( 𝟎𝟎𝟔 ) the bloody bus
'pack mentality'
⋅•⋅⊰∙∘☽༓☾∘∙⊱⋅•⋅
ANOTHER DAY OF SCHOOL came along, and Lexi just wanted to get the day over and done with, and go home. The second she walked onto the school grounds, there were cops surrounding a school bus, which looked as if it had somebody murdered inside - and that terrified Lexi.
It seemed like lately, everything was happening all at once, and the quiet town of Beacon Hills, wasn't quiet anymore.
She was walking down the hallway, minding her own business, when she saw Scott by Jackson's locker, looking as if he was having a complete meltdown - she was about to go and check if he was alright, only to witness something crazy.
He punched the locker, creating a huge dent in the door, practically breaking it. Lexi paused in her footsteps and looked at the scene with wide eyes.
How the hell did he do that?
Lexi watched as he practically ran around the corner and out of sight, and she was still stood in shock at what she had just seen; no one else seemed to have seen but her, which shocked her, as it was incredibly loud.
Someone came up behind her, making her jump out of her skin and slightly screech, not expecting someone to be so close to her.
"S-Sorry." Stiles stuttered, backing up with his hands raised in surrender, watching as Lexi held her chest, taking deep breaths. "Are you okay?" He asked, concerned at how she was acting.
Lexi nodded, feeling quite breathless, "Yeah." She breathed.
"Is everything okay with your friend?" She then asked him, causing his eyebrows to furrow and panic to slightly rise in the small Stilinski boy.
"Yeah, I mean he's gr-great." He implied, scratching the back of his head in awkwardness, he didn't understand how she could know about the bus last night. "Why?"
Lexi motioned to Jackson's locker behind her, "Uhh. He did that." She said, still shocked at how someone as small as Scott could smash a locker like that.
"What is he, on steroids or something? How did he manage to do something like that?" She carried on, looking towards Stiles for answers.
It was strange that he had suddenly become good at lacrosse, as she had never even seen him on the field until this season - what if Jackson was right, and he was on some sort of drug?
She didn't want to believe it, but the evidence was stacking up against the boy; she just hoped that he was okay.
Stiles didn't know what to say, he knew that Scott was panicking about Allison maybe being slaughtered, but he didn't expect him to completely destroy Jackson's locker..
"Um, yeah, he's fine." Stiles trailed off, not knowing what to tell her.
He hated to lie to her, but he couldn't exactly tell her the truth, either. As the bell rang, Stiles silently thanked the lord.
Lexi shook the thoughts from her head, and linked Stiles, surprising the boy, "Walk me to class?" She asked him with a sweet smile.
Stiles' mouth was wide open as he nodded at her, frantically taking her arm and walking down the hallway, not believing that he was this close to his crush.
The rest of the school seemed to think the same thing, as they all looked at the interaction with wide eyes, not believing what they were seeing.. The Lexi Martin with Stiles Stilinski, it was something that no one expected to see on an early morning.
Lexi was chewing her gum mindlessly as she doodled in her notepad, not listening to anything that the teacher was saying; she was fiddling with a strand of her hair, until she heard the seat next to her move, and someone sat down.
She was about to glare at whoever had sat down, as she preferred to be alone in lessons, to help her concentrate, but when she saw Stiles, the glare disappeared and she smiled up at him.
If she was going to suffer with anyone next to her, it would be her new friend, Stiles.
"What brings you here?" She asked.
Stiles had never sat next to her in any lesson before, so when he was this close to Lexi, he couldn't think straight, and the fact that her Coco Chanel perfume was irradiating off of her body and sending vibrations through Stiles's own body, he couldn't think of a response.
Instead, he sat and stared at the beauty that was Lexi Martin, and he mind drew a blank, all he could think in this moment, was how beautiful she looked today, just like every other day.
When the teacher called his name, he didn't hear it, causing Lexi to nudge him slightly, confused at why he was staring at her.
"Did I move you into the wrong place Mr. Stilinski?" He asked, narrowing his eyes at the boy.
Stiles shook his head frantically, finally moving his eyes away from Lexi for a moment, "Then stop staring at Miss Martin!" He ordered, gaining snickers from the rest of the class.
Lexi felt bad for the hot as his face lit up a bright red and he looked down at his book in attempts to hide his face. She smiled at the action and began her doodling once more, only to hear Jackson snickering from the side of her.
She rolled her eyes at him and focused on her book once more, only to hear an announcement from one of the students, the girl who was sat next to Scott.
"Hey, I think they found something!" She shouted, as she got up and practically sprinted to the window.
Stiles and Lexi got up to follow, as the whole class stood at the window in order to look out at the bus and see what all of the commotion was about.
Lexi stood in between Jackson and Stiles as she watched the paramedics roll a man to the ambulance, only, when they were about to place him inside, he sprung up, yelling out as loudly as he could.
Lexi had never been more scared in her life, she instantly jumped back at the sudden movement, and went crashing into Stiles, accidentally wacking him on the forehead with the back of her head.
Stiles groaned and placed a hand on his forehead, as Lexi grabbed her own, before she turned around and grabbed his arm, "I'm so sorry!" She apologised, replacing her hand on his forehead instead of his the second he moved his own, "Are you okay?"
Again, he couldn't utter a single word, instead, a bunch of slurs came out, and Lexi couldn't tell if she had given him a concussion or not.
Scott noticed this and rolled his eyes, "He's okay." He spoke, patting Stiles on the chest to get him back to Earth, "Aren't you, Stiles?"
