𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗹𝘃𝗲; the school bonfire

"perishable"

CASSIE WAS STILL IN THE hospital, after days of being stuck in herbed; the girl was only able to walk around the hallways a little bit, only she tried not to move as much, due to her new stitches in her side that were still healing. If she allowed them to heal quickly, she would then be able to get out in no time and finally got back to school with her friends, who were only allowed to visit for a short amount of time, making Cassie miss them all immensely. Although. when she heard that her dad was emitted into the hospital due to a gun shot wound, she didn't hesitate to walk to his room with her crutches, only feeling a little bit of pain when she walked due to the healing process. Although, she had to keep her IV drip attached to her arm, which relieves her pain.

When she eventually entered her dad's hospital room, Cassie had sensed a little bit of tension between Stiles and her dad. However, she ignored it and went straight to her dad for a hug. "You should be in bed." He told her, after they pulled apart, he wasn't happy that she had walked here with her stitches still healing - he felt awful that she had gotten out of bed for him.

Cassie looked at her dad as if he was a crazy person, "You got shot, and you expect me to stay in my room?" She asked him in disbelief, "Besides, I can walk now, without any pain." She finished, motioning to herself, who was now standing besides the bed with a smile on her face.

Noah sighed at her answer, knowing that she shouldn't be overworking herself just to come and see him. He didn't want anything to happen to her, "I don't want you ripping your stitches." Her dad said, causing her to roll her eyes at his words.

"My stitches are the least of my worries right now, dad." She told him, rolling her eyes. "So, what happened?" Cassie asked, as she took the other chair in the room as Stiles was sat in the one besides the bed, she sat down at the end of the bed, shuffling to get comfy, before looking back at her dad.
Stiles had started to explain what exactly happened to their dad, without missing out any details, when Cassie had stopped him by raising her hand up. "Okay, woah, woah, woah." She said, interrupting his speech on their dad. She still wasn't happy with Stiles for keeping the secret from her, and she definitely did not want the whole story.

"What?" Stiles asked her, clearly confused at her words, as he thought that Cassie would want to know what happened to their dad, but it looked like she didn't, which just confused him even further..

"Just because I know about all of this stuff about the supernatural, doesn't mean that I want to know everything about it." Cassie couldn't help but snap at him. She was still mad at him and she couldn't even hide it. She wouldn't take it out on her dad as he was currently lying in a hospital bed with a gun shot wound, but she could for sure stay annoyed at Stiles, as nothing was wrong with him.

"I thought you said that you were okay with the whole thing?" Stiles asked, as her dad also looked at her with his eyebrows raised in question, they both thought that she would want to know what was going on, but it seemed to be the complete opposite - that, or she was still mad at Stiles for lying to her this whole time. But, if they couldn't trust her with the information, why would they tell her more? That's what they thought when they gathered she didn't want to know anything about what had happened to Noah.

"I am okay with it, I guess." Cassie told them, shrugging, "I just..." She started, then sighed in frustration, "The least I know, the better. I don't want to lie to my friends about it all."  She said, before she noticed the looks on her brothers and dad's face, so she sighed again, "I didn't mean it like that, I'm sorry." He told them, mostly her dad.
Although she meant it, she wanted anything but to make her family upset; of course, they upset her, but two wrongs don't make a right. She wasn't going to torture them for keeping this from her, but she was sure going to make them feel guilty.

She knew that they felt horrible about keeping the huge secret from her for all of this time, but she just didn't mean to word her sentence like that.  For now, she just wanted to enjoy the moment with her brother and dad, even though she and her dad were in hospital gowns..

"Please, Melissa." Cassie begged Melissa as she sat on the edge of her hospital bed, "It's just for one night, I promise I won't drink or anything, I just want to see my friends." She told the woman, as she looked down guiltily at the girl. Melissa knew that Cassie was on the way to a full recovery, and she could now walk, but she didn't know if she wanted to risk letting her go to the party, in fears that her stitches might reopen.

Cassie was trying to beg Melissa to let her go to the bonfire tonight; as she knew that she was the nurse who was able to discharge her when she felt like Cassie was able to walk around and do say to day activities on her own. Cassie felt like she felt absolutely fine, and was able to walk and move around without as much pain as she first got the surgery.
She had been stuck in her hospital room for too long, and she just wanted to get out of this room and breathe in some fresh air, or in this case, bonfire air. Cassie was just hoping that Melissa would have sympathy, and let her go out. Her dad was bedridden, and probably asleep right now, so no visitations were allowed, so it's not like she could go and sit with him.

Melissa sighed and looked over they king  girl, she was capable of being discharged, but she needed to check with Noah first before she did anything, as he was her father, her legal guardian. "I need to check with your dad first." Melissa told the teenage girl, who looked at her with innocent eyes, trying to convince the woman to let her go out.

