"condition terminal"

CASSIE HAD NEVER BEEN THE kind of person to lean on her friends like her life depended on it, she was always the one who comforted them in their time of distress, and she liked it that way - she liked being the person that people relied on, and she wanted to keep it that way. But, right now, she was terrified as she learnt into Ellie's hold - she was feeling things she had never even felt before, and she felt like a completely different person because of it. She's now regretting not telling the pack about her dreams and change in her behaviour sooner, as now, she wasn't even sure she would make it through to the end of the week, feeling like this, it felt like she was dying.

Ellie held onto Cassie as the girl basically broke down in her arms, and she frantically looked around to see if anyone she knew were near them both, in that case, she could have help getting Cassie into a back room where there wasn't any loud music. Ellie could feel how hot Cassie was, and she was overheating, she felt like complete lava as the girl leaned into her. Cassie quickly held her hands over her ears as the music sent vibrations through her body - she felt as if her head was going to explode from the pressure..
"Come on, Cass." Ellie grunted out, practically trying to drag her best friend into the opposite direction to the main area and the dance floor, hoping to get her someplace quiet. Cassie couldn't exactly hear anything around her due to the pounding going on in her ears, but she had no choice but to follow Ellie due to her energy being drained with every second that went by - she felt like she was on the verge of dying.

Ellie pulled Cassie along with her as quickly as she could, using all of her strength to do so, and finally, she had managed to bring Cassie into the back room, setting the girl down on the floor so she was able to lean against the wall. Her thoughts were that Cassie was currently having a panic attack, so she just had to try and get the girl to calm down. All Ellie could hear was the beat to the music in the background, and she wasn't sure how to help Cassie our - her behaviour seemed to have come out of nowhere, and she was terrified for her.

Doing the only thing she could think of, she pulled out her mobile phone and dialled for Liam's number, hoping to god that he would answer and help her out with Cassie, only, when she had rung the number, it went straight to voicemail, and he couldn't be reached - she grunted in annoyance, placing her phone back into her pocket as she placed her hand over Cassie's forehead, feeling that the girl was the hottest she had ever felt someone to be. What was happening to her?
This was just as Mason had come stumbling into the room, obviously not looking where he was going as he kissed a random guy from the club. Ellie practically jumped out of her skin when she saw Mason out of fear, not expecting him to come rushing in, and quickly, she got up and ran to Mason, grabbing his arm to catch his attention quickly, hoping that he could help with Cassie.

Barely two seconds had gone by, before the boy Mason was kissing had been flown backwards by something invisible, surprising the two human teens, causing them to stumble backwards at the sight, not knowing what was happening.
"Run!" They heard, and when Ellie turned around, she saw a guy, in full on wolf form - which she didn't even know was possible. Her eyes widened at the sight and she backed up, keeping her eyes on the thing in front of them. Was she dreaming? Had she been drugged? Why was she seeing this?

Mason didn't seem phased at the werewolf in front of them, whereas Ellie's eyes widened in shock, backing up from the two teens and back to Cassie, who was still practically passed out at this time, slumped on the ground with her eyes screwed shut. This was when Mason followed behind Ellie quickly, and gasped upon seeing one of his best friends on the floor, "What happened?" He asked her, instantly rushing to Cassie to check on her. As he placed his hand on her forehead, he felt that she was boiling up, more so that it isn't normal.. She was human, though, so none of this made sense.

"I don't know, she started acting weird and then she just passed out on the ground, she was complaining about how loud the music was, I think she had a panic attack or something." Ellie explained to Mason, as she crouched down to pull Cassie up onto her lap. As she did so, the blonde girl groaned out in pain at the sudden movement, but still kept her eyes squinted shut due to the pain that flooded through her whole body. Ellie held her close as she was nearly in tears seeing her friend this way. "She needs help, Mason. I don't know what to do!" She told Mason.
Cassie felt as if her skin was stretching out and as if a fire was spreading throughout her body - it was excruciating pain, and she felt like she could burst up into flames at any moment now - she stung, and she wanted it all to end. Her veins felt like they were going to explode.

