( 𝟎𝟏𝟒 ) scott's strange behaviour

'lunatic'

AFTER BEING TRAPPED AT the school, Lexi didn't think that she ever wanted to go back into that building. She and her friends could have died that night, and the cops wouldn't have been able to do anything about it, because the thing that tried to kill them wasn't even human.
Lexi felt like she was in some fantasy tv show that had no end, it was like more and more things seemed to be coming up around every corner.
The only thing that was good that came out of that whole night, was the fact that Lexi shared a kiss with Stiles, and she couldn't stop thinking about it, it was plaguing her mind.

Obviously she hadn't told her sister, knowing what her reaction would be, so she kept it to herself - there was no doubt that Stiles had told Scott, so the secret was bound to come out soon - not that Lexi was trying to keep it a secret, she just didn't want her sister finding out, knowing just how she would react to the whole thing.
Stiles wasn't popular, and while Lexi didn't care one bit, Lydia thought that the two girls should be dating and talking to popular boys that were on the Lacrosse Team, and actually played instead of sitting on the bench.. Again, Lexi didn't care about that.. But her sister did. She didn't want to have to sit through endless lectures about how popularity meant everything.

No one at school even knew who had been trapped in the school a few nights before, as Lexi and her friends names had been protected by the cops, who hadn't released anything to do with their names or what had happened that night. So, to Lexi, it felt strange entering the school after a few days off, where no one was pointing fingers claiming that she was amongst the group who were trapped in the school. Of course, people still have arched her, as it came with the popularity of being a Martin - but what was being said about her wasn't anything bad.

The first few lessons had gone by like a breeze, and Lexi couldn't help but shake the hate that she knew all of these things about werewolves and the fact that Scott McCall was one, but she couldn't say anything about it. She wasn't going to betray Stiles like that, not after he confided in her.
Lexi wouldn't even bother telling her family - it would just gain her a ticket to Eiken house and there was no way she wanted to go there. Who would actually believe her that there was werewolves running around Beacon Hills? No one.

When the first bell had sounded, Lydia and Lexi walked besides Allison as she rambled on about how strange it was that everyone was talking about the night that they were trapped in the school, without knowing it was them.
"It's just weird. Everybody's talking about what happened the other night, and nobody knows it was us." Allison spoke, causing Lexi to nod at her statement.. It was weird. It felt surreal, like she was in some sort of dream she couldn't wake up from.

"Thankyou for the protection of minors." Lydia scoffed, grateful that no one knew she and her sister were there that night, or it would definitely put a dent in their popularity.

When Allison started going on about making the wrong choice by dumping Scott, Lexi couldn't help but roll her eyes slightly, as there were bigger things to be worrying about, rather then wether she made the right choice with breaking up with her boyfriend. She didn't even know why Allison had done so - Lexi personally didn't think that Scott did anything wrong that night, but then again, she was the only one who knew the truth about him and Stiles.
Speaking of Stiles, she hadn't even seen him for the whole day, so she easily slipped out from Lydia and Allison's conversation, neither of the girls realising she had even gone, before Lexi was at the other end of the corridor, now on a search for Stiles. They needed to talk about a few things, and she wasn't going to take no for an answer.

It didn't take the Martin girl long to find Stiles, when she saw him sitting down outside of the principles office on the floor with his bag hugged against his chest. Without thinking twice, she joined him on the floor besides him, ignoring the fact that she was wearing a skirt and it was unbelievably uncomfortable. "Hey." Lexi greeted, making Stiles jump slightly, something she did often, that she found funny. "What're you doing?" She asked, unsure of why he was on the floor outside of the principals office.

Stiles smiled at her, having remembered her kissing him and the fact she hadn't regretted it. "Hey." He greeted, seeming to get lost in her eyes before he shook his head, bringing him back to reality, realising why he was sat on the floor. "I'm listening into my dad talking to the principal and some other officers. We need to find out if they've found Derek, yet." He explained, now not holding back anything as she knew everything about Scott, Derek and the alpha.

