"The nights were mainly made for saying things that you can't say tomorrow day."
Y/N POV:
I was freezing in my cotton hoodie as the cold wind pierced right through it. The address Jimin had given me was that of an abandoned supermarket in the middle of the most criminal neighborhood of Seoul.
As I was waiting in the cold and desolate parking lot I was starting to wonder whether Park Jimin had brought me here because he wanted me to catch a cold or he was planning to murder me.
There certainly wouldn't be any witnesses here, I was sure of that.
I was already picturing random citizens discovering my body in the ditches when the familiar black Porsche Cayenne turned up around the corner and pulled up right in front of me.
"I told you you'd see me soon." Park Jimin smirked as he rolled down the windows. He was wearing once again his trademark black glasses even though it was supposed to rain outside and the sky was covered by dark clouds.
He looked so mesmerizing that I had to remind myself again why I was mad at him.
"You're clairevoyant now?" I mocked him as I got inside the car and he smiled widely right away. Compared to Taehyung, Jimin was smiling way more often.
"Look at you, you're freezing!" He exclaimed as he touched my cold and stiff fingers.
"Well, yeah, you made me wait for you for, like, only twenty minutes." I mumbled slightly annoyed at his odd concern. What, was he concerned for my well-being now?
"Sorry, the recording ran late." Jimin replied, eyes glistening with sincerity. "Here, I brought coffee." He handed me over a large cup of hot almond latte that warmed my hands right away.
"Did I manage to make it up to you now?" He asked with an innocent child-like look.
"You're forgiven." I raised my chin dramatically and Jimin pretended to sigh with relief.
I took a sip of my coffee as he steered the wheel, driving through the empty streets.
"So-" I opened my mouth but suddenly got interrupted by Jimin's cursing.
"Shit!" He said gritting his teeth so hard I got scared that he'd break them. He suddenly made a sharp U-turn right in the middle of the road and I gripped on my seat, doing my best not to spill any of the coffee. "Little shits, I thought I had escaped them."
I turned around and saw a pair of headlights of a black car following us not far behind. The car made a turn immediately after Jimin.
"Who is this?" I turned to Jimin who was already speeding. The Porsche let out a loud roar.
"Someone who wants their asses kicked." Jimin replied angrily while looking at the car behind us in the mirror. He knit his eyebrows and let out another curse. The car was speeding towards us and Jimin made a sharp turn once again towards one of the smaller streets. Our followers quickly did the same.
"Be careful!" I exclaimed when we almost hit another car parked outside on the street. Jimin was driving as fast as he could but the other car was driving with the exact same speed as us.
"I have to get rid of them." He announced. "You ready?"
Before I could ask "Ready for what?" Jimin turned the wheel 180 degrees to the left, then to the right. The tires screeched so loudly I was sure we had awakened the whole neighborhood. He then accelerated as fast as he could towards a deserted path that didn't even have any asphalt on and seemed like a car hadn't passed there for years. Jimin made another skillful maneuver towards the little forest and stepped on the brakes abruptly. The car stopped right between two trees, its side mirrors were centimeters away from the trees' lower branches.
"There. We lost them." Jimin sighed and turned the car lights off. I listened quietly for some time trying to detect any car sounds around us but it seemed that he was right. All we could hear was the monotone rumble of the engine.
"What. Just. Happened." was all I could say. I looked at the cup of coffee in my hand and couldn't help but wonder how I hadn't spilled it all on the dashboard.
"Believe it or not, this happens to me rather often." Jimin smirked and ran his fingers through his head.
"But who was that?" I asked, my eyes as wide as pancakes.
"Stupid reporters or paparazzis. Or sasaengs." I sensed him shiver with disgust a little bit when he pronounced the last word. (In South Korean culture, a sasaeng or sasaeng fan is an over-obsessive fan of a Korean idol, or other public figure, that has engaged in stalking or other behaviour that constitutes an invasion of privacy.)
"Well, that's a bummer." I said and immediately wanted to slap myself. I suddenly realized how bad probably BTS were having it with all those crazy, obsessive people that were invading their privacy all the time.
