"condition terminal"

LIAM HAD BEEN GIVEN A task, and that task was given directly from Stiles and Scott, so he couldn't let them down, not since they were adamant on it. The task was to keep an eye out on Cassie everyday, and make sure that nothing happens to her, or if she is, indeed, hiding something from them. If she was hiding something from them, Liam was bound to find out what it was, and when he did, he was going to let Stiles and Scott know.. They all had their suspicions on the girl, ever since Liam had revealed what Cassie found in the hole in the woods and how she had lied to his face, getting defensive when he asked her about it, they all knew that it wasn't going to be good, and she was clearly hiding something big.

The only person who wasn't suspicious of any behaviour, was Cassie, who thought that she was still keeping her secret a secret, and that no one knew what she was hiding, or the fact that she was getting around two hours of sleep a night. She just didn't think that it was worth bothering the gang over - it could be nothing, and she could be making a big deal out of nothing due to her lack of sleep, she just thought it was because of that. She definitely didn't want to be one of those girls that over exaggerated everything..
In fact, the girl had been avoiding mostly everyone in the pack since she found her ring in the hole that one night, even Ellie, who didn't even know about the supernatural; Cassie was scared, and didn't know if she could turn to anyone in case she was wrong about everything.

Cassie hadn't even spoken to her dad lately, as she had just distanced herself from everyone, and she wanted to keep it that way for now. "I really don't want to go." Cassie complained, as Ellie practically dragged the girl towards the back of the club, where Hayden was planning on letting them through the back door without having to pay the bouncers. It was by far, the last thing Cassie wanted to do right now, especially if there was a lot of people involved in one small area, she didn't know if she could handle it.

"Come on." Ellie encouraged her friend, giving her a pleading look as she dragged Cassie to the door. "We haven't hung out in so long and you promised!" She complained, afraid that she was going to leave. When Cassie sighed in annoyance, clearly not wanting to be here right now, Ellie shook her head at her friend, "What is wrong with you lately? It's like I don't even know who you are anymore." She asked, upset that Cassie was being like this - normally she would jump at the opportunity to do something like this, but now, Ellie didn't even know why she didn't want to do anything.

The question had hit Cassie like a tonne of bricks, and she had no clue how to answer. Yes, there was something wrong; but she couldn't exactly tell Ellie what was up with her. She hadn't even told her brother or boyfriend.. Cassie couldn't just blurt out to her, 'Hey, I'm actually just caught up in a bunch of supernatural drama and I don't know what's happening to me and I think I might be apart of some crazy tail of events or I might have the same condition as my mom', or she would seem like a crazy person.
"I'm sorry." Cassie eventually apologised, the apology coming from the heart, she didn't mean to shut Ellie out, she just... Didn't want her worrying about her. "I've just been, under the weather lately, you know?" She carried on, and when Ellie didn't make a comment on her words, she carried on again. "Its nearing the anniversary of my mom's death." She eventually revealed.

It wasn't as if Cassie was telling a lie.. It was near the time that her mom had passed away; but that wasn't why she was being distant from everyone. She felt awful for lying to Ellie, and she realised that she was doing exactly what all of her friends were doing to her last year, lying. She hated herself for it and hated what she had become.
Ellie smiled sadly at her friend, now feeling bad that she had been so horrible to the girl. "I'm sorry, Cass, I completely forgot about that." She apologised, pulling the blonde girl in for a hug. "Let's just.. Try to have fun, and if you aren't enjoying yourself, then we'll go home, okay?" She asked.

When Cassie reluctantly nodded at her suggestion, Ellie eventually became at her smiled and linked her arm through Cassie's, before they both walked around the side of the building. Only, when they did, they saw two people who they were not expecting to find there.
"Liam?" Cassie asked in confusion, seeing her boyfriend slouching next to Mason in defeat, also acting like he didn't want to be here right now, like he would rather be anywhere else.

"Mason?" Ellie then asked, not knowing that Hayden had invited him and Liam, "What are you guys doing here?" She asked, unsure as to why Hayden hadn't told her anything.

"I'm his flight attendant." Liam announced to the girls, looking at Cassie with a tight smile, hoping to cover up his nerves of being away from the pack for a night. He didn't know what was happening with everything, and he felt completely useless that he wasn't currently with them to help them out - but, this way, at least he could watch over Cassie and make sure nothing bad happened to her tonight.

"What?" Cassie asked him, confused at why he had just announced that. "Did Mason drag you out here?" She asked him, earning a nod from Liam. "Ditto." She announced, claiming that Ellie had also dragged her out here for the night.

Ellie nudged Cassie in annoyance at her words, "We're here to have fun, remember?" She spoke up, before knocking on the door to announce to Hayden that they were now here and waiting to come in.

Cassie rolled her eyes when Ellie turned back around with a smile on her face, "Yeah, fun." She mumbled, looking at her hands as she fiddle with her fingers, something that Liam didn't miss, as he watched her with furrowed brows. The fact that she was picking at her nails as if something was hurting her, confused Liam to no end.. What was she hiding? And why was she hiding something from him and the rest of the pack? Was it bad? The questions just plagued his mind.