Lexi nodded her head, trying to take all of the information in, "Derek, the one who Scott blamed for murder?" She asked, recalling that Scott was the main reason as to why there was a man hunt for the man who was apparently innocent, only, the cops didn't know that. Only Scott, Stiles and Lexi did.. Stiles nodded, "Right.." She then trailed off, trying to piece that all together.
She had to remember that Derek wasn't the bad guy here, or was he? The only person she had to look out for was the alpha who was killing everyone, and she never even thought that she would be thinking that in her entire life. How her life had changed so drastically in just a few days, shocked the girl, she wondered how Stiles was doing it, or Scott for that matter.

"So how've you been?" Stiles eventually asked her, after a few seconds of silence, "You know.. Since the other night?"  He asked, watching as she frowned at the memory of the terrible night in the school.

"I mean.. Not great, but okay, since we're not dead." Lexi told him truthfully. She still had nightmares about what happened, as she thought about it nearly every minute of the day, but she knew that it could be much worse, and that she could be a dead body in a morgue at this point.
"What about you?" She then asked him, now facing him, catching him in the act of staring at her lips, remembering the kiss they shared after the incident. It hadn't left his mind since it happened, and he hadn't shut up about it to Scott, either.

Stiles hadn't spoken to Lexi since the kiss, since her mom had kept her in the house since the whole incident and taken her phone away for some time, and he didn't know if she regretted her decision to kiss him. It wouldn't surprise him if she did, after all, she was the Lexi Martin.
"I'm good." Stiles told her, having looked away from her lips the second she saw him staring, missing the smirk on her face when she did see it. "I'm just worried about my dad." He admitted.

Lexi nodded in understanding, "He's the sheriff. I would be too." She told him. She had always wondered what it would be like to have a father that actually cared for you, but she knew she would never get that. Stiles smiled that she understood his worry for his dad, which Scott didn't understand, or Jackson the other night. He would never forgive himself if something happened to him.
"About the other night.." She began to say, only for Stiles to interrupt her, knowing what she was going to say. He had practically gotten used to the fact that no one would ever like him in the way he liked her, and he was okay with that.. Hs guessed.

"You regret what happened, I know." Stiles said, looking down to the ground in sadness, "Don't worry about it, really." He said.

Lexi furrowed her eyebrows down in confusion, not knowing how he had come to that conclusion, "What do you mean?" She asked, chuckling, "I don't regret it." She said.

Stiles looked up at her in complete shock, not expecting those words to come out of her mouth, "You don't?" He couldn't help but ask, unsure at how and didn't regret kissing him. He really thought she did - it's why he didn't attempt any harder than he already was to get in contact with her, he was afraid of the outcome.

Lexi smiled, "Of course I don't." She laughed, having seen his shocked face, "I actually came to ask.." She began, only, she didn't get to continue her question, as the principals office had suddenly opened, alerting the two teens, with Stiles realising why he was even here in the first place.

Stiles sprung to his feet, holding his hand out to help Lexi up, to which she accepted, causing the two teenagers to now stand up before Stiles' dad.
"We've been watching his family's house. He could wind up there." His dad said as he and his colleagues came out of the office after having a meeting, only, he paused once he saw his son standing watch a few feet away with Lexi Martin.
He sighed, turning back to his colleagues and the principal, "Give me a second, please." He told them, before eventually walking up to his son and his crush, who were waiting expectantly for him, obviously waiting for some information on Derek.

It was when the bell went off, did Lexi realised that she had to get to class, so she turned to Stiles with a forced smile, knowing she had to leave him to it. "I gotta get to class." She told him, pointing in the opposite direction.
Stiles was disappointed to say the least, that Lexi hadn't been able to say what she wanted to, but nodded none the less. "I'll see you later?" She asked.
He nodded again, not sure how to say goodbye to her. Instead of even giving her a small hug, he just waved awkwardly, causing Lexi to laugh slightly, also feeling awkward. "Okay." She said, biting her lip, "Bye." She said.

Stiles sighed in annoyance when he realised he had messed that up big time. He watched her go with a sour look on his face - why did he have to be so awkward?

Lexi wasn't paying attention to her surroundings as she stood by her locker, packing up her books and bringing the ones back out that she needed for class, when Scott came up behind her, making her jump out her skin. "Jesus, Scott, you scared me!" She laughed, placing a hand over her erratic beating heart at the fright she had just received.