"She's burning up." Mason pointed out to Ellie, confused at how the girl could be so hot right now - the only other time he had felt someone be this hot, was Liam when he was in transition. As Mason had his concentration set on Cassie as she laid on Ellie's lap, Lucas and Brett were fighting behind the three of them, with Brett trying to keep the humans safe from this supernatural creature in front of him.

Even though Ellie was still in shock about what she had just seen happen right in front of her eyes, Cassie was her main priority, and right now, she needed attention, hell, she needed to go to hospital. She could hear the growls in the background and the loud bangs as they fought, but she tried to block them out as she stroked Cassie's hair out of her face, and stroked her arm to give her reassurance that she wasn't alone right now, and her best friend was here with her.
Ellie knew that the girl had been keeping secrets from her, along with Liam and Mason, and tonight had proved just that, the only thought that ran through her head now, what if Hayden knew? She would be hurt.

Just as Lucas was about to get his stomach ripped open, Liam had instantly sprinted in and tackled him away, not realising that his girlfriend was passed out in the corner of the room with Mason and Ellie. "You're a little late!" Liam shouted at Scott and Kira, when they both had finally arrived after a while of waiting for them. He had rang them ages ago..

At this point, Ellie was just glad that she was hidden in the corner with Cassie and Mason with her, as the sight in front of her was terrifying - the fact that she had just witnessed not only Brett and Lucas shift into something supernatural, but Liam and Scott? She was wondering if this was all a dream and she would wake up at any moment, realising that it was all just a bad dream.. Ellie looked down at Cassie again, and the girl thought she was imaging things when she saw a small flame on Cassie's palm - that couldn't be right? Right? There wasn't a lighter in sight, and Ellie doubted that Cassie would have the energy to even turn a lighter on.. She must be seeing things..

After the fight was finally done and Lucas was out cold on the ground, unable to hurt anyone else, Liam had finally noticed his girlfriend lying in Ellie's lap, out cold as her friend stroked her hair. "Cassie?" He gasped, instantly rushing over to the girl, taking over Ellie's position by pulling his girlfriends body into his lap, "What's wrong with her?" He asked Ellie, also noticing that she was completely burning up. If he listened closely, he also noticed that her heart rate was double the rate it should be beating at for a human - almost as if she was in some sort of transition. Ellie looked down sadly at Cassie as Liam had taken the girl into his own grasp; she had to push back the thought of what she had just seen, because Cassie was in trouble, that's all that mattered right now.

Ellie shook her head at his words, "I don't know! She just collapsed after freaking out about nothing, the music was too loud for her and she passed out." She explained to him. She wished she did know what was going on with her best friend - she wanted to help her friend out, but she couldn't because she had no clue about what was going on and how to fix it all. None of this made any sense to her.

"Scott!" Liam called out, gaining his alpha's attention, and within the next few seconds, Scott was also crouched over Cassie, furrowing his eyebrows in confusion at the sight of the girl, he placed his hand on her forehead and also noticed that the girl was completely burning up, like she was a flame. "Something's wrong with her.. I-I don't know what's going on, is she okay?" He asked Scott, stuttering in fear that his girlfriend might not be okay right now. He would never forgive himself if something bad happened to her, as they hadn't been the closest in the past few weeks; he should have seen something, he could have helped her.

Scott's hand paused on her girls face as they heard commotion behind them - and as the group of teenagers looked over at the creature on the floor, they saw that he had been killed by some kind of stim gun. When they looked up to see who had fired the shot.. They saw men.. Men in masks. "Why did you do that?" Scott asked them, looking up at them in slight fear, wondering who these guys were.

"His condition was terminal." One of the men spoke, his voice sending chills throughout every single body of the teenagers in the room. Scott and Liam instantly started to freak out once they saw the masked men look over at Cassie in Liam's lap, "She continues to be a success." The masked man announced, almost as if he was proud of the girl on the floor. Proud of his creation.

