'raving'

STILES EXPLAINED TO Lexi everything in what he had figured out with his father down at the station, about the class of 2006, and who the next murder may be, and the whole ordeal just kept freaking her the hell out, knowing that someone else could definitely die because they hadn't figured out a way to shop Jackson, yet. Lexi had been feeling even worse as the days went on, the remembrance of Deaton falling her a warning bell for the lack — she knew for a fact that her feeling was just that, a warning bell, that something dangerous was going to happen, and soon. The rave was coming up, and everyone knew that it was where the Kanima would strike next, as well as the ongoing feeling Lexi had about danger, Deaton instantly knew that they should trust her instinct, knowing that an empath instincts were always the ones to go on — Lexi had brought Scott a ticket for the rave so he could get in, whilst Derek had brought Erica and Isaac's, knowing that they were needed inside of the club. Even being an empath, Lexi didn't have the strength of a werewolf, so she was going to have to stick by Stiles' side all evening.
Lexi had only just climbed out of her car in the schools parking lot, when Scott and Stiles came rushing up to her, the girl raising a brow in amusement as she felt that they were always rushing around together in a pain if; she had just about locked her door when Stiles spoke up. "Hey. Uh.. You don't happen to have two more tickets on you, do you?" He asked nervously, knowing that he had told her to get only one.
The girl furrowed her brows in confusion, "You told me to get one, for Scott." Lexi reminded him, giving him a pointed look.
Stiles cringed, "Yeah.. Change of plans, we have to go in, too." He said, as Lexi crossed her arms in annoyance, having asked the boy over and over again if one was the correct number of tickets she had to get.
Lexi shrugged, the girl knowing that even if she could afford it, there wasn't any way that she would be able to find any more tickets, as they were all sold out. "Stiles, they're all sold out. You should've told me before." Lexi said, not knowing how he expected her to magic up two more tickets after selling out.
"Well, he's an idiot. So he didn't." Scott said, knowing that Stiles probably didn't want to ask her for too much in case she grew annoyed with his request, but he knew that it was just his best friends overthinking. For two people who were seeing each other and for a while, now, they were both still very nervous around each other, still taking it slow with each other and it was cute for everyone around them to see.. Scott never thought he'd see someone with Stiles in high school, especially not Lexi Martin, but seeing how they were together, it was hard to not see them together anymore, since they were so suited for one another, and bickered like a married couple. "We have to think of another plan." The boy stated, Lexi now feeling bad that their plan might be ruined because she didn't buy three tickets instead of one.
"I mean.. I have the money for two more tickets, if you two can find people willing to sell theirs." Lexi suggested, glad that at least her fathers money brought them some good in this world. Normally, she wouldn't like using it, only doing so when she had to, but giving it to Stiles and Scott seemed like a good way to use it, too, and she would be more than happy to hand it over to them.
Before the boys could answer, Matt came walking up to them, with an almost annoyed look on his face as he looked at them all, "Hey, do any of you know why no one's getting suspended after what happened the other day at school?" He asked, not knowing why no one got in trouble after what happened during detention. Lexi hadn't even thought about Matt since the incident, since Erica had had a seizure and Jackson escaped, Matt was the literal last thing on any of their minds, and they had literally forgotten about him until now.
"Just forget about it. Nobody got hurt." Stiles said, not even bothering to be kind to the boy — Lexi knew that he didn't like Matt, since he constantly told everyone around him, and she understood why he didn't, but that didn't mean he was evil, he was just annoying, and even Lexi didn't like him that much.
"I had a concussion." Matt stated, shaking his head in disbelief.
"Well, nobody got seriously hurt." Stiles added, rolling his eyes at Matt's words, because his problem was the least of theirs..
"I was in the ER for six hours." Matt said, face full of disbelief.
"Hey, do you want to know the truth, Matt?" Stiles asked, growing more annoyed at Matt as the seconds went by, "Your little bump on the head is about this high on our list of problems right now." He said, crouching down to the ground to show him that none of them really cared about his concussion, even Lexi, who felt bad about it, but with the upcoming plan, she just couldn't help but agree with Stiles, even if he had said it in the wrong way.
"Sorry, Matt. Are you okay, now?" Lexi asked the boy, pushing Stiles back gently and giving him a 'really' look. She may not like the boy, but she didn't exactly want to be harsh to him, either.
"Yeah, I'm fine now." Matt said, looking at Stiles with a strange look before looking back at Lexi again, "Did you manage to get tickets last night? I saw you in the line." He asked, remembering a lock of ginger hair at the very front of the line, grabbing a ticket before Scott had even showed up, asking to borrow money.
Lexi nodded as Stiles rolled his eyes from behind her, not liking that Matt was talking directly to her, "Yeah, I managed to get one, I need two more, though. You know anyone?" She asked, knowing that Matt would probably know more about people selling their tickets online, since Stiles had told her the wrong amount.