"Good thing you're wearing a hoodie and a cap." Jimin laughed. "Otherwise the tabloids would probably explode with pictures of your face getting in my car."
I gulped. I totally didn't think about this.
"Don't worry." He reassured me, apparently sensing my anxiety. "I'm sure they didn't get anything. And they won't, because we escaped them." He winked.
Jimin unbuckled his car seat belt and leaned towards me to unbuckle mine too. When he came closer I felt his scent infiltrate my nostrils. He smelled really nice, like expensive perfume. Well, it's Park fucking Jimin, what did I expect.
Jimin leaned back on his seat and turned towards me, facing me. Then he said casually:
"So, you wanted to talk?"
Ah, straight to the point, I see.
I coughed a little and tried to put on my most serious face.
"Yes. How the fuck did you know about me and Taehyung?"
Jimin let out a genuine laugh then pointed at my collarbone. Ah, shit, the crystal heart! I was wearing it again.
"I saw it in his pocket a while ago." He explained. "Then I saw it on your neck. And two plus two equals... sex."
I gulped nervously but at the same time I was relieved. So at least Taehyung hadn't told him and they hadn't paired up to play some perverted mind-games with me.
"This is a first, you know. Taehyung making romantic gestures towards a girl. He usually fucks their brains out and then leaves them broken, never ever to be fixed. Or wait, did he do that to you too?"
I looked away through the window, startled. I felt as if Jimin's words had punched me right in the stomach. I started feeling nauseous.
He clicked his tongue as if he sensed he had found my weak spot. But I wouldn't give him the pleasure. I didn't believe him.
"If so, what? I don't see you having any different approach towards girls." I turned around to face him and replied challengingly. Jimin frowned.
"I'm just looking out for you, Y/N. I don't want you to get hurt." He grabbed my hands suddenly and squeezed them gently. I felt as if electric cords were being attached to my body and electricity was running through them. "All I want is to make you feel good-"
"Stop. Let me be clear about something, Jimin." I interrupted him right in the middle of his speech. "I know your type. You're a womanizing ladies' man that gets excited by the thrill of chasing something he deeply wants to possess. But once you get it, you get bored. So you chase again. And again. But you're never satisfied."
Jimin's eyes widened. His expression was a mixture of surprise and displeasure. He squeezed my hands even tighter.
"But nothing is ever going to happen between us. Because I know who you are. Never in a million years."
Jimin loosened the grip around my hands slowly until he let them go. He looked straight ahead through the window and clenched his jaw. Suddenly there was no sign of the playfulness and naughtiness in Park Jimin's eyes. I could see he wasn't used to rejection.
"Be careful, Y/N. Never is a very strong word." He said finally and raised his eyebrows at me. "Don't tell me you think precious Kim Taehyung is somewhat better than me, sweetheart. He's even worse. I mean, like a hundred times worse. I know you've already had a taste of how cruel he can be. And this is just the tip of the iceberg." Jimin's words pierced through me one by one as if they were small poisonous darts pinching my skin. "You won't have to suffer with me, baby. I won't let a single tear leave your pretty eyes. I'll make you feel good."
I knew Jimin was trying to enchant me with his beautiful words but I was trying to stay calm.
"You mean I won't suffer when you throw me away like a used handkerchief?" I snapped.
"How can you be so sure I'll throw you away?"
"Oh, I'm sure of that."
"You mean like he threw you away?"
This was already too much.
"I want to go home." I deadpanned and he smirked.
"Your wish is my command."
We spent the rest of the drive in awkward silence. As he parked his car outside my building he turned towards me and put his hand on my thigh which made me jump with surprise.
"You know, Y/N, I'm aware that you get to decide for yourself. I didn't want to offend you, I was just stating facts." Jimin squeezed my thigh lightly before he said his last words.
"Have fun chasing him. Or, should I say, running away from him?"
I muttered "Good night" as I got out of the car and walked towards the door of my building, the lights of the Porsche lightening my way.
I couldn't see him, but I could feel Jimin's eyes piercing through me as I unlocked my door.
I close the door behind me and took a look at my phone. It was already 2 am. But that wasn't what caught my eyes.
I had two missed calls from Kim Taehyung.