Stiles nodded, his mouth wide open once more at the fact that Lexi was touching him.. Meaning, her skin, was touching his. He couldn't believe it, he had only dreamt about this since kindergarten..
Jackson intervened by pulling Lexi away from the two weirdos, he hated the fact that she had begun talking to the two of them as they were losers.. That, and he hated them.
He was going to do everything he could to stop Lexi and Stiles from talking..
_____
It was now lunch, and Lexi was following behind Lydia to sit at a table.. It shocked her to see Lydia walk towards the table that Scott and Stiles were sitting at, but she said nothing as she sat next to Stiles, giving him a bright smile.
"Figure what out?" Lydia asked the two as she sat down, she had obviously heard what they were talking about before she came over.
"Just, uh.. Homework." Scott replied, and Lexi could tell he was straight up lying, but Lydia didn't seem to care, as she smiled at their response.
She heard Stiles mumble to Scott something along the lines of why they were sitting with them, but Scott didn't have the answer, and neither did Lexi, for that matter.
As the rest of her friends sat down, she smiled at Allison as she took the seat opposite Lexi, and Stiles then showed his goofy smile to Lexi, to which she also smiled in response.
He was really growing on her..
Danny sat on the opposite side of Stiles, and it didn't take an expert to see that he didn't like Stiles. He simply looked at him weirdly as Stiles picked up his apple with a bright smile, but it faded as Danny shook his head and looked away.
Lexi chuckled at the sight, and began to dig into her food, as Jackson finally arrived.
"Get up." He told the boy who sat at the head of the table, he didn't even bother saying 'hello', as he glared down at the guy.
"How come you never ask Danny to get up?" He replied, looking up at Jackson in frustration.
"Because I don't stare at his girlfriends and her sisters coin slots." Danny replied, as Jackson pushed the boy out of the seat.
Lexi gave him a wink as he walked away, finding it quite funny as Danny had outed him with his stares.
She had been finding it quite annoying, but she would never say anything as she was just too nice.
"So, I hear they're saying it's some type of animal attack:" Danny then carried on, as everyone was seated.
"I heard it was a cougar." Lexi then pointed out, after hearing some rumours in her morning classes.
"I heard mountain lion." Jackson then spoke, causing Lexi to roll her eyes at the guy.
"A cougar is a mountain lion." Lexi and Lydia both stated, sounding exactly the same.
When the table gave the girls weird looks, Lydia shrugged, "Isn't it?" She then asked, acting dumb.
Lexi shook her head at her twin, she hated when she played dumb - if no one could accept her for herself, then why should she be hanging out with them?
Stiles on the other hand, couldn't stop staring at Lexi, he was in shock that she didn't cover up like Lydia did, and that made him love her even more.
He didn't know he could love someone as much as he loved Lexi Martin.
"Who cares? The guy's probably some homeless tweaker who's gonna die anyway." Jackson scoffed.
"Careful Jackson." Lexi spoke, pointing to Jackson with her apple, who raised his eyebrow at her, "Your asshole side is showing."
Jackson faked a laugh mockingly at her, as she laughed at him. She was getting along better with Jackson lately, but he still annoyed her at times, and she still thought that Lydia could do much better than him.
"Actually, I just found out who it is. Check it out." Stiles pointed out, as he got up the video on his phone.
He held it out in the middle of the table, causing Lexi to lean into him, and for Stiles breath to hitch in his throat; he still wasn't used to the closeness that she was to him, and he didn't think that he would ever get used to it.
Lydia saw as Stiles watched Lexi the whole time instead of his phone at the video, and needless to say, she didn't like it one bit. She wanted Lexi with someone on the lacrosse team who actually played, instead of never being on the field and sitting on the bench.
She was just scared that her popularity would be brought down because of it.
Lydia and Jackson exchanged a knowing look, one that said that they couldn't allow the two to happen, they both knew that Lexi could do much better than Stiles.
Hell, Stiles knew that himself - he just didn't understand why she was suddenly showing interest in him, but he knew one thing, he didn't want it to stop..
When Scott announced that he knew the guy, Lexi furrowed her brows at him and sat up, listening as he explained how the guy used to drive the bus to school when he lived with his dad.
"Can we talk about something slightly more fun, please?" Lydia then asked, "Like.. Oh, where are we going tomorrow night?"
She looked towards Allison for an answer, who looked at the girl with confusion, "You said you and Scott were hanging out tomorrow night, right?"
Lexi raised an eyebrow towards Allison knowing that she was lying - she knew that the girl didn't want to hang out with Lydia twenty-four/seven, but she didn't appreciate her lying to her sister.
"Uh, we were thinking of what we were gonna do." Allison answered.
"Well, I am not sitting home again watching lacrosse videos." Lydia scoffed, earning a look from Jackson, "So if the four of us are hanging out, we are doing something fun."
Lexi thought she had made it through the clear without being dragged along, until Lydia looked at her twin, "And we will obviously have to find someone for Lex to bring."
Lexi coughed slightly on her drink, "Uh, what?" She asked.
"You're coming with us, obviously." Lydia answered, rolling her eyes.
Lexis eyes widened, and she couldn't help but allow the words from stumbling out of her mouth like word vomit, "Actually, me and Stiles have a lab project we need to complete, right, Stiles?" She asked him, looking towards him with a pleading look.
Stiles nodded frantically, noticing the girls look, "Yeah.. Extra credit and all.." He trailed off, shrinking back from the glare of Lydia.
Lydia rolled her eyes, "Fine, be boring." She snapped, before going back to planning with the others.
Lexi looked up at Stiles shyly, and mouthed a 'thankyou' to which he nodded at.
She owed him big time..