"Okay." Cassie eventually said, smiling up at Melissa, she felt that dad knew she was well, and that she wouldn't do anything that would pull her stitches out, she also wouldn't drink, as he knew that she never lied to him, or Stiles. She had her fingers crossed that he let her go, but she just couldn't push back the feeling that she wouldn't be allowed to go. She just needed to get out, and no one could tell her otherwise..

It was now the evening, time for the bonfire party, and the teenage girl had surprisingly managed to sneak out of the hospital after Melissa had left the room - they really needed to replace their security, if she could sneak out, then what else could happen there? Cassie had gotten Ellie to help her get ready at her house, borrowing some of Ellie's clothes, and they were now headed for the bonfire together.
"I feel like I haven't spoken to you forever." Ellie voiced out, as they approached the bonfire scene, arms linked.

"I know." Cassie sighed at her statement, knowing that Ellie hadn't been able to visit as much due to school and homework, she had only managed to come and visit her when the girl had to drop off homework and class work that Cassie had missed, "It sucks that I've been bed ridden this whole time. I just want to be able to come out again." She told her, sulking. It's not like she could escape the hospital in broad daylight, as people would see her - she had a hard time even getting out tonight, and she knew that she would be in so much trouble when her dad and Melissa found out. She just had to make sure she didn't effect her stitches today, and she needed to ensure that she would come back in one piece..

When they both approached the bonfire, the two girls saw a lot of people dancing around, drinking and just having fun. Cassie knew that she couldn't drink tonight or even move around too much, due to her stitches and her healing process. Even if she had been stupid and snuck out, it doesn't mean that she would further implicate that by ruining her stitches and affecting the healing process. She felt good, and finally happy at seeing some other people her age besides Ellie, Mason and Liam, who had been visiting her in hospital frequently, as well as her dad and sometimes Stiles, whom didn't come as much due to the fact that Cassie was still annoyed at him..
When the two girls had looked around their surroundings to find anyone that they recognised, they eventually found Mason and Liam, drinking besides each other. Mason looked like he was having fun, whereas Liam looked somewhat sad, and obviously too drunk to function.

"Hey guys." Cassie greeted, when she and Ellie had approached them with smiled on their faces.

"Cassie! You're out!" Mason shouted in excitement, pulling the girl into a soft hug, trying not to her her due to her stitches, "I didn't think you'd be able to get out." He said, surprised that Melissa had discharged her, especially for a party..

"I snuck out." Cassie informed Mason, sending him a wink, before she looked over to Liam with a smile on her face, "What's up, Dunbar?" She asked.

Liam didn't say anything back to her, not even a hello, but he lifted up his bottle of alcohol in response, giving her a tight smile, showing that he was just drinking his sorrows away. Cassie could instantly tell that something was wrong was wrong with Liam, but she didn't want to push him in talking about it, whatever it was. She looked at Mason for an explanation, hoping he would know what's up with Liam, only, he simply shrugged at her, indicating that he also didn't know what was up with the boy and why he was acting strangely.

Further into the night of the bonfire, Ellie was off with some girl that she had just met that night, while Mason and Cassie were sitting on either side of Liam, looking at him with equally worried expressions. Mason had said that he wanted information out of Liam, on why he was acting so strange lately, causing Liam to start drinking more out of stress.
Cassie, however, had her fingers crossed that Scott was around somewhere, she didn't even think werewolves could get drunk, at least, that's what Stiles had told her the other day. When the girl looked around, she noticed Scott and Malia across from them, causing her to excuse herself and make her way to him as quickly as she could, which wasn't that fast, due to her stitches, she could only walk slowly, trying to avoid bumping into anyone on the way over to him, which was hard, as there was a lot of people.

"Scott." Caisson called out, pulling his arm to get his attention, as he was much taller than her, and probably couldn't see her, in this huge crowd of people. "Scott!" She repeated, louder this time as he hadn't heard her the first time around.

Scott looked around at his surroundings at the sound of his voice, before he looked down at her the girl confusion, "Cassie? What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be at the hospital?" Scott asked, worried for her as he knew his mom wouldn't have allowed her out, unless she had healed. He pressed his hand on her back and gently pulled her away from another guy rushing past to get to his friends, and he kept his hand there, not wanting her to get hurt - she should not be here right now..

"I'm fine, your mom discharged me." Cassie clearly lied to him, which Scott knew because of her heart rate rising, but he didn't have time to comment, as the small girl began pulling him and also Malia back to where she and Mason had been sitting with Liam, who was still out of his mind. "Liam's really drunk." Cassie shouted up him due to the loud beat of the music.

"Drunk?" Scott repeated in confusion, unsure if he had heard her correctly, "We can't get drunk." He informed her, "Are you sure he's drunk?" He asked, wondering if she was just seeing things.

