"condition terminal"
CASSIE COULD'NT BELIEVE IT WHEN she walked into the police station; the last thing she had expected to see that night, was Lydia bleeding out on the floor of the station, looking like she was on the verge of passing out. The question that was plaguing her mind, was where Scott and Theo were. Surely they should be here helping out? Why was Lydia even in this position to start with? The second Cassie set her eyes on Lydia on the floor, she rushed over and began to help Kira stop the bleeding, pushing down on her wound as the blood soaked through her hands..
The girl didn't exactly know what to do in this situation, Lydia was literally bleeding out; what if she didn't make it? What was she supposed to do? They needed to get Lydia to a hospital and soon, or she may not make it, and that thought alone, terrified Cassie to no end.
The second the front doors made another sound, indicating that more people had arrived, Cassie jumped up in fright, causing Lydia to groan slightly at the sudden movement on her wound, "Sorry." Cassie mumbled, moving her body around so that her hands were comfortably on the girls stomach. When she looked up, she finally saw Scott, followed by Stiles, Theo and Deaton, causing her to let out a breath of relief that they would be be able to help Lydia.
Once Theo had seen Lydia's condition, he instantly stepped into action, allowing Cassie to finally let go of Lydia's bleeding stomach as he had something to help, this allowed them to carry on helping her, as they knew what they were doing and she didn't have any clue on what to do. The girl instantly made her way over to her brother and pulled him in for a tight hug as she was scared, to which he returned, glad that his sister was okay and not hurt.
Stiles was actually in so much shock about Lydia bleeding out on the floor, that he had barely noticed that his sister was in the room with them all, and he couldn't help but furrow his brows in confusion at the sight of her - she looked completely different, yet he couldn't quite put his finger on it. But, she just looked different, there was something about her..
This was just as Lydia's mom came rushing in from her date night, and she had never been more terrified to see her daughter in such a state. "Oh my god!" The last gasped, as Stiles had to hold her upright.
"Stiles!" Scott called, as Cassie hurried over to her father quickly, allowing him to pull her into a tight hug, as he was glad that it wasn't his daughter bleeding out on the floor - he didn't know what he would do if that was the case. "Stiles!" Scott repeated, once more, noticing that Stiles was rooted in his spot and staring down at Lydia like his life was ending in this moment.
After a while of convincing the boy, he finally moved and followed Scott down into the basement where Malia was; while Cassie stayed in the waiting room of the police station next to her father who kept a death grip on her, she didn't know what her place was in this situation. She wasn't apart of the pack, not really.. She was just Stiles' little sister; if that wasn't the case, nobody would have even bothered with her.
Was she even important?
After driving in Stiles' jeep to the hospital a little while later, Cassie was now sitting in the waiting room, waiting to hear on Lydia's condition and how she was doing after the incident. Meanwhile, Scott and Liam were just entering the hospital, talking about what he, Cassie, Mason and Brett had found in the woods that night, and how Tracy was buried. Liam knew he also needed to talk to Scott about Cassie, as he was sure that something was wrong with Cassie, but he couldn't put his finger on it. The girl was acting strange, ever since the holidays had ended - it was as if something had switched inside of her and she had changed.
"Tracy was buried?" Scott asked Liam, as they walked through the front doors and into the hospital, they were rushing to get up to the floor in which the pack and Lydia was on, hoping to find out that the girl was okay and she would make a full recovery..
"In a hole. Buried alive. Crawled out." Liam said hurriedly, as they jogged through the hospital, avoiding people along the way, "Then we found another hole." He added, knowing that he needed to tell him about Cassie, right now, as there was no time to waste. He needed to know so that they could all think of what to do and how to help her, with whatever was bothering the girl.
"Who was buried in that one?" Scott asked him, finding it hard to take in all of this information at once - everything seemed to be crashing down on them all in one night.
"I don't know, but I think we're gonna want to find out." He told Scott. He wasn't going to mention anything about Cassie before he found out about Lydia, because of how defensive she got about her ring in the hole tonight, but it could also be something bad, and he wanted nothing but to keep her safe. Especially after seeing what happened to Lydia tonight, if that could happen to her, then what could happen to his girlfriend? He couldn't risk it. "Cassie found her ring in one of them." He eventually admitted, causing Scott to furrow his brows in confusion.
"In one of the holes?" Scott asked his beta, instantly panicking about the situation, Stiles had already confided in Scott about how he thought Cassie was acting strange lately, and he couldn't help but agree with him - she had been distant lately.. Too distant, like something was clearly wrong with her, but she was trying her hardest to hide it - but everyone could see through it, but they just couldn't work out what was wrong.