Matt put two and two together, looking at Scott, "So you didn't get one last night, either?" He asked the boy, knowing that Scott couldn't have rounded up eighty dollars to get a ticket, he had to use the Martin girl. When Scott shook his head, he looked back at Lexi, "I got mine online, you should ask around, though. I'm sure some people are selling theirs. You should keep trying, it sounds like everyone's going to be there." He said, before eventually walking away from the trio, Stiles glaring at his back as he finally left them alone.
"I hate him." Stiles stated, as Lexi slapped him on the arm.
"Stop being mean." The girl told him, pulling her bag back up to her shoulder, "I'm gonna go and ask around for some tickets, let me know if you find anyone." Lexi told the two boys, leaning in to give Stiles a peck on the cheek, before smiling at him and walking towards the school, leaving Stiles blushing yet again, the girl always having that effect on him, Scott even smiled at the interaction, still not getting over how happy his best friend was. And just with one little interaction, the boy was stuttering on his words again.
Isaac had ended up getting Scott and Stiles the tickets for the rave, and Lexi had asked how he got them, but the boys neglected to tell her, meaning that they clearly didn't buy them, but either way, it meant that Lexi didn't have to worry about finding two more tickets for them anymore, which she had been asking around for even during lessons as well as their breaks, but overall, she was just glad they all had a ticket each, and Lydia hadn't even thought about going to the rave because it wasn't her scene, so she wouldn't see her sister there. After school, Lexi didn't waste any time in jumping in Stiles' jeep and heading towards the vets to talk to Deaton and find out exactly what the plan was for tonight, since they wanted to do everything in order to keep Jackson alive and keep Derek from killing him because it was the easier option. The last time Lexi came here, she was told that she was an Empath, the news changing her life completely, the small building bringing her that sense of change whenever she saw it from now on.
The girl stood besides Stiles as Deaton started going through the plan, after the girl had been told she was going to the rave merely to give callouts in case anyone got hurt, like the medic of the pack, even when she didn't want to be. Although, she didn't mind, because now, she didn't have to do any of the dirty work to get Jackson out of that place; when Deaton held up Ketamine, Lexi didn't know how to feel about it, especially since they were putting him to sleep like some kind of dog, but at the same time, it needed to be done. "If you can get close enough to Jackson, it should slow him down enough to buy you some time." Deaton explained, handing the Ketamine to Scott as he anxiously took it, "This is some of what you'll use to create a barrier. This part is for you two, Stiles and Lexi. Only you two." He carried on saying, the two teens in question glancing at each other in confusion, not knowing why the job was only for the two of them.
"That sounds like a lot of pressure." Stiles spoke up, Lexi nodding in agreement; not only did she now have the task at concentrating on everyone's wellbeing and if they were hurt, but now she had to help Stiles create this 'barrier', with that black powder she had no clue even was. "Lexi'll be good with that, can we find a slightly less pressure-filled task for me?" He went on to ask, knowing that he would for sure, mess something up because he was Stiles.
"It's from the mountain ash tree, which is believed by many cultures to protect against the supernatural. This office is lined with ash wood, making it difficult for someone like Scott to cause any trouble, or for someone like Lexi, to know what is happening to their pack outside of this building." Deaton explained, Lexi raising a brow as he had never told her that before; she gathered that what he was saying, was that the girl needed to be inside of the circle so she could concentrate on the others, and helping Stiles at the same time.
"Okay, so then what? We just spread this around the whole building and then either Jackson or whoever's controlling him can't cross it?" Stiles asked, trying to make sense of this whole thing.
"They'll be trapped." Deaton nodded, then looking towards Lexi, who was concentrating hard on what the man was saying to them all. "You're very different to people like Scott, or Jackson. You still have your powers inside of mountain ash, but you can't cross it, and if you're outside of the ring when Stiles finishes the barrier, you won't be able to feel what the rest of the pack are going through, which is why you have to be careful, making sure you're inside when Stiles' finishes the barrier." He explained, Lexi nodding slowly as she tried to remember everything he was saying. All she had to do was be inside of the barrier when Stiles finishes it.. It shouldn't be too hard.
"Doesn't sound too hard." Scott then spoke up, basically reading Lexi's mind.
But then Deaton revealed that Stiles had to believe the powder worked for it to actually work, meaning that he had to activate the barrier himself.. How could this plan go wrong?
——
Arriving at the rave was nerve-wracking, to say the least. Lexi knew that she had to have her full concentration on everyone inside of the building all night, which, when she thinks of it, is very difficult for her to do, especially when she didn't even know how to use her so called 'abilities', they just came to her in the worst moments possible - she just had to make sure that Stiles completed the barrier, and stay inside of it at all times.. The girl followed silently after Stiles as he made the mountain ash barrier, feeling all kinds of emotions and things inside of her body as the plan started up inside of the rave, knowing that they were all starting the plan and getting Jackson down so they could stop him; the girl grew dizzy, then stable, then a slight pain in her neck, indicating that they had injected Jackson with the Ketamine. "I think they've injected Jackson, I just felt a pinch in my neck, but it's very faded." Lexi told Stiles, as he turned to face her with a look of panic, as he hadn't finished the barrier, yet.
