LEXI FELT AWFUL FOR keeping this huge secret from her twin sister, the two of them had always made it a rule that they weren't to keep things from each other, and Lexi had just broken that rule.. It's not like she meant to, it wasn't even her secret to spill, it was Scott and Stiles, and she practically pushed it out of them, wanting to know the truth. Ever since the DVD store, Lexi knew something was up, and Stiles had just confirmed that later on..
Lexi was headed to the toilets, to touch up on her makeup, when she saw Lydia rush in there, slamming open the door, causing multiple other students to flock away from the toilets, not wanting to upset the popular girl by any means. Instantly, she headed into the room, wanting to know why her sister was so angry all of a sudden.
She thought that it may have something to do with the fact Jackson had been all over Allison lately, but Lexi knew that it was just to get to Scott - but it didn't make it any better. "Lyds?" Lexi called softly, seeing that one of the stalls was locked, and she could hear some sniffling coming from it. "What's wrong?" She asked, waiting outside of the stall to hear what was wrong with her.
Lydia took a few seconds to answer, but once she knew that it was just herself and Lexi in the room, she spoke up. "Jackson broke up with me over text." Lydia said quietly, just loud enough that Lexi could partly hear what she said.
To say Lexi was surprised, was an understatement, Jackson loved the popularity that came along with Lydia, so much that she never thought he would dump her. As much as she thought that Jackson treated her sister horribly, she just never thought that he would actually break up with her.. Although, Lexi just couldn't believe he actually broke up with her, it just didn't seem like him.
"What a dick." Lexi spat, as Lydia sobbed again, "Lyds, you don't need him, there's plenty other hot guys on the team." She tried to convince the girl, not wanting her sister to be upset over some jackass who didn't deserve her.
"I don't want any hot guy on the team." Lydia cried, "I want him." She told her sister, not moving from her place on the toilet, trying her hardest not to ruin her makeup.
Lexi sighed sadly, "Let me in, Lyds." She told her sister, placing her hand on the locked toilet door.
"No." Lydia cried, not wanting anyone to see her this weak, not even her own sister. It was embarrassing.
Lexi huffed, taking a look around the toilets to ensure that no one else was here, before she decided to do something that she was sure she would forget. She crouched down, getting on her knees, before pushing her bag into Lydia's stall. "What are you doing?" Lydia asked, looking up at her sister, who was now rolling under the door, able to get under easily due to her body type. "Lexi! That's disgusting!" Lydia then complained, before Lexi stood up, brushing herself off, now in the toilet stall with Lydia.
Lexi gave her sister a look, "You weren't going to open the door for me." She reasoned, making sure to immensely brush herself off as she knew this floor was filthy, but, she would do it again if it meant comforting her sister.
It didn't take Lydia long, but she eventually cracked a smile at her sister, giggling at what she had just done. "You're such an idiot." Lydia laughed, before her smile dropped, and she began crying again, tears streaming down her face.
Lexi smiled sadly at her sister, before crouching down in front of her, "You don't need that jackass. He was an ass to you, anyway." She told Lydia, trying to make the girl realise that Jackson was a terrible boyfriend, and always has been. In face, Jackson was just a terrible person in general - he was only nice when it benefitted him, or when he felt like it, but other than that, he was horrible to mostly everyone.
This made Lydia feel slightly better, but not enough. She looked down, not wanting to look at her sister as she cried, but Lexi didn't care about that. She wrapped her arms around Lydia, holding her close as the girl cried - she hated this, she hated the fact that her sister was so upset, and she wanted to kill Jackson for it.. Lexi never wanted to see Lydia like this again..
——
Lexi had driven Lydia home straight after school, the two girls having a plan to do each other's nails for the night and have some snacks, but not long after she had painted her nails, she received a text from Stiles claiming that he needed her round his as soon as possible, as Danny was meant to be coming round, and he needed her help convincing him to track the texts from the night at the school.
Lexi didn't want to leave Lydia alone, but Lydia had practically told her to go when she informed the girl that Stiles needed her. At first, Lydia hated the fact that Lexi even spoke to that loser, but when she had realised that the boy made his sister genuinely happy, she gathered that it didn't matter about popularity. For Lexi, that is.
Lydia had dropped Lexi off at Stiles, which surprised the girl, as she didn't think that Lydia even tolerated him. But she didn't question it as she grabbed her bag and headed into his home, thanking Lydia before hand. Stiles had informed her that his father wasn't home, and the front door was unlocked for her, so she just waltzed in, knowing her way to his room already, as she had been here multiple times now.
She opened his door without knocking, and smiled when she saw Stiles sat at his computer, Stiles had noticed her walk in, and stood up to greet her at the door. "Hey." Lexi greeted, a smile on her face, as she went to lean in..