Liam nodded at Scott, "Yeah, but she claimed she dropped it when we went there with Stiles the other week to follow Theo." He told Scott, explaining the situation, "She's been acting weird lately. She got defensive when I asked her about the ring, she lied, I could hear her heart." He explained, remembering how Cassie had snapped at him when he had asked her why her ring was in the hole in the first place. "And I was sure her arm had been cut by Tracy earlier on today, but there's no mark there, at all, like she healed or something." He added, placing all of his worries onto Scott.
Scott sighed at his words, not knowing how to take all of this in along with everything else that was going on right now, it was too much to handle and he didn't know what to do, he knew that he was the alpha and he needed to protect everyone and work out everything that was going on, "Let's deal with this first, then move onto Cassie, okay?" He asked Liam, who nodded at his words, hoping that they could all figure out what was wrong with the girl.
Liam just wanted to get down to the bottom of Cassie's strange behaviour, and why she was acting so weirdly towards everyone. He didn't want to admit it, but the only thing that could go through his head, was, what if she was going to turn out like the others?
He just hoped that she was okay..

"Stiles." Melissa announced, as she walked into the waiting room filled with Scott's pack who were all waiting for Lydia's condition. Malia and Cassie stood up as the woman approached, just like everyone else in the room who looked towards her expectantly, wishing that she was okay.
"How bad is it?" Stiles asked first, concerned about Lydia's safety just like everyone else was.
"Could have been worse." Melissa told him, before looking towards Theo in gratitude, "Theo, nice going on that tourniquet. You probably saved her life." She added, causing Cassie to look at him thankfully, before turning her attention back to Melissa as she spoke, "All right. She's about to go into surgery. So it's going to be a while. Any other supernatural details that I need to know about or do we just stitch her up and hope for the best?" She asked, knowing that she needed to know everything in order to help the girl out.
"It was the tail." Kira spoke up, having been there to witness everything go down.
"Yeah, Tracy cut her with the tail, if that makes a difference." Scott added, hoping that this information could help his mom out with helping Lydia out.
Melissa let a sigh pass her lips as she nodded at their words, "Okay." She breathed out, before walking away, leaving them to their waiting.
As Melissa walked away, Malia finally spoke up, the first time since they had all entered the hospital building, "But it wasn't just Tracy. There were others." She argued, as everyone looked at her with uncertainty, not believing her in the slightest, "The guys in the masks." She told them. Scott didn't believe her either, as he knew she just wanted to kill Tracy since the beginning, and he just had a feeling that she was making this up so she had the excuse to kill the girl.
Malia's words caused Cassie's breath to hitch in her throat at her the explanation she gave, she recognised that description, in her dreams.. Well, nightmares. Everyone, now except for Cassie, looked at Malia with unbelieving looks, obviously no one believing what she had said she had seen. The tone in her voice made Cassie believe that she was telling the full on truth, and the fact that she had seen them before - at least she thought she did. She remembered the description from her dreams, and from her hallucinations..
Liam looked up at Cassie confusingly, realising that her heart had picked up at Malia's words, but before he could speak to her about it, she had rushed off in the opposite direction - hoping to get away from the pack and to take a breather.
He furrowed his brows in confusion, before looking back to Scott, who had the exact same facial expression; he was thinking the same, he had heard her heart, and it sounded like Malia's words had effected her in some way, but they just didn't know why.
Liam was right, she was acting weird.
Once everyone disbursed, Liam had followed behind Cassie quickly, , who was standing by the vending machine, looking for a piece of candy to buy herself and hopefully calm her nerves. "Are you okay?" Liam asked her, as he approached her, stroking her back soothingly, hoping that he could make her feel better. Her heart was still slightly too fast to be normal, and he hated that she wouldn't open up to him.
Cassie nodded and leaned into his shoulder, basking in his company, "I don't want to lose anyone." She admitted to him; she was scared, ever since finding out the reason as to how Allison died, she had been nothing but scared about what might happen to everyone else, if Allison had died, who else would be next?
"We won't." Liam reassured her, holding her tight, "And I won't let anything happen to you." He told her, causing her to look up at him with a worried look. She didn't know wether to confide in him or not; but she didn't want to make a big deal out of something that wasn't. What if she was just imagining all of these things due to her lack of sleep? What if she had what her mother had? It all scared her to no end.
"You won't?" She asked, her voice breaking slightly. Cassie couldn't help but love him even more in this moment, the fact that he was so caring towards her even when she had been distant since she began having her nightmares. She didn't mean to be distant with him, but she was just worried that everyone would treat her differently..
"Over my dead body." Liam told her, before pulling her in for a short kiss.
Maybe everything will be okay. She thought.