"Well, look for yourself." Cassie told him, as they finally reached Liam, who was slouched over on the table, looking like he was about to throw up, with Mason looking down at him with worried eyes, making sure to keep his hand on the boys back for comfort. He had never seen Liam drunk before, and it was beginning to make him worry, it looked bad.

Scott sat Malia down on the table, right next to Liam, and handed her some water to drink, which she did, before he turned to Liam to assess him and find out why he was like this, along with Malia. He then turned to Mason with a confused look on his face, "How much has he have to drink?" He asked the boy, knowing that he would know as he had been with him the whole night.

Mason shook his head at Liam's behaviour, knowing that Liam had had less to drink than he had, "Not enough to get him like this." He admitted, confused.

"Something's happening. We need to get them out of here. I think we're gonna have to, um..." Scott trailed off, before looking around dizzily. He looked down at his hands in a daze, causing Cassie to place her hand on his arm in worry. She didn't know what was happening, but it wasn't good, as werewolves couldn't get drunk, meaning that something else was causing this, something bad.

"How much did you drink?" Mason asked him, having the same questions running through his mind, why was everyone so blackout drunk?

"Nothing. Not even a sip." Scott told him, as he bended over and held himself up on the table, squeezing his eyes shut in pain. Cassie watched with worry, as he looked up to DJ in realisation, "It's not the drinks. It's the music." He confirmed, looking towards Cassie with a knowing look.
The girl knew that they all had people out for them for money, as that is what Garrett and Violet were doing, but the last thing she expected, was for them to do it in a crowd of people - but then again, it was a pretty good idea as everyone was drunk and not paying attention.
Cassie looked at the DJ booth in pure confusion, how could the music be effecting them like this? She still didn't understand the whole supernatural business, so none of this was exactly making sense to her. "I have to... I have to turn off the music." Scott panted, groaning slightly, "Don't let them out of your sight." He told Mason and Cassie, who nodded, before he left them to get to the DJ stand.

Cassie then sat down next to Malia and Liam, worrying about the both of them, what if Scott can't turn off the music? Are they going to die? She didn't even know. As she looked up at Liam, he noticed this and looked towards her with a drunkenly smile, to which she simply smiled back at, taking his hand and stroking it in reassurance, letting him know that she was here for him and it would all be okay.
As this was going on, two big security guards suddenly came towards them and began to lift up Malia and Liam, causing Cassie to protest, after having Liam's hand ripped from her grip, which she didn't like.

"Hey, they're fine, we've got them." Cassie protested, standing up and trying to pull Liam back. "They're just a little drunk." She tried to reason, only, the security guards completely ignored her.

"Wait... Stop. Hey, what are you doing? These are our friends." Mason also tried to stop them, only for the guard to push them both back forcibly, the boy holding onto Cassie so she didn't fall over and hurt her stomach.

"Your friends are overly intoxicated. They need to be escorted out." He shouted at them over the music.

Cassie felt suspicious of them, he was very aggressive, and normal security guards wouldn't be like this; could they be apart of what Scott was mumbling about? Mason stood up to him, putting on a brave face, "Okay, we'll go with them." He told them, keeping hold of Cassie's arm, keeping her upright from the hard shove that had hurt her stomach.

"That won't be necessary." The guard replied, looking down at the two teens as if they were pure scum.

"I said they're our friends..." Mason repeated, only to get shoved by the guard even harder than the first time, accidentally bringing Cassie down with him.
She gasped in pain as she hit the corner of the table before landing on the floor, definitely feeling that her stitches had been ripped open, maybe she shouldn't have snuck out of the hospital after all, as she was now in a lot of pain..

"You okay, guys?" Someone asked from behind them, helping them both up from the floor. Cassie grunted in pain as she was lifted up by some random boy who was concerned for the young girl, earning the attention from Mason, who saw her stomach and the blood seeping onto Ellie's white shirt.

"You're bleeding, Cass." Mason pointed out in worry, putting his arm around her to keep her upright, as the two unknown boys looked at her with concern.

"I'm fine, go and sort out the music." Cassie urged Mason, "I'll go back to the hospital." She said, knowing that turning the music off for Liam, Scott and Malia was much more important than her stitches being ripped open.

"I'm not leaving you here." Mason instantly denied, he looked towards the two boys, one of which had a hand on Cassie's shoulder to also keep her upright. "Can you please watch out for her while I get help, she's ripped open her stitches?" He asked desperately, not wanting to leave her, but knowing that he had to turn the music off like Scott had just tried to do.

The two unknown boys instantly nodded, both taking Cassie in their arms as Mason passed her over to them, earning another grunt of pain coming from her mouth, her eyes rolling back as she felt like she was going to pass out in pain. Mason instantly rushed off to turn off the music, and came back as soon as possible, after thanking the two boys for watching out for her, after this, he had taken her back to the hospital, practically carrying her, where she was sure she would get yelled at by Mama McCall, which she wasn't looking forward to one bit.
Why did everything always happen to her?