"What does that mean?" Scott asked, shouting, and as they began to leave the room, when they didn't reply to him, he shouted even louder, "What does that mean?" He asked.
He didn't want anything to happen to Cassie, she was a sister to him just as much as she was to Stiles himself, and he would be dammed if he would let anything happen to her.

The masked man looked down at the now dead body of Lucas before they left, "He was a failure." One of them then told Scott, before finally leaving the club with the other masked men. Everyone was frozen in fear of who they were - and they were now shocked that Malia wasn't lying about them after all.. They had thought she lied about the whole thing..

Without wasting any time, Scott shook his head at them, and turned to Liam so he could pick up Cassie and take her to the hospital. "Come on. We've got to get her to my mom." He announced. He had no idea where Stiles was, or Noah, for that matter, so he would have to get into contact with them as soon as they get to the hospital.. They had to figure out what was wrong with Cassie, and fast..

"A success?" Cassie asked the boys, looking up at Scott and Liam in complete confusion at their words. She had woken up shortly after being brought into the hospital, and was currently in a hospital gown on a hospital bed.. Just like she had been multiple times before in her life. Being in a car crash with her aunt at a young age meant that she needed a bone marrow transplantation from having anemia, this meant being in a hospital was almost normal to her at that point in time. She hadn't had any problems after that.. Until she finally knew about the supernatural. "What does that mean?" She then asked, as she wrapped her arms around herself for comfort, feeling incredibly uncomfortable.

The doctors had told her that she had a panic attack and passed out at the club from it, but the teenagers knew that it was much more than that; something was happening to Cassie, and it wasn't good, whatever it was. However, the fact that she was a 'success' and the others had been 'failures' had to mean something, right? She couldn't die? "We don't know, yet." Scott answered her, giving the girl a look of sympathy, "But we're going to do everything we can to find out what's happening to you." He said.
When Cassie nodded in appreciation, Scott sighed at her, "How come you never came to any of us when you started having the nightmares? And the whole healing thing, you never seemed to think that it was important to let us know?" He asked softly, trying hard not to sound like he was scolding her from not letting anyone know what had been going on with her lately.

Cassie shrugged in embarrassment, now feeling stupid that she hadn't confided in Scott and the rest of the pack, she felt stupid, "I didn't want to bug you guys with my problems. At the time I just thought they were nightmares.. And, well, the healing thing.." She began, sighing, "I was scared. I didn't know what to do." She explained, wanting them to know that she didn't keep it from them intentionally, and not because she didn't trust them all.

Scott shook his head at her, taking a seat on the chair besides Cassie's bed and pulling her in for a hug, "You're problems are our problems. Never forget that." He told her. He didn't know why she would ever think that she was bugging them, she was their family - Scott thought of Cassie as his own sister, and he hated the fact that the masked men had managed to get to her, they needed to find a way to find out what they had done, and fix it. Fix her.

Cassie leaned into his hold and sighed in annoyance that she had kept this whole thing to herself this whole time. After explaining everything that had been happening to her since the summer, Scott was shocked that she hadn't come forwards sooner with what was going on. She felt like a huge weight had been lifted off of her shoulders at the fact that everything was now out and she could finally relax.
Especially because she had healed after Tracy had grabbed and cut her wrist, she should have told someone, even if it was just Liam, or Stiles, or even her dad.. Anyone would have benefited in knowing something. Now, this whole thing had escalated, and they didn't even know if they would be able to help her in the end.

"Where's my dad?" She eventually asked Scott, "Or Stiles?" She questioned. The only thing she wanted to do, was to explain herself to her family, and apologise for keeping this to herself, especially Stiles..

"I called your dad, he's on his way." Scott answered her, "I couldn't get ahold of Stiles, I don't know where he is." He then informed her.

Cassie nodded into his shoulder as he held her, just as Liam took a seat on the other side of her, nodding to Scott that he had this, causing Scott to stand up, handing Cassie over to her boyfriend. He smiled at the sight of the two younger teens, the two reminding him of how he and Allison once were at that age - it made him believe that what they had was worth fighting for, and he was glad that they had found each other.
He was just hoping that it wouldn't end in tragedy..