"I haven't finished the barrier, yet! What if he escapes?" Stiles asked, panic immediately setting in as he knew that he shouldn't have been placed with such a difficult task. He had told them all that he shouldn't be in charge of this, and he was right; the boy ran his free hand through his hair as he began stressing out, only having a handful of ash left and still fifty feet left to go.
"Hey." Lexi spoke up softly, taking Stiles' free hand in her own, "You can do this. Remember what Deaton said? You just have to believe." She said, as gunfire was heard in the background, the boy beginning to freak out even more than before, "Hey, listen. You can do this, I believe in you." The girl told him, holding his hand and giving it a comforting squeeze.
"I told Deaton that it was too much for me, I'm going to mess everything up.." Stiles began to explain, again, when he felt lips press up against his own, the boy calming down instantly as he felt Lexi's lips against his, closing his eyes and relaxing into her hold, the girl knowing that kissing him was the only way that she could get him to stop talking and focus.
When a few seconds passed, and the two teenagers were still kissing, they had almost forgotten what they were even out here doing, Stiles' free hand resting on her cheek as the kiss deepened, the two of them feeling like they were in their own little bubble, when Lexi finally pulled away, smiling up at Stiles as he looked flustered. "Imagine." He said, opening his hand slightly and allowing more ash to drop out, the two of them smiling when they realised it was working.
"Okay, focus." Lexi said, now following alongside Stiles as he continued making the barrier, incredibly proud that he was managing to do so, the girl jumping onto the other side just before it finally finished, the barrier being made as Lexi smiled over at him, laughing as he began jumping up and down in excitement of having done it, especially with the help from Lexi..
The girl didn't expect Stiles to leap over the barrier and pick her up, swinging round in circles as Lexi laughed and Stiles carried on cheering that they had done it. "I knew you could do it!" The girl cheered, as Stiles finally set her down on the ground, the girl smiling widely again when he looked down at her — this time, Stiles initiated the kiss, the kiss deepening even more this time as they both couldn't help themselves. Even if they didn't have a label on what they were, it didn't matter, because they both knew how they felt about each other, and that's all that mattered. "Come on, let's go see if the plan's working." The girl eventually said, when they both pulled away from the kiss and smiled yet again.
So, hand in hand, the two teenagers walked towards the back room where they had taken Jackson, Stiles opening up the door first with Lexi following closely behind, shutting the door behind them as they both saw a passed out Jackson on the chair in front of them both. "Is he okay?" Lexi asked, looking over at the boy nervously, still feeling sorry for him that he was in this situation.
"Well, let's find out." Isaac said, walking towards Jackson and flicking out his claws, going to slash into his skin, only for Jackson to grab his arm, eyes still closed, before bending it in a way it shouldn't, Isaac's bones cracking under pressure.
"Okay, no one does anything like that again, okay?" Stiles asked everyone, when Isaac grunted in pain and rushed back over to them all, Stiles slightly inching in front of Lexi as he glanced nervously at Jackson.
"I thought the Ketamine was supposed to put him out." Isaac stated, holding his arm in pain as it had clearly been broken.
When Jackson's eyes opened up, Lexi couldn't help but recoil in fright, gripping onto Stiles arm as they all backed away. "I'm here. I'm right here with you." Jackson said, his voice distorted as it clearly wasn't him talking to them, it was his master.. When Stiles inched forwards slightly and asked if it was Jackson, the boy spoke up again, "Us. We're all here." He answered, as Lexi began to feel a tightening in her chest, the girl knowing that something was wrong.
Lexi felt her vision blurring ever so slightly, something in her gut telling her that something was happening and that someone needed help, but she couldn't focus on who, or what was happening, she just knew. Whomever she was feeling right now, was in trouble, but she just couldn't pin point on who exactly it was, and it frustrated her to no end.. She couldn't focus on what Jackson and Stiles were talking about as she leaned against the wall besides her, but when she finally looked up, Jackson's eyes had turned orange, and he was clearly waking up, the boy eventually standing up and looking at them all like he wanted to rip their throats out. She felt Stiles hands push her out of the door, the girl holding onto him as they all rushed out, before Jackson burst out of the wall, running off in his full Kanima form. "Damn." Lexi muttered, watching him go. They all needed to split up, but Lexi couldn't help but pull Stiles to the side, "Stiles, somethings wrong." She mumbled.
"What is it? Are you okay?" Stiles instantly asked, panic spreading throughout as he held the girl upright, afraid that something had happened to her.
"Someone's hurt. They can't breathe." Lexi mumbled again, the effects fully taking over as she still couldn't focus on who exactly was hurt. "We need to find Derek, get him to help." She said, as Stiles nodded, taking the girls arm around his shoulder as they rushed round the back of the rave yet again. It all went by in a blur when the two teenagers finally found Derek, the man looking just as confused when he saw Lexi, helping her stand with Stiles. "Someone's hurt." The girl repeated to the alpha, Derek looking up with wide eyes as he tried to listen out for anything that could lead him to whom was hurt.
And that's when they heard it. The roar. "Scott.. Break the seal, Scott's dying!" Derek yelled, Stiles immediately pushing apart the barrier and watching Derek run off, Lexi leaning into his arms as they watched, praying that Scott will be okay..