Stiles instantly leaned back, knowing who was in the room with them, and as he coughed, he gained her attention, and she opened her eyes to see Stiles pointing to her left. Lexi looked over, seeing an older dude sat on his bed, raising an eyebrow at the two of them. Lexi instantly leaned away from Stiles, tucking her hair behind her ear in awkwardness.
"That's Derek Hale." Stiles told her, trying to push aside that she had gone to kiss him. He couldn't believe that this girl still liked him, he couldn't understand why - she had so many options at school, as mostly every boy in their school wanted to date her. The fact that she had eyes for him, just shocked him to the core.
Lexi's eyes bulged out of her sockets, "The Derek Hale?" She couldn't help but ask, having heard a lot about the man from Stiles and Scott - "Isn't he a fugitive?" She whispered, so that Derek couldn't hear her.
"I can hear you." Derek answered, unamused and looking like Stiles' room was the last place he wanted to be.
"Oh." Was all Lexi could say, glancing over at the man awkwardly. She didn't exactly know what to say after Derek spoke, she felt incredibly awkward that she had tried to kiss Stiles in front of the man, but not only that.. He pulled away. She was dying from embarrassment, and at this point, was wishing she had never even come in the first place.
"Danny is the only person I can think of, who can trace the texts to Allison from the other week." He told Lexi, as she walked over to his desk and took a seat.
She nodded at him, "'Cause of his previous records?" Lexi asked, knowing that it was pretty smart of Stiles to think of Danny, first.
Stiles nodded. "We have a lab project, so this is the best time to ask, right?" He asked Lexi, who nodded at his question. "And he likes you, not me, so he won't be annoyed when I ask him to trace the call, if you're here." He told Lexi, explaining why he had wanted her here in the first place.
Lexi rolled her eyes, "It's not like he doesn't like you. You just annoy him." She told Stiles, not knowing why he thought that Danny hated him.
Derek snorted in the background as he tried not to laugh at the fact that Danny thought Stiles was annoying. It meant that he wasn't the only one..
Stiles glared at Derek before looking back at Lexi, "And that's why you're here." He told her, before his phone had gone off, indicating that Danny was here. "One minute." He told the two remanding people, before rushing out of the room and down the stairs.
Lexi's eyes widened that he had just left her in the same room as Derek Hale, alone, after everything she had heard about the man, he scared her. And if he could hear her whisper to Stiles, he could definitely hear her raising heartbeat at how scared she was. It was embarrassing, to say the least - this whole ten minutes had been embarrassing.
Luckily, Stiles and Danny had come back into his room in no time, with Danny smiling in surprise that Lexi was here. "What are you doing here?" He asked as he smiled at her.
Lexi shrugged, "Stiles said you two needed help. So.." She trailed off, looking around her, "Here I am." She said, smiling up at Danny, who glanced over at Stiles in offence.
She sighed, this was going to be a long day..
"You want me to do what?" Danny asked, looking down at Stiles like he was the most stupid person on the planet. Lexi sat on his bed with a random comic as she tried to pretend that she wasn't listening into what they were saying. "Did you know about this?" Danny then asked Lexi, who peeked over her comic and shrugged at him.
"Just trace a text." Stiles recalled.
"I came here to do lab work. That's what lab partners do." Danny told Stiles, annoyed that he was asking him to do that.
"And we will.." Stiles told Danny, as Lexi rolled her eyes, knowing he meant that she will, "Once you trace the text." He said, just wanting the boy to trace the text so they can find out who text Allison that night.. This was the key to finding out who the alpha was.
"And what makes you think I know how?" Danny retorted.
"I looked up your arrest report, so..." Stiles told Danny, sheepishly. Lexi sighed at Danny's facial expression, the boy clearly wasn't happy that Stiles had looked up his personal report, in fact, he looked pretty angry.
"I.. I was thirteen." Danny tried to defend his actions, now embarrassed, "They dropped the charges." He said.
"Whatever." Stiles mumbled.
"No. We're doing lab work." Danny told Stiles, not wanting to trace any texts, not again, he was not about to get arrested again.. Stiles huffed in annoyance, sending Lexi a panicked look, silently asking her what she should do, and she simply shrugged, she wasn't that close with Danny - he was more Jackson's friend than hers..
"Who's he again?" Danny asked after he sat down, pointing at Derek, who had also grabbed a random book to pretend to read in the corner of the room.
"That's his cousin." Lexi answered quickly, knowing that Stiles would come up with something ridiculous.
"Miguel." Stiles added, causing Lexi to mentally face palm, knowing that he did not need to add that in. Derek didn't look like a Miguel, and she knew that Danny saw it, too.
Lexi saw Derek look up at Stiles from the corner of her eye, the man looking equally as annoyed at she was.
"Is that blood on his shirt?" Danny asked, something that Stiles and Lexi hadn't noticed until now. Levi's eyes widened as she looked over at Derek fully for the first time since entering the room - there it was, scatters of blood on the bottom of his shirt. Damn. She thought. What had he been doing?