The second Hayden had walked out of the back door, she smiled at her girlfriends presence, but it faded quickly once she saw that Liam was with the group of them. "I said I'd let guys in. Not him." She accused Mason, giving him a glare as she pointed towards Liam. That explained to Cassie about why Liam was here.. He wasn't meant to be here with Mason. She would gladly leave with him, though..

"You said I could have a plus one." Mason argued, motioning to Liam as being his plus one, he needed him to be his wing man tonight.. Hayden should have known that Mason would bring along Liam - she was stupid to think otherwise, Mason couldn't go anywhere without his best friend.

"I didn't say plus Liam." Hayden defended, now turning her attention to Liam, who stood awkwardly besides Mason, not knowing what to do in this situation, he obviously didn't want to be here, and Hayden didn't want him here..

"I'm his flight attendant." Liam then told Hayden, exactly what he had told Cassie when she asked why he was here with Mason tonight.

"What?" Hayden asked, annoyed, obviously confused at what the hell Liam was talking about right now. Cassie had stepped forward after she spoke, being bored of standing out of the back in the cold night air - but, even if it was freezing out, and the others were all shivering at the contact of the air, she wasn't cold, which confused her, as she only had a small jacket on - she should be cold.

"He's Mason's wingman." Cassie spoke up, repeating what he had said, gaining Hayden's attention as she waited impatiently, "Can we come in now? Please?" Cassie asked. When Hayden didn't make a move to let them all in, she rolled her eyes once more, before looking back at Mason, shrugging in defeat, she didn't know what else to say to make the girl let Liam in.

Mason sighed in response, before reaching into his pocket, and pulling out a fifty, holding it up for Hayden to see. It took Hayden a few seconds to decide if she wanted to let them all in or not, mostly Liam, but after a few seconds of thinking about it, she took the fifty, and opened the door to let the group in.

Cassie sighed in relief and quickly followed after Liam and Mason into the club, while Ellie stayed back to catch up with Hayden. The second she had entered the club, she instantly felt uneasy, and she had no clue as to why that was. Maybe she should have spoken to Scott and Stiles after all..
"Are you okay?" She then heard Liam shout to her over all of the blaring music, causing her to break out of her worried thoughts and look over at him, to see that he had worry written all over his face. The only thing that Liam could describe how Cassie looked right now, was how he felt when he had first shifted into a werewolf, and this thought terrified him. What was up with her?

"I'm fine." Cassie lied to him, and Liam could see right through it. He didn't even have to listen to her heart to know that she was lying to him right now.

"You're lying." Liam told her, not wanting to back down now. Liam wanted to know what was wrong with her, and he was going to find out tonight, no matter what happens.

"Oh my god! I'm fine!" Cassie snapped, finally breaking from the amount that everyone was pressing on her tonight. "Will you get off my damn case?" She asked, glaring at him like he was the most annoying person ever right now.

Without giving him a chance to reply to her, the girl stormed off further into the club, disappearing into the horde of dancing bodies, leaving Liam alone with Mason. "What's up with her?" Mason asked Liam, as he watched Cassie storm off, which was strange, as the girl was usually really nice. He hadn't exactly spoken to Cassie much lately, but he could tell that something was up, she was normally happy and nice, whereas tonight, she was moody and angry.

"I don't know." Liam replied, squinting his eyes in thought.
"But it's not good." He said.

Cassie had finally found Ellie later on in the night, after a while of looking for the girl. She wanted nothing but to leave and go home, and she was fed up with this place already and the loud blaring music that was hurting her ears. She would have just liked a night in with Ellie, watching films and eating snacks; she would be much happier if that were the case. "Ellie!" Cassie called out, when she neared her.

"Cassie, hey!" Ellie replied, obviously a little tipsy from having a little too many drinks. She seemed very cheery.

"I don't feel so good." Cassie told Ellie. It was true, Cassie felt physically sick, and it surprised her that she hadn't thrown up all over the floor yet, and her head was pounding, she felt like her ear drums were going to explode from impact, and it felt awful.

Ellie immediately put down her drink and put her hand on Cassie's shoulder, wanting to be a supportive friend. Cassie was making her worry, and she didn't know if she should bring her to the hospital or not, "Do you wanna go home?" She then asked. Cassie nodded immediately at her question, wanting nothing else but to go home - she really needed some cold water and to lie down in her own bed. It was then, did Cassie see one of Hayden's co-workers, intimidate her, and steal some of her shots, that she knew she had to pay out of her own pocket every night.
Snarling viciously at the sight of it, she began to make her way in that direction, only for Ellie to grab her arm, "What are you doing?" She asked. When she noticed Cassie's angered expression at what had just happened to Hayden, she gripped tighter onto the girls arm, "You'll get her fired." She said.

Cassie finally realised what she was thinking about doing, and she shook her head to rid the thoughts from her mind. "I'm sorry." She replied, now breathing heavily.

"Cass, you're scaring me, what's wrong?" Ellie asked her, keeping her hold on her friend in case anything were to happen. She had never seen Cassie act like this before - the girl had never seen a violent bone in her body, and she didn't know why she was acting out. It was scaring her.

It was at that moment, did she finally get a good look at Cassie's face, and she saw that the girl was practically in tears. "I'm scared." Cassie cried, finally letting it out.

What was happening to her?
