to people.
Stiles sighed, looking up at the sky exasperation, "Guys, something's gotta go right here. I mean, we're getting our asses totally kicked, if you haven't noticed. People are dying. I got my dad fired, Lexi has weird witchy powers. You're gonna be held back in school. Everyone thinks Lydia is a nut job, and on top of all of that, if I gotta watch you loose Allison to a stalker like Matt, I'm gonna stab myself in the face." He finished, Lexi nodding at his words about his words about herself having 'witchy powers', because that's exactly what she had, but the fact that Allison may date a guy like Matt, made the girl laugh slightly, Stiles looking at her in confusion.
"I don't think Scott has to worry about Matt. I know for a fact that Allison doesn't like him, so don't worry about that." Lexi told Scott, as he looked extremely glad at her words. Until his face fell from looking behind Lexi and Stiles, seeing something that shocked him to the core, "What?" Lexi asked, giving him a confused look.
"Jackson's here." Scott announced, causing Lexi to immediately spin around to check if Scott was imagining things or not, but ultimately seeing her sisters ex-boyfriend walk out of the back door, looking around and acting like he hadn't just murdered a group of people in his lizard state — Lexi was ultimately terrified of him. When Lydia turned around and saw Jackson, Lexi felt her heart drop into the pit of her stomach, scared for her sister, not just from Jackson's lizard side, but from the girls feelings about the boy, since she loved him, and he didn't love her anymore, at least, that's what he told her. Lydia handed Jackson a glass of punch; before walking away, leaving the guy to sip his drink and look around at the party goers, his look scaring Lexi and fearing what he may do here.
Lexi sighed, looking back at Scott and Stiles, "I'll be right back." She told them both, not giving them an answer before walking away towards her sister, stopping by the punch bowl where Lydia was pouring another glass of punch. "Hey, did you invite Jackson, then?" She asked, unsure as to why he had come when he broke up with her.
Lydia looked up from the punch bowl at her sister, "Yeah, I did." She said, shrugging as she filled up the glass of punch.
"You spoke to him?" Lexi asked, unsure about the whole situation, looking down at the cup of punch that Lydia had motioned towards her, basically telling her that she should take the drink from her hands, "No, I'm good, thanks." Lexi said, shaking her head as she didn't feel like drinking tonight, especially not now that Jackson was at the party, she needed to be on guard with him here, and she shouldn't be drinking whilst doing so.
Lydia rolled her eyes at her sister, "Don't be boring. It's a party." She complained, not moving the cup away from her sister, and knowing that she wasn't going to move it away until Lexi took it. And she eventually took it, knowing that Lydia never really took no for an answer, especially with her sister — Lydia smiled at Lexi, "Good, now drink up, it's a party." She finished, before walking away from her. Lexi sighed, turning to face Stiles and Scott, who were all still looking over at her, watching her and Lydia for some sort of indication on what is going on with Jackson; she shrugged, before bringing the cup to her lips, and taking her first sip of the punch.
Stiles rushed over to her as Scott watched from a distance, listening in to what they were both saying to each other, "So, did she invite Jackson? Why?" He asked, not sure about the whole situation.
Lexi shrugged, "She still loves him." She said, taking another sip of her drink, and strangely, feeling the effects of the drink immediately, "You want to dance? This drink tastes great!" She exclaimed, as Stiles looked at her strangely before looking down at her drink, then his own, which he hadn't exactly drank, yet. Before he could speak up on the subject, however, the girl pulled the front of the boys shirt, pulling him towards her and pressing her lips against his instantly, the girls arms wrapping around him as her drink hung out of her hand behind his back, the boys arms instantly wrapping around her waist and gripping right, extremely happy about the situation at hand. Their relationship was moving very slowly, they were both nervous and anxious about their feelings for one another, they knew they liked each other a lot, even if they hadn't expressed it as much as other couples would; but they knew the pace they were taking, and they were both comfortable with it. Scott smiled at the two of his friends before looking away to give them privacy, something that no one else could really give, but they didn't seem to care, standing in their own little bubble and enjoying it, too, he couldn't be more happy with the two of them and their feelings.
After a lengthy kiss, Lexi pulled away and placed a hand on the side of his face, looking into his eyes and blurring out words that she didn't think she could say, so early on. "I think I'm falling in love with you." She admitted, not noticing the look of complete shock on his face, not expecting those words to come from her mouth, either.
But, before he could even reply to her words, and say, finally admit what he had been feeling for his whole life, that he loved her, and had for a long time, now, and would never be able to stop, when Lexi simply walked away, swaying in her step as he stood in shock, not knowing what to do about Lexi's words; but he now knew one thing.. Lexi Martin was falling in love with him.
