Y/N POV:
Taehyung:
"Still at the studio recording w/ Namjoon and Steve Aoki. Running late. Talk to you later."
I put my phone down on my lap and looked through the window. Rain was falling down like a waterfall.
It's a good thing I'm not walking home, I thought.
"That your boyfriend?" Jimin asked nonchalantly when we stopped at a traffic light. He didn't glance at me and instead he looked straight ahead.
I wiggled in my seat awkwardly.
Before I could reply my stomach let out the most horrifying growl I had ever heard. Jimin started laughing.
"It looks like you're hungry. Wanna go grab something to eat?" he asked in the most innocent way possible, like we were a couple of best friends having a chat.
"It's okay, really. I can just eat something at home." I tried to decline politely.
"I meant to grab something to eat with me. Or are you going to invite me over to your place?" Jimin threw me a playful glance. I gulped and tried to think of something clever to say as a comeback.
"That's what I thought." He forestalled my answer. "Come on, I know a great cozy place around here. It's not very pretentious." He added as if he could read my mind when I thought that I was wearing my most ordinary clothes and hadn't showered all day.
"My mama always told me not to take a girl home without making sure she's eaten well first." Jimin smiled warmly at me instead of giving me one of his flirty smirks again. He had such a powerful energy but in a laid-back, calm way. I could tell that he was just being himself, without the tension of pretending to be someone else or conducting according to the social norms.
"Well, you're driving so you make the rules." I shrugged. Out of the corner of my eye I saw how Jimin lightly clasped the wheel.
"We're here." He announced in a minute or so and parked the Porsche in front of a small door with an unobtrusive sign. If I had passed by I wouldn't even notice that it was a restaurant.
I got off from the car but then froze.
How could I walk into a crowded restaurant with Park fucking Jimin?
As if he had read my mind again, Jimin laughed and gently put his hand on my shoulder.
"It's okay, people know me here. This restaurant is not open to the public eye. No one will bother us here." He reassured me.
I sure hope so, I thought and in the back of my mind I felt a little scared. I'm not doing anything wrong, am I?
The waiter greeted us quietly and settled us at a covert table that was almost invisible from all the other tables.
"I haven't eaten anything all day so I hope you don't mind watching me devour an entire large pizza on my own." I said jockingly and Jimin smiled.
"You can do whatever you like in front of me." He replied in his usual flirtatious manner and I shuddered. Why did he have to talk like this all the time? He flashed at me his formidable smile again and leaned back on the booth.
"So, you seeing anyone at the moment?"
Wow, straight to the point, I see. This man wasted no time.
I wondered what to say. There was no way I was telling anyone about me and Taehyung.
"How is that any of your business? This is private." I replied vaguely. I wouldn't give him the pleasure to answer his every question. If that's how he wanted it to be, I could try to beat him at his own game.
Jimin raised his eyebrows, intrigued. Clearly he was expecting me to tell him I'm single and that I want to fulfill his every wish in bed, or something like that.
"Playing it cool, I see. I can find out if I want to, you know." his lips curled into a smirk.
"I'd like to see what you'll find out." I replied casually. He looked at me for a couple more seconds before pushing the inside of his cheek with his tongue.
"Anyway. You should have that car of yours checked out, you know that?" He said with a concerned tone.
"Yeah, yeah, I know. I've probably forgotten the radio turned on again. I do it rather often." I sighed. "I'm really grateful that you were there, actually. Thank you."
Jimin nodded with a slight surprise.
"You can make it up to me someday." He leaned towards me and I gulped. Then he smiled again. Why did he have to be so confusing? "I'm just kidding. You can thank me by eating up your dinner."
The next second the waiter brought two absolutely delicious looking pizzas and I felt my mouth start to salivate. I hadn't noticed how hungry I was until then.
Jimin made some more of his jokes while we were eating up and I laughed. His company was very chill and laid-back and I enjoyed that. When the check came, he grabbed it almost immediately.
"Uh-uh, it's my treat. I want to thank you for the ride." I started digging in my purse for my money.
"There's absolutely no way you're paying." Jimin said with an undisputable tone. He made it clear that this was non-negotiable. He put down the money and handed them to the waiter, telling him to keep the change.
"I can't accept this." I continued to protest as we were heading towards the car.
Jimin tilted his head as if he was examining my face and considering something.
"Give me your phone." He said but before I could do it he grabbed it from my hands.
"You can thank me by giving me your number." He glanced at me while typing. He quickly typed in his number and gave it a call. Then handed me the phone proudly while I was processing what had just happened.
I turned towards him ready to question his motives when suddenly he noticed something on my neck.
Damn, the purple heart from Taehyung! I had forgotten that I was wearing it. I had put it under my blouse but it must have somehow popped out while I was taking my jacket off.
Jimin's expression was a mixture of surprise and discontentment. He knit his eyebrows in displeasure.
There's no way he could know, right? This heart could be from anyone.
"Is something the matter?" I asked him aware of the sudden change in his expression.
"I just remembered something." Jimin muttered the words as he turned the engine on. "Come on, I'm taking you home."
I nodded and we drove towards my apartment. Jimin parked the Porsche in front of the building and I prayed to every God that none of my neighbors were home.
"Well, thanks for dinner." I said once again knowing I was repeating myself.
He flashed his white smile at me again and the devilish spark in his eyes was back again.
"No problem." He replied. "Have a good night, Y/N. See you soon."
I nodded and got out of the car. The Porsche took off with a noisy high speed and it was gone for about a second.
I turned around towards the way it had disappeared.
I never mentioned my name to Jimin.
How did he know it?