"Yeah. Yes. Well, he, uh, he gets these horrible nosebleeds." Stiles told Danny, "Hey, Miguel!" He then called, causing Derek to slowly look up at him, and Lexi could tell that he was trying so hard not to growl at him. "I thought I told you you could borrow one of my shirts?" He asked, before motioning his head to his chest of drawers which held his clothes in.
Derek slammed his book shut in annoyance, and Lexi couldn't help but watch in amusement as Derek got up with a huff and began searching through Stiles' draws, not finding anything that could fit him, as they were all too small.
But, after all of that time of Derek standing topless, Danny finally agreed to trace the text..
"I told Lydia I would be at the game tonight." Lexi complained, as she got into the car after Derek had climbed into the backseat. After finding out that the text had come from Melissa, Scott's mom, the three of them, more like Stiles and Derek, had decided to go to the Beacon Hills Hospital to find out more..
"She'll survive." Stiles told her, as they drove to the hospital in silence, Lexi annoyed she had been dragged along, and Derek just annoyed at Stiles for making him change shirts back at his house.
The two teenagers had to go into the hospital and find out if it actually was Melissa, or find out who else could have done it from her phone, but as Lexi got out of the car, she heard a thump from inside of the car, and when she looked back, she saw Stiles wincing in pain as he held the side of his head, yelling in pain and annoyance at Derek.
Stiles climbed out of the car and pulled Lexi along with him to the hospital entrance, all while he clutched his head in pain. "Are you okay?" Lexi asked, having to hold in her laughter as seeing Stiles in pain made her laugh, due to his reaction.
"Are you laughing at me?" Stiles asked in offence, having heart the girl snort under her breath.
Lexi shook her head at him, "Nope. Not laughing. No." She told Stiles, biting her lip as she tried to keep her grin down. Stiles couldn't even be mad at her for laughing, as he was just mesmerised by her lips as she bit down on them.
The two walked into the hospital to find that it was completely empty, looking like a complete ghost town, which made a shiver go down Lexi's spine. "This is creepy." She voiced out, grabbing Stiles's arm as they walked forwards.
Stiles nodded in agreement, pulling out his phone and dialling Derek's number to let him know that they couldn't find anything here. "Yeah, I said I can't find her." He told Derek, as the older man tried to explain what they were looking for again.
"Ask for Jennifer." Stiles told Lexi after Derek had told him to, pointing at the room Derek said the man was in..
Lexi nodded at his command, heading for the room in which he had pointed to, only to find it empty. "Uh, Stiles. It's empty." She told the boy, looking back at him as he rushed over to get a look at the room.
"Derek. He's not here." Stiles told Derek, who was still on the phone. This time, Stiles was gripping onto Lexi, so if they had to make a quick getaway, he wouldn't loose her. "He's not here. He's gone." He repeated, when Derek had asked him to repeat himself.
Lexi froze when she heard Derek shout on the other line, shouting at Stiles that he and Lexi needed to get out of there, and that Peter was the alpha. "Oh my god." Lexi gasped, pulling Stiles out of the room and into the hallway, only, before they could even run away, the alpha stood there, scars on the side of his face, grinning at the two teenagers.
"You must be Stiles and Lexi." Peter spoke calmly, as if he couldn't hear the two teenagers' heart beats from fear at the sight of him.
Lexi gulped, as Stiles pushed the girl behind him, making sure that if Peter were to strike, that she would be safe. "Go, Lex." Stiles whispered, before the two teenagers turned around to make a run for it, only to find the nurse, Jennifer, stopping them from going anywhere..
"What are you doing here?" She asked the two teens, "Visiting hours are over." She threatened.
Stiles gripped onto Lexi as the two looked back and fourth in panic, knowing that this is probably going to be how they die. At least they're together. Lexi thought.
Stiles couldn't form a full sentence as he put the pieces together, that Peter was the alpha, and Jennifer had been helping him along the way. Which is how the text was sent in the first place.. "Oh my god.. We're gonna die." Stiles all but cried.
Derek came to the rescue, much to Lexi's surprise, and Jennifer was sent to the floor, knocked out. "That's not nice." Peter told his nephew, "She's my nurse." He told Derek, all while Lexi and Stiles basically had a panic attack between the two of them.
"She's a psychotic bitch helping you kill people." Derek snapped, before turning to the two teenagers who stood in fear at what was happening. "Get out of the way." He ordered.
Lexi didn't need to be told twice, she instantly grabbed Stiles' hand and the two ran past Derek, taking cover behind the desk up the hall, not wanting to get in the middle of their fight.
The whole fight had been terrifying to watch - it made Lexi realise that this was all real; too real.
Lexi just hoped that Derek could stop Peter..