In the next few days, Scott and Kira were in the library, looking at possible clues about what Tracy was, when Stiles and Malia joined them both. "Did you get in to see Lydia?" Scott asked Stiles, as he joined them.
"No. I tried using my free period but she's still in the ICU and no one outside family is allowed in." He told Scott, as the werewolf approached him.
"We got one thing." Malia told them, placing a book down on the table, it was a bestiary - they were hoping that they could find something about Tracy in there, maybe that would give them some ideas on what was going on.
"Anything in here about half-werewolves, half-Kanimas?" Kira asked, flipping through the pages.
"The Chimera." Scott stated, causing them all to look at him in confusion.
"Um, what?" Stiles asked him.
"Chimera. It's a creature made of incongruous parts. And if Liam said he found two burial sites, it means Tracy's not the only one." Scott stated to the group, looking at the page in front of him. He hated to admit this, but it only meant one thing, Cassie could be caught up in the middle of all of this, the thought terrified him that she could be in danger, as that was the last thing he wanted for her, but after what Liam had told him about the hole and Cassie's ring, the only thought in his mind was that Cassie could be next..
"Who's the second Chimera?" Kira asked.
"And why would they bury them?" Stiles added.
"Deaton thinks it's part of their process." Scott told them, after he had spoken to Deaton, they had tried to figure this whole thing out, but again, they couldn't be sure - not even Deaton had seen anything like this before.
"The people in masks." Malia mumbled, earning looks from the rest of them - no one believed her, still.
Scott wasn't planning on saying anything about Cassie, until he found out more information about the whole situation with her. He didn't want to worry Stiles with his sister, knowing that he was already stressed out about Lydia being in the hospital, but he couldn't keep it from him. "Uh... Liam told me something about the hole they all found." He told the group, giving Stiles a small glance as he spoke up.
"What is it?" Stiles asked, looking towards Scott in confusion.
"He said that... Uh... He said that Cassie found her ring in it." He told Stiles slowly, he didn't exactly know how to tell his friend, it was extremely difficult. Scott didn't want to believe that Cassie may be the next Chimera; she was a sister to Scott as much as she was to Stiles, he loved her like one, and he would do anything for her.
Stiles looked at him even more confusingly, "Her ring?" He asked, "Maybe it fell off when we were following Theo." He suggested, not wanting to think of the idea that his sister may have been buried. They would have noticed that, right? She couldn't be one of them, she just couldn't..
"Maybe." Scott shrugged in response, not really believing his words, he was just trying to convince himself that everything was okay. "Maybe we should keep an eye on her, just in case something happens." He told him. Scott didn't want to be drastic about the situation; if they kept an eye on her, and if they stuck near her at all times, they would notice something out of the ordinary.
Stiles looked hesitant, not wanting to believe that his sister was supernatural, but nodded none the less; he knew that his sister wasn't a Chimera, he would know. He couldn't have neglected her that much.. He would have noticed if she went missing for a night or two him and his dad would have realised something was wrong, and especially if she went missing for a whole night.
Right?
On the other side of the school, Cassie was walking to her locker, while Ellie trailed behind her, talking her ear off about how they hardly spoke anymore since the new year had started. "I feel like you've been spending most of your time with Liam, or your brothers friends." She spoke up, as she followed her best friend. "I miss hanging out with you." She admitted, sadly.
Cassie sighed, leaning back against her locker in complete exhaustion, she still hadn't slept, and if it wasn't for her concealer covering up her eye-bags, people would know that she wasn't getting an inch of sleep. "I'm really sorry, Ellie." Cassie apologised, looking towards Ellie in sympathy, "How about we do something soon? Just me and you?" She asked, knowing that she had to start making an effort with her best friend again.
Ellie suddenly perked up at her words, "Hayden's working this weekend." She quickly announced, "We should go visit her." She said, hoping that Cassie would say yes.
Cassie instantly shook her head, "Umm, I don't know.." She trailed off, not exactly knowing how she could get out of this one.. She was too tired to go to a club..
"Oh come on!" Ellie encouraged, "We haven't hung out properly in ages, not since the summer holidays." She said, as she had noticed that Cassie had changed ever since she started dating Liam, but she didn't want to lose her as a friend, so she never said anything about it.. But she wanted it to change, she missed her best friend.
Cassie sighed, after a few seconds of silence, "Sure, lets go." She eventually gave in.
Ellie squealed and hugged Cassie tightly, "Yes! I can't wait!" She exclaimed, "I'll see you later, yeah?" She asked, as she had to go to the library for some books.
"Yeah, see 'ya." Cassie replied, waving her hand at Ellie as she walked away from her.
The second that Ellie was out of sight, the young Stilinski girl leans against her locker once more in exhaustion.. What had she just agreed to?