"Sorry." Scott said, looking apologetic that he had made Lexi jump. He knew that Stiles had told her everything about the werewolves and what is going on, so he couldn't even imagine what she was going through. "Can we talk for a second?" He asked.

This instantly worried Lexi, she was scared that he would be annoyed at the fact she knew about him, what if he didn't agree with the fact that Stiles had told her? Will he get Stiles to stop talking to her? The thoughts just ran through her mind. "Sure." She squeaked out, kind of fearing what he had to say to her - unknown that Stiles was the one to send him over to find out if she did like him.

Lexi followed behind Scott as he led her into an empty office, completely missing Stiles who was watching go in from afar. "Just, I needed to ask you something." Scott told her the second the office door had shut and the two of them had their privacy.

"If this is about you know what.." She began, "I'm not going to tell anyone, I promised Stiles that I would keep it to myself and I intent to keep that promise." Lexi explained, as Scott just nodded along, knowing that he wasn't going to ask her about that. He knew that she wasn't going to tell anyone his secret, if Stiles could trust her, then he could trust her.

"That's not what I was going to say." Scott told her, "I was just wondering.. Do you.." He trailed off, as another idea came into his mind, completely forgetting that Stiles had been the one to ask him to find out if Lexi liked him like that or not. "Do you know if Allison still likes me?" He eventually asked her, throwing his plan out of the window, forgetting about what Stiles wanted.

Lexi smiled at his question, knowing that Scott and Allison really liked each other but they had a hard time showing it. "Of course she still likes you. That's a stupid question." She said.

"Really?" Scott asked, smiling slightly at her answer.

"She'll always like you, Scott. Even if she may not show it, but since she first joined the school, the moment she laid eyes on you, she had a thing for you." She explained, as she fully turned to face Scott, "She may not know that you locked us in that classroom to protect us, but her feelings for you will never change. I know that if she knew why you locked us in there, that she would be grateful." She explained, not knowing what her words were doing to Scott on this full moon - the fact she was showing more appreciation for him than Allison ever had..

"Are you grateful?" He asked, his behaviour suddenly shifting, alerting Lexi, but she wouldn't let it show. Maybe he just felt unwell..

"Yeah, of course I am." Lexi told him, unsure of why he would even ask her that question.
When Scott began walking towards her with a strange look on his face, she squinted her eyes in confusion, wondering what the hell he was doing, "Are you okay? What're you doing?" She asked him, but it seemed that her words weren't getting through to him, as he kept approaching her.
It was a few sad cones later, did she finally realise what he intended to do. He wanted to kiss her. Her eyes widened in surprise that he would do that to Stiles, before slapping him hard across the face, smacking him out of whatever trace he was in. "What the hell is wrong with you?" She snapped, instantly shoving past him to grab her bag.

"I'm sorry.. I didn't.." He stuttered, unsure of what just came over him. He tried to kiss Martin, the girl that his best friend had loved since he could remember.. He couldn't believe it.

"Just because I'm grateful for you saving my life, doesn't mean that I want to kiss you, you pig." She ranted, red faced in anger, annoyed that he would even think to do that to Allison. He had literally been asking about her just a few seconds before, then he tried to kiss her, it wasn't on, one bit. When she tried to move past him to leave the office, he tried to stop her to apologise for what he did and explain why he was acting so strange, when she shoved him away from her, "Don't touch me." Lexi snapped, before finally being able to leave the office, leaving a shocked Scott behind on his own, wondering what the hell just happened.

Lexi couldn't even believe it herself - the fact that Scott, her best friends boyfriend, had just tried to kiss her. Even if they were broken up at the moment, that was no excuse for what he did - you should never go for your ex-girlfriends best friend, and that's a known fact. She was so mad at him.
Is Stiles going to think that Lexi wanted him to kiss her? Is this going to ruin their friendship, or whatever was going on with them? She didn't even know, and she hoped it wouldn't. It terrified her, the thought that Stiles might not talk to her again, and she just wished that Scott would never talk about that moment again..

Little did she know, Scott was going to use this against Stiles later on that night..
